BF items you bought for yourself - Now, or wait for Christmas?
queenofshopping replied to JBKing's topic in 2005
everything i grabbed for myself i gave to my mom for her to give me for xmas...less shopping for her to do, & as i always remind her, i spend about half of what she would (bc she never looks for any sales) -
Did anyone else buy a DVD Recorder? (final nail in the coffin for my VCR)
queenofshopping replied to Marcster's topic in 2005
i ordered the samsung one on bb.com, but will get it for $30 less than the advertised price thanks to a tipster on gottadeal! i still cant give up my tapes tho, cumbersome as they are (in part bc i have a tv/vcr combo i wont give up till it explodes!) -

hmm didnt really have a set amt, took $150 in cash & only spent $60 of that, but charged another $110 (& getting like $30 back in rebates)

How early does everyone put their lights up? I'm just curious bc I want to do them what seems like early this year (like this weekend), but is this really early, about right, or late to most people?
-
our wm, fortunately, had a huge pile of them, but even that was depleted about a 1/2 hr after the store opened...i went to toys first & scored my one yellow one, but they went to fast bc so many people were taking like 4 each
-
mtjoycol - people were at walmart here at 4am in 0 degree (w/ wind chill) temps with babies in carriers...sickening
-
i decided not to assume or hope anyone was doing pm'ing if i didnt know for sure they were, so i just went straight to walmart

If you could do it all over again, what would you change?
queenofshopping replied to RossMAN's topic in 2005
i was out for about 6 hrs & calculated i saved about $150, so i saved almost $25/hr -
100% their fault, i'd fight it (hope the same thing doesnt happen w/ my dvdr! )

thanks to walmart for opening the doors to let people use the bathroom (even tho i didnt have to) to the 2 ladies on line with me at wm for taking turns holding places while one of us at a time walked around to warm up to one of those 2 ladies on line for finding me & pointing out something i had mentioned i wanted (we tag-teamed, & i grabbed stuff while she waited with the cart bc carts couldnt move anywhere) to the kohl's worker who got me a bag for the stuff i was carrying and a HUGE thanks to walmart for price matching!!!!!! saved me at least 3 stops, best deal of the day :banana01:

wouldve worn 3 pairs of socks (2 was not enough) wouldve brought a stun gun to use on the dozens of people who rushed the door when wm opened :curse: -
i always remember them being *the* pm'ing store, & i think they suffered a lot this year bc of walmart's picking up where they left off...by 6:20 the toy r us i went to was no more crowded than on a normal day

Vote for the best BF store of 2005
queenofshopping replied to a topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
in all those categories besides customer service (not to mention crowd control) i have to say walmart - they had some of the best deals, not to mention pm'ing which saved me TONS of time, they advertised everywhere (& early), there were plenty of the hot items (excluding, of course, computers, but thay happens everywhere), & the checkout went faster than it would on a normal day! for customer service i'd say kohls -
target's gonna have nintendo ds for $100 in december (cheaper than anywhere on bf) so im sure gba will be on sale again somewhere
-
Dunno if this was offered for aol people only, but via their shopping area, avon.com has free shipping on any order & a gift if u spend $60...otherwise the site says free shipping on $40+. code: ANYBF UPDATE: now says good all weekend!

i know how u feel, i have a sinus infection & my mom said she was so worried about me being outside for hours in single-degree temps she couldnt sleep last nite

I keep seeing on the news all these people going to macy's...cnn said there were a thousand people lined up for the 6am opening in herald square (nyc)...wth are they there for? I hate Macy's as it is, I cant imagine what would be good enough for lining up the way people do at Walmart! oo as i type gottadeal.com is on cnn! (4:17pm E)
-
nope, boycotted, didnt even look at the ad
-
same thing at mine, as soon as the doors opened people who had just gotten there ran over & tried to make it look like they had been in line while me & others who had been there since 3:30 or earlier tried to get the cops to do something but all they did was yell, not really a good enough motivator...they really need to put up some kind of barrier so there's a single-file line of people who have been there all morning flowing in once the doors open
-
looked for the first call of duty for ps2 at walmart to pm cc's price ($9.99) but i didnt see it & the employee by the video games just said uh look in the case but thankfully that was it
-
same thing at mine - very long line, but employees were very friendly. one got me a bag to carry my things in when she saw i was kicking stuff along the floor as we moved up in line, & someone was running back & forth near the registers directing people to whichever register would be available next...even tho the line stretched to the back of the store, i only had to wait 15 mins
