  1. i used to see them listed in ads as macy's east & macy's west, so i always assumed they basically operated as 2 different stores
  2. there's a new walgreens circular with prices good today thru saturday (12/3) that includes $3.99 - all neutrogena lip color, eye makeup remover, & mascara (reg 5.49-8.99) & a ton of stuff b1g1 for 1 cent, incl palmolive (2/1.60), loreal lip (2/7) & nail (2/4), holiday gift bags (2/2), wrap (2/6), & gift tags (2/2), 300 ct lights (2/10), & hershey's pot of gold (2/7.96)
  3. wow, you're really not having much luck with this jacket huh? keep pressing on - if you call or send an email (calling would prob be better) demand to speak to a supervisor & threaten to stop shopping at target altogether
  4. im sorry to say this but everyone complains about target but ultimately it's their own fault for either not being familiar with the policies, not keeping their receipts, or waiting too long to return things (if you have a problem with things breaking etc just after the return window is up, charge on amex or (i believe) visa, which offer automatic built-in protection plans) i once bought a pair of jeans from kohls then had to return them but had lost my receipt (apparently no look-up, even tho i paid with a kohls card) & would only have gotten $3 back w/o it, but it was my fault for losing the receipt in the first place
  5. watching home alone as we speak
  6. old navy was one of my 6 bf stops...everything i got was $10, including a guys' button-down collared shirt (reg $25), velour separates for me, & a half-zip fleece jacket, plus boys' polos 2/$10...long checkout line, but everyone got a scratch-off card (mine was for $10 off $50, so i got all my stuff for $40) & a little breakfast bar at the door, which i thought was great
  7. isnt that the thing they have the lego version of that retails for like $100?
  8. as soon as i started decorating the tree myself (as opposed to me & my parents), i realized we had WAY too many ornaments to put them all up every year, so i instituted a yearly theme...last year was red, this year is blue, & this year i've extended it to the rest of the decorations too
  9. i completely understand that policy...ppl often bring things back & just expect the store to give them what they say they paid for it, but to their surprise it's now on clearance for 48 cents or something...it's really not hard to keep track of receipts (my mom keeps an envelope for each month & as soon as she comes home puts the receipt right in it), plus they can now do credit card look-up so you dont need a receipt in that case still, it's the customer's responsibility to keep their receipt
  10. lousy...a sinus infection has me sidelined during my prime shopping & decorating time, so all i have is one string of lights up on the porch (currently getting rained on) & some garland up inside
  11. what's wrong with their in-store policies? ive never had any problems
  12. hmm...perhaps call the customer service number again & ask to speak to a supervisor, & cite both the fact that you don't have a local target at which to purchase the item & that if you had known of this non-existant exchange policy you would never have ordered the item in the first place? that may put them in a bargaining mood tho for the most part, unless the item is damaged during shipping, it's your responsibility to pay for return shipping...a way around this may be to cite that you relied on their size chart, which you found to be inaccurate
  13. you only have one local target? we have like 8 w/i an hour of us...try doing store locator & go to the next closest one to see if they have it in the store
  14. oo that's genius!
  15. ditto on the paper thing others have said...in terms of quantity, i always got a lot of presents from santa & just a few from my parents, with the understanding that it was santa's job to get me the stuff i wanted
  16. oo us too! i know how to say it but not how to spell it (im thinking opwatki?)
  17. kmart (at least around here) is the dirtiest, nastiest, most dissheveled, least appealing store year-round...there's one w/i walking distance of my house but i drive 15 mins to target or 20 mins to walmart w/o hesitation for all my basics
  18. I'm on the young side (the year of the cabbage patch insanity was the year i was born) , & it's still jarring to me to see things that were big when i was a kid coming back...i keep saying i shouldve kept my my little ponies for my 2 yo neighbor! i guess 20 or so years is the amt of time it takes for things to go away & come back?
  19. So in recent years people have battled each other in stores for Furbies, Tickle Me Elmo, etc...what stands out this year as the must-have toy? I've seen that tumbling Tigger around a lot, & Dora stuff seems to be big, but what's #1?
  20. i dont foresee getting any big-ticket doorbusters so there's no way i'm going the night before...if there are several hot toys or smaller electronics i'll go same time as this year (3:30 for a 5 opening), but if there are only a few things I won't get there till opening time (the walmart i went to still had a handful of what i was there for by the time i left around quarter to 6)...there's no point in being at the front of the line when the doors open, it seems, bc everyone rushes the door & it doesnt matter how long you've been there since people who just got there blend in with the line
  21. oo la la, ive been looking for some special deal to be able to add to my dvd collection, thanks!
  22. ditto, nothing but hype
