  1. what's the size of the drawstring bag? i might be able to use it as a gym bag.
  2. if you want to stay with USAA, have you tried changing your deductibles/coverage around? i have a 1000 dollar deductible to keep my rates down.
  3. h&m really does have good prices. the only note with h&m is if you see it, get it, because it won't be there a month later. they change their selection VERY frequently. it is cheap euro chic
  4. i just go to ross. if i'm going to be cheap, at least i'll have a semi selection. i also go to department stores on the weekends (but later in the evening to avoid the crowds.) macys will have their 40% off but tack on an extra 25% off on weekends. this was my tactic to buy a lot of clothes for work. i like some of the isaac mizrahi stuff, and i was really excited when they had proenza schouler there, but the material just didn't feel nice or comfortable, and it's probably because they had to cut back somewhere to sell at the target price. i do, however, like the mossimo selection they have of the plain sweaters, shirts, etc because they fit great in my work wardrobe. they weren't that expensive to start, so target picking that line up wasn't that bad. i usually also outlet shop, if you have access to outlets. memorial day weekend is usually a huge sale weekend for them, so that'd be a great time to hit them up. some clothing is designed strictly for their outlet, but you can get some past season stuff or slightly irregular stuff (i haven't found the irregularities 95% of the time) at some good prices. you should see how much stuff i have from ralph lauren!
  5. definitely phone cards. or, she can just hop into any internet cafe - usage time is actually pretty affordable. i think in london it was only a couple of pounds at most per hour, and paris was a couple of euros at most. i bought a 10 pound calling card when i was at paddington station in london, and that gave me a TON of calling time, with low connection fees and i could use it in paris also. (actually i could use it in most of europe to call the US, and i called my mom... every two days and my bf nearly every day.)
  6. yeah that's what i thought would happen. walmart gets more money if you are a new verizon customer instead of an upgrade, since they get the commission for opening a new account through verizon. you could always do what i do - but unfortunately it requires changing your phone number each time. i just sign a new contract and cancel the old phone. the only catch is that you have to get a new number, and it has to be a different name on the account - so this time it's my mom opening the contract instead of me. but because there are so many incentives for opening new lines, i got my LG chocolate for free. (i didn't have to pay sales tax or activiation either that weekend.) and you have to be REALLY forceful when you're cancelling the phone line, they try whatever they can to keep you on. just tell them you're leaving the country, that usually works the best.
  7. walmart does verizon upgrades? i don't really like that samsung phone, it is just not fun like the LG. how long is the contract? if it it's not that long, you can just get the samsung and get another new phone next year. if it's two years, you'll have to decide how much you want to deal with for two years. i have the chocolate and i didn't want the other phones (well outside of the enV). my bf got the most basic LG when his contract was up because he doesn't do anything with his phone. believe me, i'll never use this phone for music - that's what i have the ipod for - but this phone was just more fun, and the other samsungs (which i love as a phone company) were just.. not appealing looking.
  8. where are you flying from? when are you going? are you flexible on your dates? i flew to europe for 550 (came out to 650 after taxes), LA to london, then paris back to LA. this was on american, and i just cruised the airline websites. but then i went in october, which is not the high season.
  9. we always bought from costco for larger fundraisers. if it was a smaller club, we just bought from grocery stores that had stuff on sale.
  10. my best buy had 33, but i was number 42 in line. oh well, til the next shipment.
  11. *grumble* i want true religions... anyways on the whole abercrombie jeans do last longer and have better quality. just be careful what you buy, because some of those women's jeans are down right skimpy. i also don't buy pants that are already torn up, i can do that myself for free. i nearly got a pair for 20 bucks at the abercrombie outlet a few months ago, but when i tried them on... um they looked like the "mom jeans" from SNL. needless to say, they went straight to the reject pile. i just think it's funny they used the name "hollister" for a store. that's a farm town in near central california.
  12. midweek one night is pretty cheap at most vegas hotels, since that's the quietest time of the week for them. you might be able to stay at a nice hotel for a very decent price.
  13. i saw these tvs at best buy yesterday, but this was in LA.
  14. i'm afraid my bf is going to see a wii magically in stock somewhere and run out and buy it.
  15. this is the most annoying invention known to mankind. my sister has one and it'll dance just at her phone ringing (because of the ring tone). sometimes i'd hear random barking and i'd want to rip the batteries out. good thing we have a real dog to play with, yeesh.
  16. they do this sale every year. they have some nice stuff and some stuff that's questionable. i'm wearing a pair of pj pants i got from them a while ago for 10 bucks.
  17. 1. check your local newspaper - it's running in the same places 2. check your local newspaper's website - there is one newspaper in southern california and at least one i know of in northern california that has all the fry's ads online.
  18. wow that laptop is 378 in northern california!
  19. that is my boyfriend's problem too! ARGH it frustrates me! he said he wanted this particular football jersey, so i plotted to get that for him. boom, he runs out and buys it. he wants a lacoste polo shirt. boom, he goes out and buys it. the one thing i know he won't run out and buy is a watch, but i don't have over 1k to spend on an omega seamaster. i'd suggest electronics add ons, clothes (if he's a sports nut, jerseys), or else ... something meaningful.
  20. i thought i'd never use my txt messages eiether... and now i'm a texting maniac
  21. check the store - i know at best buy, they put up a sign last year that said they will not be doing any kind of returns or credits during black friday.
  22. i knew a guy that dressed up as tigger while he was camped out in the star wars line. he did it more for warmth though...
  23. they are not in california. i really don't want to have to fork out the money for a real photographer, because we feel weird showing up at target in formal wear.
  24. it's so hard to get fry's ads... i think every year i wind up having to get a newspaper and then just scoping it out from there.
  25. omg i played with this thing in london. it was pretty interesting. i didn't realize they also had it here - i thought it was exclusive to that toy store.
