Congrats to the winners. I hope some of these predictions start coming true soon.

Most of the stuff I would usually buy would be for myself. Granted I didn't spend 100's of dollars, but I did find a lot of stuff for myself. I would find stuff for other people as well. I think the one year I bought only for other people was the first year I bought online, and it worked out well enough that I buy for other people online, then if I go to the stores, I get stuff for me.

I don't see what the big deal is paying extra if you get all the inserts if you get the single issue. I would pay Sunday prices if it had them all in there. I understand the fuss if you subscribe and they spring on the extra charges to you though. It won't matter in a few years when Black Friday will be Black Monday and all the ads will be in the Sunday paper anyways. The way it keeps moving up, I bet that will happen by 2020. It's not like Amazon doesn't do it anyways.

I'm going to guess K-Mart on October 24th. They will probably leak it themselves to create some Friday buzz.

just an idea for a slogan: Take the GottaDeal Challenge! Try to find a better Black Friday site.

"The Leftovers" thread... What's collecting dust in stores?
rockpzazz replied to 1whodatdare's topic in 2013
Promo DVDs were on the shelves at normal prices at my local walmart. Still had PJ's, picture frames, and the chest's in the middle aisles for BF prices I believe. Didn't look too long because I wanted to get home before the temperature plummeted. -
I didn't mind the earlier opening times, but for the true BF shoppers it does take away from the fun of planning and staying up all night and such. I liked how retailers stepped up the online shopping experience though wish they were a bit more uniform in terms of when they started listing items online to sell. I felt for the most part Amazon was a little worse this year in terms of the calendar deals (keeping and posting a schedule in advance), but it made it more of a game and a thrill to watch what was posted next. From the aftermath of this year, I would be inclined to say the DAY of Black Friday is dead, but from the ashes comes more deals throughout the week, and from the big ads being posted earlier, maybe in future years, deals may begin in a lot of places at the start of November.

I only went once to Menards, but saw people use the trash cans and even the wheeled coolers. At the time I thought it was a dumb idea, but realized it made a lot more sense then using carts/ That is even if you could get a cart.

I was able to get Madden 25 like I wanted last night on Amazon. After that I was finished. Though today I did buy a bunch of cards from the website comc.com (Check Out My Cards). Free shipping if you bought more than 20 cards and entered to win a shopping spree. Now I am going to go to Walmart and see what leftover DVD's they have. Hope to get Rudolph but didn't even see it last night. Might just browse and see whats left otherwise since I don't need anything else.

I'm curious what the Special Edition Saints Row IV sells for in about an hour. I won't be home, so I can't get it, but its going for $45 right now, and thats almost a steal. The extras are almost icing on the cake. The special edition is normally sold for $100 it says. Back from the only store I planned on going to. In and out in 45 minutes at Walmart (would have been faster, but a little confusion prevented that). Anyways my haul was 2 Disney Movies- Little Mermaid and Monsters U on Bluray. Cheap DVD's of Hot Tub Time Machine, Horrible Bosses, and Here Comes The Boom. NCAA 14 for the 360, 2 of the $5 Hot Wheels, and the rubbermaid plastic. Now to wait for the Madden 25 deal on Amazon and I'll be set. I have to go to Walmart tomorrow again, so I might get more DVD's. I really just wanted the games. Thought about the $98 TV but I passed.

Manager Specials are listed now. Nothing real impressive I don't think except $29 for the Magic Bullet.

Here is the Black Friday ad for Orscheln Farm and Home. It is a a local store comparable to farm type stores with most of their locations in Missouri. http://orschelnfarmandhome.shoplocal.com/sclite/sclite.html#!/orschelnfarmandhome/store/2654110/Orscheln-131128/5/

just as an update, no BF ads in the Kansas City Star, but they did have quite a few 4 day pre-BF ads. Also had a few holiday inserts like recipes and such.
-
I'm disappointed so far. I liked it in previous years where the movies was listed for all week not just a few days at a time. Maybe that will change at some point today, at least I hope. Plus it seems for the days they have posted, they don't have as many deals. Also while I was looking in the video games, I saw no mention of a sale for NCAA 14. I figured it would be somewhere. Might miss out on the Madden deal too since its going to be on sale the same time as Walmart begins their sale. I'm sure it will pick up soon, but movies and music is all I was looking to get on Amazon. At least the music selection was varied, but nothing I really needed.

I got my shirt yesterday. Thanks again.

Thanks so much. I remember in years past I have done this but haven't in quite a while. I noticed on the walmart page that if you look at the ad on there and click on each dvd section it will link you to movies available for that price range (it isn't for sale for the BF price, but it looks like you can add them to your cart). Quite a few listed on there and I hope to buy a few through their site instead of just going to the store to get DVDs. If you want in the next couple days, I might try to get all the TV shows in a list and post them. Unless someone else wants to try it. I love the fact that Amazon price matches a majority of the DVD's, I just wish they didn't have them at different parts of the day as it's difficult to get all the ones I want.

This site sounds right up your alley. I found it last year, but didn't buy anything. Thought about getting some bacon candy canes for my nephews. http://mcphee.com/shop/all-products.html

I was hoping to see $25 deal for Madden or NCAA 14. I would like to get both, but don't want to pay over $50 total. Overall I think its a good ad, one of the better ones so far.

Black Friday Webcast Thread - Details, Schedule & More
rockpzazz replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2013
good show last night. I listened for quite a while but didn't sign in. I do like the livestream site better than sites used in the past. -
In Mid-Missouri (and I think the KC Star and St. Louis Post Dispatch), they are usually put in the Wednesday editions of the papers. I would assume that would be the case this year. However, a couple ads tend to sneak in on the Sunday edition too (smaller and regional stores). It's also good to get the Sunday papers anyways because Target has a half-week ad that in the past couple years have had some decent deals.
-
I think its great they are stying closed on Thanksgiving (I'm not against stores being open, I just love how they didn't do it because they felt pressured). As for the ad, I saw a couple good things, but nothing I would be upset about not getting. Though I do like those heaters.

My all-time favorite is the black and white 1947 version of Miracle on 34th Street. I can't even watch the colorized version, and don't get me started on the remake. My other faves are: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation A Christmas Story Home Alone That doesn't include the old TV shows like Rudolph, Grinch, and Frosty.
-
This is more for the people who stand in line or stay overnight (not sure how that will work with a lot of stores opening on Thanksgiving evening), but have a contest of the best tailgate party (for those who take pictures) and the winners will get T-shirts next year. Another idea is maybe anyone who is interviewed for the news with a GD shirt automatically wins a t-shirt for next year. and finally for those who make videos on youtube, whoever has the most creative Gottadeal video created wins a T-shirt. You must include a link to the video.

When did Ace start selling Craftsmen products? I thought they were Sears exclusive.
