I spoke too soon. Target has a phone deal in next weeks holiday best ad. You get a gift card, doesn't say how much though and it's with trade in.

I was waiting to see if they were going to have the gift card deals this year like they usually have.

C, I was recently in the hospital, so I signed up to get groceries and other stuff delivered. Like it a little better than instacart because I can use my daughter's ebt card.

Never did jcp snow globes, don't know if that was before my time? And tru, they always had long lines, even later in the day.

Reading through the posts here reminded me of some good memories that I had forgotten about -- compusa, circuit city, frye's, mervyn's. Used to go to Kmart on Thanksgiving day too, they always had the Thursday sale, then the store shut down and you had to come back early Friday for more deals.

Ok, I'm back in this year. Took last year off.

If you buy the exact same thing, they won't know whether you are returning the first set or the second set.

I caught a killer deal on the 23rd. I wanted the new simplisafe outdoor camera. They run $170 each. BB had a set with 2 outdoor cameras and a bunch of other stuff for $238, $100 cheaper than buying the cameras by themselves! My sister and I both bought one.

I just got the ads for the 2 sale days, Nov 3 and Nov 10 (I am currently a + member). Didn't see anything I was majorly excited about.

I got a really good deal on something I was looking for last year at the early November weekend sale.

OK, a one week, all-inclusive houseboat trip. The houseboat would be the Titan that sleeps 22 so my hubby, kids and grandkids could all go on a nice trip together!

I hear ya...guess who was first in line to get toilet paper, paper towels, disinfectant wipes, etc when the pandemic shut everything down, lol! I betcha they won't laugh anymore, never hurts to be prepared.

I haven't seen as much of that recently, or at least not as bad. It seems like they have been trying to be more upfront to avoid high levels of customer disappointment.

I remember back in the day (I won't say which day) layaway was all the rage. Kmart was it! Before WM was a household name. Used layaway all the time. Then as I got a little better financial footing I didn't use as much, it's been decades. Now I use paypal credit online for anything over $100, you get 6 mos no interest. They even run deals for longer periods throughout the year. More and more online stores are taking paypal as a method of payment and you do get some level of protection with your purchase. Better than layaway! (In my opinion)

I hope they do at least offer free shipping so that no one has to risk their health if they feel uncomfortable with the situation in their shopping area.

Maybe if there are a lot of shortages they will offer some sort of reservations for certain things like they do for the cell phones. Then you come back at a later date to get the item?
