There are 2 kind of keyboard covers: the touch and type. These are the ones that "click" into the surface. The type has mechanical keys, while the touch is just, well, touch. The blue one you linked to is touch, we have 3 of those. Husband would like type for his, but he ended up getting bluetooth wedge keyboard instead. Which was good decision, as he uses it for his work tablet as well. He also has the wedge mouse. Those make a nice setup on his desk. Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse Here are the keyboard covers from the MS store. Type Cover 2 The next-generation classic click-in keyboard for Surface now comes in four colors and is backlit to keep you working when the lights go down. $129.99 Surface Touch CoverDesigned for Surface, the Touch Cover is a revolutionary dual-purpose pressure-response keyboard and protective cover.$79.99 I just looked on eBay for cases, they have a lot more than they did a year ago! And they are much cheaper (of course) than MS store. That's a really nice case you linked to. Nice that it is keyboard and case in one. When looking at cases like that, make sure it has a cut out on all 4 sides to swipe in the from the sides, and up and down. This one does, so that's good. The one I have does not, and it's a pain.

It does come with Office Student. Nice thing is that it updates when a new version comes out. My boys have really enjoyed theirs. My oldest (17) is currently writing a novel with his. (November is national novel month) My youngest (14) takes his to school every day. Oldest took an online college class last year, and it worked with that (he didn't use it, because he needed laptop for another class, but it worked). If they are going to use it in the car, the type keyboard may be a little better. The touch cover works better on a harder surface. As a side note, we have these cases and they have been great. I like it has a pocket in the front for the charger. And assorted school papers crammed in. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Incipio-Padded-Nylon-Sleeve-for-Microsoft-Surface/productID.255932000 I wish I could get my daughter a pro tablet, either Surface or Lenovo Thinkpad2 or a 2-in-1 thing. But her house was broken into a month ago, and her laptop was stolen, so we just replaced that. Couldn't get the combo then, wish we could have waited and combined the two... Oh well. This will work for her well, to just hang out and internet, I think she'll like it.

I don't know, I was wondering as well. Brad posted under the eBay thread he thinks the deals will be spaced out during the day. I have a reminder on my phone for midnight. eBay is PST, so I guess it probably wouldn't be until 3am. I'm hoping they will last for a little bit. I think I have final decided to get this for my daughter. Was debating between Surface and Galaxy Tab 3. I think she would use Surface more, maybe. I use my Windows tablet way more than I did/do my Galaxy And this deal is so good. I would be fine with black cover, but I thought the pink would be fun for her. We'll see what the best deal is! Let's keep each other notified!

It is the latest version of the Android OS.

I did well, my store had a table set up with many of the deals. I was a little perturbed, the cashier got stressed after a bit and I hurried through and combined a transaction I didn't intend too, and ended up paying $9 on one transaction, then having $8 ECB left at the end. Oh well, that gives me something to start with on Thursday. I got there about 15 minutes after opening this AM, and glad I got there that early, I got the last item on 2 things. There were 2-3 others there getting ECB items.

Brad posted in the eBay Black Friday thread last night that eBay will have the Surface for $169 on Thursday. Best Buy is $199, and Staples is $249 with keyboard. I found several keyboards on eBay (want pink) for $40-50, so that will come out cheaper than Staples. http://forums.gottadeal.com/topic/205114-ebay-deals-black-friday-sale/

She was referencing the Surface in the Best Buy ad. It isn't a doorbuster or ticketed item, so she should be good to get a couple.
-
So how did it go? I'm about to head out soon, yay! Let the shopping begin!

If you go to the App Store (www.amazon.com/appstore) and click on Deals, it will list the day's deals and you can scroll through. I'm guessing you should just check every day to see what is on sale for that day.

The ad says you earn Kohl's Cash Nov 26-Dec 1, redeemable Dec 2-9

Black Friday Webcast Thread - Details, Schedule & More
bluebear replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2013
Here! Go to the main Black Friday Site. http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com At the top is a search box that searches all the ads. Also, keep checking back as it gets closer, the lists will update when things are available to purchase online. Welcome! -
The one hour guarantee doesn't mean you will walk out of the store with one, just that you can pay for it and will get it before Christmas. The wristbands will be the number they have on hand, so if you have a wristband you will leave the store with one. If you get eh guarantee card then you will pay for the item that night, and receive it later. Hope this makes sense! I think the 1 hour guarantee is a great idea, and I guess it worked out okay last year if they're bringing it back!
-
For any store, I will open each item I want in a separate tab, and refresh each separately and add them to cart when the price changes, and check out multiple times if necessary.
-
Awesome! Thank you! And, it lasts until after I get paid! Now as soon as I can decide which platform to get my daughter...
-
The keyboards are about $100. I haven't seen them by themselves in any ad. But, Staples will have Surface and keyboard both for $249.
-
In the past, they have not typically had the front page door busters online. But of course that can always change. Those are ticketed items, and it says tickets will be handed out up to 2 hours before. I guess it would really depend how many are available on how early to line up, but at the very least 2 hours, most likely way earlier. I don't see in the ad where it says the min per store.
-
As far as I can tell. Staples doesn't give the size, but sounds right for price. Interesting though, the pic looks like a type cover, but I imagine it will be the touch, since those are cheaper.
-
My kids do their homework on their Surfaces, works very well. Staples is going to have the Surface with keyboard for $249, the keyboards are normally $100+, so that's a good deal. It's easier to type long things, like papers, with the keyboard.

We love our Surface Pro and our RTs. The RTs are a little slower, but come with office. Like Len said, check on what else he'll need. I also have the Lenovo ThinkPad 2 that I use for work, and it's really nice. You will have to purchase office for a non-RT tablet. But it's at a nice in between point. The Surfaces on sale that I've seen are RTs. The Surface 2 will be a little faster. Be aware that the Surface 2 is an RT, even though they aren't calling it that. The pro is Surface Pro 2.

Target Has $10 off $50 or more on groceries in-store

Thank you!!! I do all my grocery shopping there, so this is awesome! -
Thanks for the website! Funny thing with my niece and bacon stuff (she already has socks), is that they are vegetarians! So I have to be careful with food stuffs. She'd eat it though!

I am getting my daughter a tablet for Christmas. She asked for one, but isn't very techy, and doesn't really know what she wants. So I just sent her a list of questions, and I'll go from there. It will be between Windows and Android, she's not really much into Apple. (And no, I'm not necessarily getting her Windows if it doesn't meet her needs!! ) I would love to get her a laptop replacement, like a Surface Pro or an Asus Transformer or even that HP in the BB ad. But her house was broken into a few weeks ago, and my sweet MIL bought her a new laptop to replace the stolen one. So that would be overkill/redundant at this point. Here is my list of questions, if anyone else is interested, maybe it will help. I had thought about making a chart, but I haven't got that industrious yet. Why do you want a tablet? What will you use it for? Reading books? Internet, FB? Games? Computer replacement? Type papers? Want Word/Office? Do you want Android?Or would it just be like a bigger phone, and you already have android stuff?Would same platform be good, or do you want variety?Or does it matter? Do you want it tiny, to fit in your purse? Or bigger, so things (websites) are bigger and easier to read? Do you want a pen for taking notes? Would you use it in class to take notes? Keyboard to attach?
