We've had a discussion here that usually ends like this: "well, I know that if you have a trademark and you don't defend it, you can lose it, maybe copywriting is the same kind of thing" So, I am not a lawyer, but maybe if they don't defend it as a "trade secret" however halfheartedly then they can not claim it as a "trade secret" in the future?

Our loss control guy figured if someone was hiding stuff, they were either planning on stealing it, or waiting for the price to drop. He paid extra attention to those people.... But I don't remember him ever *doing* anything... so even if they see you...so what?
