Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007
amyers12345 replied to 1angelnhvn's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Boy, I thought I hit the jackpot with the power ranger helmets today. I found 3, ringing up not found. I picked the boy cashier, and he let all of my expireds through. Then he did the helmets. I told him that I had picked one up for 4.96 at another store, but he said he had been looking at them himself, and they were much more. He called back and got the correct DPCI, and they rang up full price. I told him I had no idea, but I didn't want them for that much. I did get to use a ton of coupons, and got some cool dollar stuff at 75% off. Nothing else out of the ordinary though. They still had tons of slip and slides and water toys. -
I am anal about wrapping.. one of the few things. I have to have several cooridinating designs, one for DD, one for DS, etc. Even the tags have to match, all with hand-made bows. I don't do gift bags, because I agree that takes the fun out of it. Santa stuff does come in fun paper, because I'm so psycho. I usually find my paper at the DT, in late October. I try to buy enough, but I'm always short half a roll, so I find myself in there every Thursday, just digging away.

And THAT is why I should be voted BF queen!!!

Is RossMAN planning on being around this year? I didn't think he was going to be...

I always hit WM first, in the small towns. Much more likely to get stuff, because the nearest city has only one TG, BB, and CC, and there are over 200,000 people in it. They let us in early, so we don't need coats. I take walkie talkies, debit card in one pocket, license in the other, ads, and DH. Oh, and coffee.

I have never seen a kitchen or large play toy in the ads. There also won't be any sales on the newer items, such as the Wii, PS3, etc. They know consumers will buy those regardless. There will be hot wheels tracks, matchbox/hotwheels cars, a large stuffed doll, cabbage patch, a power wheels, remote control trucks/cars, etc.

best: I'm still thinking, but probably my EasyShare worst: One year, Santa brought me a pottery wheel, knowing that I have a horrible phobia of clay/play doh

I have seen this place on scrapbook boards. Apparently, their CS is horrible. They spam themselves on boards by creating several threads about themselves. But, on the other hand, from what I've seen, all merchandise is received in good condition, and in a timely manner. The prices aren't much different than sales at HL, Mike's, or AC. They are an affiliate of addictedtostamping.com.

I want the same thing every year, but I get so caught up in the material gift giving that I forget to ask for it. Someone to help clean up the paper/packaging and help put away the gifts in the aftermath. We go 10-12 places between Christmas eve-evening and Christmas night, and we are just home long enough to dump out and reload.
-
Exactly... I couldn't stand not to have gifts under the tree beforehand. Also, the more there are, the higher the risk of them getting found. Santa has brought more than one, if it's an accessory thing. Last year was a bow and a archery block, or a gamecube and games.

Can the OP add a poll to this thread? It would be much easier to see the average ages. I am in such a panic about this one.. I don't want it to be over!
-
yeah, that's coming from the guy that's already opened the holiday boards and who has made his fame by getting the ads out before anyone ever dreamed of! Not that we mind at all!! (just kind of funny)

WM and BB are working way too hard to keep them secret. I'm going w/ Ace Hardware.

Where is Eve, btw? I haven't seen her post in a loooong time. I'm in!

Colleen, I love making mini-scrap books out of paper bags. You can buy a huge stack of holiday paper for 9.88 at JoAnns, and paper bags are cheap. Fill them with photos, or leave them empty. i have posted directions somewhere here, I'll have to find them. For ideas, Ebay has tons if you search for 'paper bag album'. I am also making sets of cards this year, birthday/chrismas/thank you, etc. just a variety so recipients can always have some on hand.

Stop worrying about it earlier and earlier each year. That just gives you more time to panic. I like to get labor day over with first, August is our most hectic month. 13 birthdays (both kids, me, brother, mom, 4 nieces and nephews, and several that ought to be), back to school, vacation, softball, football, rodeos, etc. I need some recoup time. I get a little burnt out on the gift giving for a few weeks.

I'm not quite sure.. DS8 (barely) came home from summer school one day asking questions because some big kid told him that he caught his parents putting presents under the tree. I told him that maybe Santa had them set them out for him. He didn't buy it. I told him it was his choice, but if he picked the wrong one, he may be severely disappointed. DD2 had better believe!!

I was just going to post this. I think it might have been original price 199, and it's $65 at ours also. How odd, 2 walmarts with the same clearance price!! -
Mine usually go very smoothly, but I have a few stories. 2003 (I think): DH's 1st BF. I only took him because I wanted a trampoline and knew that it would be too heavy for me to get out of there. I try to convince him to take 2-way radios, but that was too geeky, he'd be alright. So, he stands and stands, and gets the trampoline, while I get everything else. He has it laid across the top of a cart. Instead of listening to me while I designated the meeting place, he pushed it in circles around the store looking for me. I was able to see him, but he couldn't hear or see me. I swear, he walked around, trying to push that huge trampoline through for 2 hours!! 2003: DH swore he'd never go back! 2004: Dh went back, swore he wouldn't again 2005: Dh went back, swore he wouldn't again. In our small town stores, we're always one of the first standing by the pallets. We know just about everyone, so we station each other at the most demanded items and take orders. (I know, some of you don't like that, but remember, we do this at 1:00 am, while most people are still in bed). We knew what would happen with the cabbage patch at WM, so we put the 2 stoutest women there- they are sisters, and they are MEAN! They were to get 13 of them. I look up to see the fighting, and the short one is in the bottom of hte pile, handing them out to her sister. They ended up with all 13, and then some. They gave whatever wasn't spoken for to the next people in line, who definitely couldn't have fought their way out of it. 2006: DH went back and secretly liked it. there was a couple with 6 kids, all under 6, trying to shop about 3 minutes after the plastic was cut. She was pushing the cart, but only one of the kids was in it. The oldest one got about 2 steps behind, and the dad grabbed him and started cussing him for not keeping up. They were dragging the sleepy kids through these masses of people, the babies didn't have a chance. While the dad was cussing the kid for about the 10th time I saw, I 'somehow' lost my footing as I was shoving my cart through the crowd and hit the man square in the gut. What business did they have taking all of those in there? 2007: DH is BEGGING to go.
