In a similar vein to best and worst memories, what are some of the best and worst gifts you've given from Black Friday shopping. I guess I should explain a bit more. I don't mean the hottest gift you've give, but more like the best and worst reaction as results of a gift you've bought for someone on Black Friday. I'm trying to think of the worst gift, one that didn't turn out as planned was the first year I did my shopping online a few years ago. I bought my niece one of those ride on cars, not a battery powered car, but one you'd push. Anyways, since she was so young I don't know if she really knew what it was, and since she got so many other gifts, she never really played with it. I'm not disappointed as it was fun just trying to be able to order it, especially since I wasn't used to Target's website so it took a while to figure it out. Incidentally one of the best gifts I got was the same year also as a result of online shopping. I bought a few things online at Best Buy and needed about 10 bucks or so more to get free shipping. So I thought of random things to get, and looked at CD's. I found a couple Janis Joplin CD's that I knew my mom didn't have so I added them in the cart since they gave me just enough for the free shipping. I bundled them together with the big gift I got her, and she was much happier with the CD's. She is a big fan of Janis Joplin (I'm not so much), but she later told me she gets tired of hearing the same songs they always play on the radio and these had other songs on them, including her favorite. It just shows the best gift isn't always the ones you plan on buying, and the worst gift could be the one you figured would be the biggest hit. So anybody else have best and worst gifts they'd like to share.

1. The Best Buy shoppers are in-tents! 2. Oprah staffers decided that instead of cars, they would give out TV's instead. 3. "Duck, or you're gonna be talking out of your..." (I should keep this family friendly). Looking at these pictures made me think of how people have all kind of 5K events for charities, they should have a shopping 5K where you just have to go from store to store and get a doorbuster at each store. That could be a fun challenge.

Good job winners!

Thanks for all that information. I will keep my eye out this season then.

I'm hoping to find a good deal on a Roku this year, I have gotten a few gift cards built up through Amazon and hope it covers most of it. I've also built up some cash through Walmart's Savings Catcher so whichever I can find a better deal on I'd like to get. I hear the 2105 models of the Roku 1 and 3 are the same just with voice on 3 and a headphone jack, is that true?

When I first started reading the guesses, I was going to say Half Price Books, but would have likely said around the 11th or so. Oh well, I'm late to the party but glad the first ad is out, now time to see some more.

I really like this design. I've liked all the previous years too, but this is a nice alternative from previous years.

First off, sorry for all caps, but I missed Black Friday.... ALL OF IT! On the 13th of November I signed up for Amazon Prime free trial and was ready to enjoy Black Friday. Then a couple hours later my phone and internet was turned off. I forgot to pay the bill, and didn't have it in my budget, and as things went on, I wasn't able to get it turned back on until today. I don't look for much anymore on Black Friday sales, mainly cheap DVD's, but it still kinda sucked. A couple other bills came and before I knew it I couldn't even make plans to go to the stores for sales. I might look for some sales now, but it was weird as this was the first time in almost 14 years I missed out on some aspect of actual BF sales. One thing I am thankful for though is this website as I still love seeing the ads, and it allows me to live vicariously though those that were able to get some great deals. Maybe next year I will budget better (or maybe win the lottery).

Deals look on par with other stores. The $99 computer looks similar to one my sister had. It took me a while to get use to the 11 inch screen, but it was pretty good. I wish a Staples was closer to me, because I would consider going there for a couple deals instead of Walmart since I figure there wouldn't be as much traffic.

I have seen the Hershey's Bells commercial already on TV. I forgot about the Santa Packs one. I liked that one too. As for Sun-Drop, I love the drink, but wow, I am not sure about that video. I can understand the love/hate towards it. After I started this topic I looked around youtube and saw a couple lists of nothing but Christmas commercials. One featured another one I use to love- Fruity Pebbles with Santa Claus. I'll edit this to post the video later.

I'm waiting for Gamestop, Staples, and then smaller places like Orscheln's and Hibbett's (which tweeted me that I should expect an email soon on BF deals). I enjoy the smaller businesses especially if I've never seen ads from them before.

Am I crazy or does the $30 Legos sound like an amazing deal? I think they are still overpriced, but 1600 pieces for that much sounds incredible.

Thank you, I just got an email from another site (which I'm not sure why) about this ad, so I came here to look for it. Not bad for Big Lots, but not one I need to rush out to.

I love looking out for new Christmas and other Holiday commercials each year. I thought I would ask what everyone's favorite commercials from Christmas past and present. If you can find a link, please post it. One of my all time favorites is the Folger's commercial with Peter. I try to find it each year. http://youtu.be/wGlpMDHmF7Q

I might have to tune in, unless I forget. Maybe I should find a good BF deal on an alarm clock. -
WOW! Having previously not considered doing much shopping, I may have to reconsider. I can't believe some of those prices. I'll have to check their site to see the rest of the movies on sale.

Congrats to everyone. Lots of good gift ideas too.

Not too bad, I might look into some of the NCAA stuff online.

I have the Bumble one, and I love it. One year I want to get more inflatables but since I won't be able to do it this year, I'll wait to do it. I have always wanted a globe of some sort, so if it was me I would go with that.

I'm not a Sam's Club member, but even if I was, I would likely skip this one. It's funny how some ads everyone loves and some don't, while some everyone hates and some love. I liked the Kmart ad much better and didn't see a lot in this one, but maybe its just me. I think there are some good deals here, just none for me.

I thought they had some pretty decent deals. I'm not in the market for a lot of what they are selling, but the bikes seemed enticing. So did the shoe sale. I just wish they had more deals and better deals on DVDs.
-
One of the better ads I've seen so far. Too bad the closest one is 150 miles away from me.
-
I don't shop for furniture and such very often, but those look like some pretty good deals.

The closet Target to me is 45 miles away. I am glad its not on the list. It is inside a mall, but I would really prefer it be a Super Target standalone store. The town has one Target, but 4 Walmart's. Though a lot of the Walmart heirs and relatives do live in the town so I guess it makes sense.
