i have progressive, but because they let us combine our car policies without being married. otherwise, i probably would have kept paying the premium for AAA. try 21st century if it's offered in your area.

it's actually far-ish. to get to the convention center in the morning, in traffic, will probably take him at least half an hour by cab. i don't even want to think of the bus routes. and that's on city streets. if he dared to hop on the freeway, i know it's usually jammed in that direction because it's heading towards downtown. HOWEVER. there is a red line station at hollywood and western, which he could take to the wilshire station that connects with the blue linie, and he can take the blue line to pico, which is right at the convention center. www.mta.net helps out in planning bus routes/transportation routes. -
do you get any car wash discount coupons...
freesia39 replied to sanam's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
it's los angeles. HOA doesn't allow you to wash your car in the driveway, plus it's an apt building anyways, so it's not like i could do it. the regular car was is 12 or 13 bucks. but they wash the exterior, vacuum the interior, wipe everything down, etc. i usually tip them 2-3 bucks. and i make sure i hide all the change in my car. -

i'd get these back at home, or on the back of my grocery receipts now. now i'd just go early (8am) and it's only 7.99. -
i only have costco, so i go there all the time. except lately we don't want to deal with the weekend crowds, so we went to smart and final the other day. costco is SO much cheaper.

hmm. if he's willing to take the bus, there are some smaller hotels down olympic in ktown that might run to the convention center. there's this one called the "rotex" hotel (it's such a rip off of the word rolex). no possibility of a car rental? the company won't pick up the parking/rental fees? option number 2 is to stay somewhere near the redline, and then walk down a few blocks to the convention center (the red line is the pseudo LA subway.) it is possible, but might be a bit of walk. all day pass on the redline is 3 bucks i believe, or 1.25 each way. -

well it's not a bad area, as long as he stays on a major street such as olympic. if he stays on the convention center side of the 110 (if you look on a map, it's on the RIGHT of the 110 freeway), it's a lot nicer than the other side. i don't like walking around by myself at night, but you never know. there are bums that sleep under the freeway overpass, and i always hurry past them when we're walking back from staples. there are no motel 6's through their search of "los angeles, CA" that come close. -

the holiday inn near the convention center will be BOOKED. guaranteed. i live nearby in koreatown, but USCbecca is right - there will be a gazillion people in town for SC's grad. there are some smaller hotels near the convention center but not within walking distance. the rest of the hotels semi nearby are getting closer to the expensive upscale high rise hotels. you are looking for stuff on olympic blvd or figueroa to be close. http://www.lacvb.com/visitor/jsp/adetails.jsp?count=4&snum=1 would be about a 20 min walk though. however, i don't really like walking on that street in general, but do it during the day! http://www.lacvb.com/visitor/jsp/adetails.jsp?count=18&snum=11 is further out than that, but that's starting to get just too far to walk. he should also call the hotels and see if they'll provide a free shuttle to E3, and he may be able to stay a little bit further out. -
we asked and they kept going "oh we don't know."

i went over the weekend, and my bf picked up a seiko watched for 40% off - not bad. it's cheaper on ebay or other random online stores if he really looked, but he got to try it on in person and made a faster decision. i wanted to go back again. is it REALLY their last week?!

no super walmarts anywhere near me in metro LA. maybe in the suburbs soon, but do i want to drive all that way to save a bit, when i've been doing just fine shopping the sales over two or three grocery stores nearby? doubt it.

Is the Victoria secret sale over ?
freesia39 replied to sanam's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
it's the same price as online. it's just harder to root through stuff at the store. i went to the one near my office and was able to find more bras, which is good because i wanted to order more but didn't want to order another 100 bucks of stuff.
