  1. I found that most of what I am shopping for was not on sale and that there were not enough awesome deals to make me want to fight the crowds or open up the wallet to spend extra. Yes, I did buy a few things - but definitely did not spend like I have in years past.
  2. I got the Target items I wanted online - no waiting in line and no crazy crowd!
  3. Usually I go with the spouse - its easier to zip through the whole store if there are two of us.
  4. There were lots of copies of the Lego movie around in blu ray and dvd - but the brick sets were flying out of there. I think the display was wiped out in less than ten minutes.
  5. I wasn't going to go out... but too much family in too little space led me to escape to walmart for some people watching and bargin hunting. Despite not being there at the start of the event I was able to stroll right back and get the DVD player I wanted. I walked around and was able to pick up some little things like the socks, promo dvd's, and sandisc, My walmart had everything laid out according to their map - and for the most part the traffic went along pretty well. They had yellow tape everywhere marking traffic lanes and helping keep people from jumping lanes. I heard some people complaining about things like the hot toys being in the produce section..... but hey, at least it was on the map! Even the check out seemed to go pretty fast. Overall a positive experience.... I'm just still not thrilled about the Thursday sales. I checked it out. It was ok, but it definitely didn't motivate me to spend any extra money - and I wont be going back for Friday or Saturday sale stuff.....
  6. Yay... thought I'd check one more time before heading to bed -- got the Razor scooter and pillow that wasn't coming up earlier! Oh, and the Monster High dvd's that I forgot the first time. Done for tonight!
  7. Got oh-so-exciting sheet sets for our spare bed - boring yes, but something I was after. Free shipping means I don't have to face any crowds at all. Yay!

    JoAnn Fabric Ad

Yes, that is a good deal - so go early, because the best selection will go fast
  9. The full zip hoody's I ordered arrived promptly. I checked the fabric. Not super heavy weight - but thick enough, and not the glossy slippery stuff mentioned above. If they had been of that quality, they would be going back. All in all I think they were worth the price. Sizing and texture seem to be fine. I think my guys will like them.

Anti pill fleece solids and prints are 70% off on Saturday. Cozy flannel solids & snuggle flannel prints 75% off on Wed & Fri
  11. We make blankets to give to homeless kids - sometimes its the only thing they have that they can call their own. I help with other volunteer efforts and we usually adopt a kid from a giving tree.

    JoAnn Fabric Ad

Their ad is nowhere near as interesting as past years.... and I'm really disappointed that I'll have to schlep over there on Wednesday morning to get the fabric deals. That's their best seller and I know they won't have much left by Friday.
  13. I had to go into the ad and dig to the page with the map link - that one opened for me
  14. I'm on the look out for a good quality portable & adjustable basketball system - I've got a couple preloaded to my phone... I'll be watching while I'm waiting in line on Friday morning! LOL
  15. I didn't try ordering online - but I did find the Keurig and the Dragon 2 dvd set in my store. The dvd was not marked as being on sale, but it rang up for the right price.
  16. Yep, they should have seen someone trying to exploit this. Notice they were quick to close the "loophole" http://www.cnbc.com/id/102199267 Wednesday afternoon, a Wal-Mart spokesman told CNBC that the retailer's policy has been updated as a result of the fraud. The updated policy on Walmart.com notes stores will not honor prices from marketplace vendors, third-party seller, auction sites or sites requiring memberships. "We can't tolerate fraud or attempts to trick our cashiers," Wal-Mart said, in a statement. "This kind of activity is unfair to the millions of customers who count on us every day for honest value."
  17. Most of the pullover sweatshirts have this FEATURES: •MATERIAL: Polyester blend •FIT: Classic I got full zip hoodies that are this FEATURES: •FABRIC: Poly/cotton blend •FIT: Relaxed I've never seen the heavyweight cotton sweatshirts for this kind of price.
  18. Is this for the Shop Your Way thing.... I think I have that ... going to check eta... to answer own question - Yes SYW rewards and blah... nothing I need on this one
  19. Stocking stuffers ahoy!!! I need TWO keurigs... may as well grab those too
  20. What a drag... I can get there - but a bunch of my blanket making buddies cant. And I know that by Friday the best of the fabric will be gone. I HATE that this BF thing has turned into a whole week mess.
  21. Usually the youngest gets to play Santa and pass out several gifts to each person before they start on their pile.... then its kind of whoever is closest to the tree hands out the rest
  22. The spouse and kids will be dragging out the storage boxes as soon as they recover from eating Thanksgiving dinner. A far more family oriented activity than SHOPPING!
  23. So from the look of the front page of the ad - the door busters will be available Wednesday? If that's the case it looks like I'll be waiting Wednesday morning for them to open! The 75% off the flannel listed is like my BIG purchase every year. I use that to make PJ's for the family for Christmas - and for Linus Project blankets. If the fabric is available on Wednesday there won't be much left to pick from on Friday! Anyone have an "in" with Joann that could clarify??
