Pink NFL Hats - $2 each at Champssports.com
amyers12345 replied to JJ_61755's topic in Online Hot Deals
That really stinks. I looked at these 3 days ago, when I placed my shoe order. They were still full price. Now, all of cheap shoes are gone. -
I ended up getting her the Barbie Power Wheels from Walmart BF. I also got her the Little Mommy set from Target. The funny thing is, when we got back from shopping, I gave her the Target and Walmart ads and made her pick out what she wanted. It was each of those things, and she has carried the ads around all weekend! I also got in on the 2/$15 leapster games, so we may get her one of those, too, if I can find a good deal. If not, I'll put the games up and get her one for her B-day next summer. Thanks for all of the help guys!!!

There are 2 people on the card list without their screen names. Kristi Barden and Chris Hernandez. Do you have them, Eve? And, what about sending hand-made gifts? I know there is a price minimum, but I would like to add something special to the gift. Is that okay?

That looks like a screw-up in shipping to me. Typically when they print the packing lists, it is on label paper, and the other half is the shipping label. Someone probably thought they needed to stick on all stickers. That is crazy, I'm glad your kiddos didn't find it. I would call them, to prevent further problems. -

*** Official WHAT DID YOU GET? / YOUR EXPERIENCES Discussion Thread ***

I know some of you may not agree with this, and others may be able to use my tip.. There were so many preventable things go wrong with BF in our town. I wasn't as into it as I normally am. Plus, we had something come up last night, where we got very little sleep. I didn't receive the ads in the paper I needed to PM at our local WM, so I had to go into the city. There was an assault in our WM. Strange, because we got there at 10 'til 5:00 and parked in the 4th spot from the door. I was actually the only one standing at a line of 5 toy pallets. For some reason, someone beat the tar out of a guy in electronics. (Plenty of people would like to, so it may not have been BF related). Then, we decide to drive 25 minutes to the city that has very few stores for such a population. They have 1 Target, 1 BB, 1 CC, 1 TRU, 3 WM's, and 3 KM's, for 200,000 people. The Target traffic was backed up for 6 miles to get in the lot. Someone decided to go by and throw eggs at the shoppers waiting outside. Then, we get to TRU, and there is a brawl, with cops everywhere. The line was snaking through every aisle in the store. We made it an 8th of the way in 45 minutes. We headed back to Target, and picked up 2 things and the line was approx 2-3 hours long. DH was in a line, where an employee told him to go. 30 minutes later, it turns out, they put several of them in a line where you could only check out if you had electronics (which he didn't). SO... I took my stuff to a dark corner with no BF stuff, and hid it (Target and TRU). We went out to breakfast, hit a couple of other stores, and when the crowds died down, we went and retrieved it. Of course, several people stopped us, wanting to know where we got the items, even an employee stopped us at Target. But, I was there early, I waited patiently, and I got my items. But, when the line becomes that dangerous, I definitely felt fine with skipping the lines. We walked right up to an empty register! -
What do you consider a "HOT ITEM" at Target this year?

The little mommy thing about got me into a riot. When we got there this morning, there were 2 left, but the checkout line was approx. 2 hours long. So, I went back and hid it under the outdoor decorations. I went back and snuck it out, and every woman stopped me, wanting to know exactly where I got it, or if I would give it to them. An employee even stopped me, demanding to know where it came from!!! I told them I found it stuck on an endcap in the back, and assumed someone had given up! I ran to an empty check out line and got the heck out of there! The towels were wiped out, too. -
I was missing CC, Gamestop, and TRU. We are 45 minutes away from the town that has them, but they are always in the Sunday paper. I went to the store and went through every one, nothing. Those 3 were the ones I needed to PM. Last year, Target was the only one I needed, and it was the only one I didn't get. Friends that live in the city got them all, many were duplicates!

