This is sad, but my BF shopping is mainly for the fun of it ( and the thrill of a good deal): As long as the loss of affiliation does not cause such a financial hardship to your one-man operation.... let them go! I want to do business with retailers who are willing to join us in this century, and work in partnership, instead of isolation.

I'd love to pick up some cheap-o ones for the grandparent, great grandparents, etc.

how do you know this? are they the regular system or a special BF package? might be the BF add promises a minimum per store, and they have to meet that. I don't think it is unfair... nothing says a store has to sell things... but not a stunt they can pull often. It is definitely frustrating

I worked at Kmart 10 or so years ago, and it was the same thing then. Our staff was friendly, and the town was small, so we would hear about it if you weren't friendly, but corporate hung us out to dry often. Some of the scheduling was in the hands of the store manager.... <sigh> I do not miss working retail
