Does your family/friends think you are *nuts* for shopping on BF?
BFQueenofNY replied to NeepNeep's topic in 2006
I am already known as a bizarre sale seeking shopper to start with. People usually find my stories and sales worth investigating. -
A leapster under $50

I have yet to see a BF line in front of Walmarts that doesn't erupt in at least one fight. That place is deadly

I go into the stores and everyone is complaining about the Christtmas stuff being out, but I have to tell you - I love it. Why shouldn't the good feeling start in October? Near my house a Christmas Tree Shoppe is opening on Nov 7th. I can't wait

Yes they do -
I think Elmo is going to be hot this year

I did last year and must admit I liked it. Don't get me wrong I like people to talk to, but I got it so streamlined it was great. Usually I get pissed off and annoyed because everyone else takes so long.

I am so glad I listened to my mil when she said to get a credit card to Kohl's. The sales are good and then you get even more off most times. I am looking forward to seeing their sales on BF, but it is too far away for door busters

Organization? (Do you carry ads with you? What about cash and wallets???)
BFQueenofNY replied to momof2many's topic in 2006
I break out my fanny pack that has my mini wallet containing my license, 2 credit cards, cash and my list (want and need are separate). Circulars are kept, in order of attack, on the front seat so we can take with us what we need only. I only wish my life was as planned out and organized as BF:rolleyes: -
Shop first - eat later. I put the toaster out so that if anyone is hungry before we start - they can bring a toaster waffle in the car.

Congrats to the new mods! -
At Walmarts at about 15 minutes to 5 a group of people gathered next to the line to get in. they got yelled at, cursed at, threatened - the obvious. When the doors opened they ran to cut the people in the front of the line and one lady got elbowed in the face and another got pushed into the door. I walked in as they were complaining and I just asked them was getting hurt worth trying to cut in front of people who had been standing in 10 degree cold for 3 hours? All they did was moan and groan.

I think all the Kaufmann's will be Macy's or Bloomingdales now that the May Company was bought by Federated Dept stores. I have not heard of the gc yet. I will ask someone the next time I have to go to the mall

Anyone else's local media discouraging shopping WM this season?
BFQueenofNY replied to Candy's topic in 2005
I work for an extremely large supermarket chain and our manager told us to say Happy Holidays and someone complained about that. I thought my boss did a good job explaining his stance in that - Suppose you were Jewish and you came into the store and spent $300 of your hard earned blood sweat and tears money on groceries you could have bought anywhere in the area. As you leave the employee said "Have a Merry Christmas, sir" Would you be offended or worse yet would you assume that the salesclerk was ignorant and make a rude comment? His take on it was that even during the "happiest time of the year" people take severe offense at some things and he didn't want the customers to be rude to us. The sad part is - alot will. Why add fuel to the fire? Let's be honest - Walmart wants their money regardless of what they tell you when you leave, they really don't care one bit what holiday you are shopping for or if it is happy, merry or otherwise one. -
What do you do while standing in line at the store?
BFQueenofNY replied to sigrist_2000's topic in 2005
we discuss where Walmart will be putting their hot ticket items - ie: last year the $4.24 appliances were down the card and seasonal aisle rather than an endcap where you would look first -
My Walmart is being very sneaky. I was talking to an associate today and she told me that alot of the toys for BF will be in another color box than those on the shelf right now. If I put these boxes in for layaway they might not come down in price. I'm not sure how they can do that, but this store is.

FYI for those who wanted the Lightsabers at WM's BF sale
BFQueenofNY replied to best4less's topic in 2005
I asked my friend in Walmart which light sabres were going to be $8. Those are the electric ones now selling for $19.96. It comes with a star wars action figure that looks like the ones from the BK kids meals during the summer. The one in Kmart looks like it but it comes with a Mr Potato Head and is 1/2 price which would mean it was only $8 to start with. It says basic so I do not think it is electric HTH (I have been researching this as my 3 year old wants one) -
I just did some after Halloween shopping. I bought my son a firefighter costume that he can play dress up with for $2.00

I usually hit Walmart first so I will get online at about 4am

Go to their site and sign up. Last year I got a coupon for one free item if I bought $15 worth of merchandise that was good on BF