How do you handle family fueds during the Holidays?
amyers12345 replied to amyers12345's topic in 2007
My dad has put his hard feelings aside to invite his parents, and I don't want to hurt him by not going. DH doesn't seem to see the problem with his mother the same way I do. I need to go to make them happy, but is that a sacrifice worth my misery? -
I am dreading our Thanksgiving dinners, my family, and the in-laws. I have reasons to, my grandparents have hurt my dad and the rest of us horribly this year, and we haven't spoken for months. It all stems from a failed promise, and then rumors started to save face. As far as the in-laws go, my daughter was gravely ill 3 weeks ago. She was airlifted from her doctor's office to a hospital an hour away. She had a virus that affected her lungs, and had dangerously low oxygen levels. My MIL lives with my BIL and cares for his son. She said she couldn't come to the hospital (10 mins from her house) because the son had a runny nose and she needed to care for him. We later found out that my nephew was at his mom's that week. He has always been the favorite, for unknown reasons. I cannot get over the fact that we almost lost my daughter, and she had to lie to get out of seeing her. DH and I are financially stable, and our kids are great. It angers me so much that we are not 'important' enough for them. We drove across the country the week before DD got sick to be there for his mom while his grandmother was ill. They didn't expect her to make it, and she unexpectedly pulled through. She couldn't even make a local phone call to check on DD. How can I go to these dinners and look these people in the eyes? It kills me that holidays have to be miserable for us due to everyone else's mistakes.

Well, I'm in for a shock. It's supposed to be 78 today, 75 tomorrow, 50 on Wednesday morning, dropping into the 20's by the afternoon. Then snowing and raining with highs in the 30's for TG and BF. YIKES!!!
-
I did get both of them a ton of costumes 90% at Target. I may have to make Santa bring a big dress up trunk! I like the Leapster idea.. what about the pixter? Is it worth anything? I see them on clearance all the time, and they are going to be $14 on BF at TRU. Also, has anyone ever gotten the Dora Powerwheels at Walmart on BF? We finally got a big storage building, so something like that may work. I can think of a few small things, but they will just get thrown in the mix of all of the other misfit toys! She still has 6 toys from last Christmas in the boxes in her closet. But, in my defense, those came from Amazon and Little Tikes amazing sales last year.

We got her a kitchen last year, which is why we have little room. She got a new bike for her birthday in August. That's what is making this so difficult, she has everything!!!

Target's Plans for week of 11/25th: Article in Twin Cities Paper
amyers12345 replied to kgm520's topic in 2007
Wow! I'd hate to have to pay taxes and insurance on a Masarati. I'd rather have them give away 5 times as many normal cars! -
I normally have everything figured out by now, but I'm clueless for DD. DS is usually the more difficult one, but I've got too much on his list this year. She loves music and arts and crafts. We are very limited on space, but she has an art desk, an aqua doodle, and a star station. Our Walmart has the I Can Play Piano on clearance for $30. I have thought about a Pixter or a Leapster. She has a GBA, though. She has no desire for the new Little Mommy dolls. She is dying for Butterscotch, but we really don't have a place to put her. DS8 is getting a wii and a .223 rifle. I can't come up with anything over $20 for her! What are some things your kids love? She is still too little to know the price difference, and last year, she got a playhouse, and DS got a bow. So, there was quite a difference there, too.

Do You or Will You Do Reconnaissance On Wednesday Night?
amyers12345 replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2007
I will head to different Walmarts this week to see who has things that I want PM'd. I may do that on Thursday night, since it is hard to see the fine print in the scanned ads. For example, my WM has never carried the Sports Pack for the wii, but they put out about 50 of the Nerf version the other day. They are amost $40, and I want to see how close they are to what CC has for 9.99. I will check games, DVD's, and toys, also, so I can see what I need to worry about. -
JumpStart World Software 3 CDs $3 shipped!
amyers12345 replied to jsmst35's topic in Online Hot Deals
I didn't receive that email, but checked my order status today. It showed only the software, and said my card had been charged a total of 0.00! Even better! -
The only thing I see at a great price is the Cricut. They retail for $138 at WM with no cartridges. The cartridges are $60 each. But, I remember seeing that they would up out another ad on Thursday. They have done that the past couple of years, otherwise known as the 'black and white' ad. This lowers many of the prices. Let's keep our fingers crossed! I have lots of stuff to PM there, though.

What about doing a little digging into their childhood, and finding that toy they wanted but never received? Ebay is perfect for that, and it would be something they never expected. That's my nice idea.. if you want to be mean, I'd make her some homemade fudge, with ex-lax. I think that's what mine's getting. She loves my fudge, so she'll never expect it! (yeah, a little tension there, could ya tell?)
