Pillow Pets in all shapes and those Crayola Presto Dots seem to be big hits here.

Not enough this year to make me really want to get out of bed and brave the cold. The only major electronic I need won't be on sale anyway (macbook) and the other stuff I'm willing to pay a couple bucks more for in exchange for not fighting the crowds.
-
I was at Kohls today to pick up some pants for DD. I saw many of the same items this BF ad has.. all of it already sale priced and not that much different from the BF ad. Prices are so-so. Nothing I "have" to have... certainly nothing I'd be willing to go back and fight BF crowds for. Editing to add... they had the Tonka Might Truck 2pack near where the girls clothing is. I thought it would make a great gift for my nephew so I grabbed one ... I paid 28.79 today. The 50% off ad price is listed at $29.99

I never find household stuff on clearance. I would load up on the paper towels and pump soap... who cares about the decorations.. they still work! But no matter how much I stalk, those kind of items never seem to hit clearance here. -
Heck, I'd flat out tell the family - we are planning on cutting back this year for the holidays. Its none of their business why, but if there is any question "the economy" is certainly reason enough. In the case of your sister you can tell her that you are planning on getting little Jimmie, Susie, and Bobbie subscriptions to good kids magazines (reading, the gift that keeps giving)... and let her deal with it. If she wants to be a snot about it too bad for her.

We have purchased sets from all over - but my best "deals" so far were clearance LED's at Target. I have not really noticed any fading - and we live in the desert.. LOL But I know that full sun exposure can cause fading even in regular lights, so that could be whats going on. Less sets? I'm pretty sure that is against my husbands DNA code or something. :) I can't say I noticed a huge savings on the bill. Dh has been steadily replacing strands every year - as well as putting up new - so maybe thats why. At least the bill hasn't been any More than previous years. I figure even if we're not saving a lot of $, at least we're using less power and thats better for us and the environment. As for cone vs round - I like them both, but for the outdoor stuff I think I prefer the cone. The seem to make a brighter light.

Let see.. considering weather and crowd conditions... I think I'd dress up as a little old man. I could wear as many layers and mismatched items as needed to keep warm... nobody would think it was odd. And nobody would suspect the sneaky speed with which I would beat them to the good deals! LOL -
19.99 at Walgreens I'm sure they will go on sale before the actual holiday. DD would love one, but the two my friend bough had crappy seams. Anyone else have problems?

Are Black Friday Sales REALLY that great or is it just the thrill?
redraccoon replied to bfaddict1977's topic in 2010
Depends on what I'm after. I have made some awesome purchases on toys and other things that I had already been planning on buying. In some cases I saved over half off the price. Definately worth it. Joann fabric is probably my only "must" shop stop... I can get a lot of fabric and doo-dads for sewing for CHEAP. I always buy extra to make blankets for homeless kids and for the Linus Project. Dh and I have kind of made it a tradition - we shop then go out to breakfast :) It worth it just for the people watching. You see people being extra nice and you see people freaking out. Certainly helps put the holidays in perspective. -
Even in one color you could have flames coming out of the back of the shopping cart - oh, and the cart doing a wheelie! LOL

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2010

Thanks for the link - that will be useful in the future. Went to Target for some papergoods and such. Found NOTHING worth buying in any of the clearance. Toys are picked over and only 30%... no tea or icecream makers. And the summer stuff - both furniture and toys are all still at full price. Bummer -

Can someone help find the link to check by DCPI if an item is in stock? I seem to have lost my bookmark. -
I WANT it!!! Help me find it!

Try Michaels craft store - they usually carry a good variety of frames. If they don't have it, they may be able to order it. And they can certainly custom craft one - you can get a coupon for 40-50% custom framing in almost every flyer. http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=fr0364 -
Target Back in Black Friday in July! This Friday Only!
redraccoon replied to Jen8112's topic in Online Hot Deals
Just browsed a bunch of the stuff.... meh.. deals aren't that great, and nothing I just have to have. -
I was at the newer Albuquerque store on Wyoming - except for the clothes all the other clearance stuff was in carts near the doors. I'm sure the stuff went fast.
-
Had to make a midnight run to walmart for milk. They had already clearance marked everything 4th of July execept the fireworks. LOL I got DD a red flag shirt, pink flag nightgown, and some red/white/blue flip flops for just $1 each All paper goods were marked way down - picked up some napkins for .50. They had plastic trays and cups too. I'm sure the stuff will go fast!

Scant pickings in Albuquerque. Patio stuff was only 30% - and only some of the stuff. Hardly anything worth looking at in clothes or toys either. -

All these great deals... but NOTHING here. Either the items are not clearanced at all here (regular prices) or they've been wiped out. I think the employees are getting most of the stuff... -

No batteries. Tried everyting... bummed. Toy story only 30% off here. I did find ONE Pictureka penguin for $4.xx... but I never was able to locate a coupon so I passed. Nothing else really great on sale ... guess it saves me money though! -
The Target we went to didn't have them out yet. Dh had to finally ask - and the guy went in the back to get one. They only had 20 Two days later I went to a different Target with my mom.. .they had a ton of them on a endcap, and nobody even seemed to be noticing them. I picked up 4. In the gift closet for future "emergencies" lol
