    Mall Shoppers

I just got an email from Rue 21 (ladies clothes) on BF they will open at 7am with 40% off all fall merchandise with free cameras given out to the first 100 customers. They seem to be a mall staple since they primarily cater to young girls.
  2. I just got an email from Rue 21 (it is a ladies store usually in malls) and they are giving away a free camera to the first 100 people at 7am when they open
  3. Tip #1 - know the coupon policies of the store you use most often. Mine doubles all coupons up to .99 but will only double 4 for the same product. So I know to seperate orders. Tip #2 -Dd you know that the circulars from Sunday's paper are thrown out by the places that sell them? Only the newspaper part gets returned. I started buying my paper in the same place and PURPOSELY became friendly with the manager and Monday morning am workers. Now they give me all the circulars that are left for FREE. Some weeks I get 5 Michael's 40% off coupons and all the rest of the coupons as well.
  4. I suggest you call your local toys r us. Mine is opening at 5 am instead of 6am this year (to compete with KayBee) they might all be doing it
  5. Hi I'm Vicki I live in Farmington, NY (Finger Lakes Region) I cannot vouch for my state of mind though I am married with 2 boys (2 1/2 and 6 months) I like gottadeal.com because just when you think you've looked through everything and found all the deals..poof you find a place you missed. Also there is info on just about everything. I am very excited about BF . I have already used the shopping list section marking down what I truly have to have! I am a big coupon user (saving on average $35-$50 each grocery order). No stores by me allow internet coupons anymore for grocery items but I know how to get paper coupons for just about everything.

    toys r us

Well I poked and prodded the employees while I was there but the only info I could dig up was that some of the stores this year will be opening at 5am instead of 6 so call up your local stores and ask. They did give us a good deal though Sun night. All the green ticket items were 50% off and every 3rd item was 75% off. And I got a cute frankenstein costume for my son for halloween next year for $2.50

    Hot toys

Anyone have any idea what the hot toys are this year? Someone mentioned something about a Video Now Jr. player from playskool. I saw it advertised on Amamzon.com for $70 (mind you this is a toy for toddlers) and on ebay it is going as high as $100+ Anything else??
  13. Walmart, Radio Shack and Sears
  14. I was doing a dvd web search at sears.com and just bought a Disney 5" portable dvd player with case and rechargeable battery. It was $174 on sale for $139 and they took 10% off making it $125. Now shipping was $9.50 which will be refunded through another promotion to me in a rebate check. so with shipping and tax it cost $134 which was less than I wanted to spend. I am pretty pleased with this purchase.
  15. I am looking for a decent portable dvd player for the car that is about $200.
  16. My Targets is hit or miss with seasonal clearance. I bought a small "halloween" fondue pot that was orange for $4.28 but other than that all that was left was really just candy. I really have to scour their clearance shelves and look at the original value closely. I collect clearance items to use them for oops presents alot(you know "oops" I forgot your birthday/anniversary/etc). I am going to check Kmart out tonight and see what they have left.
  17. My Walmart was pretty bare at 50% off. I bought myself a halloween denim shirt for $5

  19. I live near Canandaigua Lake a bit west from you. Hopefully we don't see snow at Thanksgiving this year.
  20. I am hoping that I can get a portable color dvd player for the car for about $100-$150.
  21. go over the battle plan and discuss where the items we are looking for would most likely be placed. So everyone knows which part of the store to go to so we get all the things that will run out quickly. I got burned at Targets one year on those stupid scooter things...never again!
  22. Hi I am Vicki from WNY/CNY area and I am a diehard Black Friday shopper. I wait all year for this. People think I am crazy but you just can't get a better legal adrenaline rush than this! Up here in Western NY it is usually cold and snowing. I wear my Christmas clothes for the first time while shopping. Layering is the key! hee hee
  23. I got my vhs-c camcorder at Sears BF in '01 for less than $250. Problem is there isnt usually alot of them. The thing is with Targets and Walmarts selling them too chances are high you'll find one. how muich is a different story.
  24. I have so much fun Black Friday shopping. I think of it more of a sport actually. I cook Thanksgiving at my house each year so I can adequately prepare. Last year was a trip cause I wanted the dvd player at Walmarts. I got up at 3am and made my coffee. I got my niece, sil and sil's frined who stayed with us up at 3:30am. I set up the cocoa and coffee and we were off. We got there at 4:15am and the line was from the door to about the end of the parking row - we still had 1.5 hours to wait. I figured that since there was 3 doors to get in they had to, for fire regulations, open all 3 doors so I convinced about 7 people standing in the back that we should stand by the side door. Well the walmart people kept telling us the door wasn't opening go back in line - now I kept my sil on line so regardless we wouldnt be last and her friend got 3 shopping lists for Joann's fabric shop and she waited over there. Well the ladies and I got yelled at, cursed at, people threw water bottles telling us they would not let us in before them. We thought a few were going to come punch us actually but we stayed there. Now it was just about opening and as we realized we would have to make a break for the front door, this woman had her boyfriend or husband come and stand in front of us to keep us out (silly silly man) The walmart clerks came to unlock the door, we all yelled and ran as a team around the corner of the store (taking this man with us no less) and entered the store being squished and pushed and the pictures Walmarts took with their cameras must have been hilarious. My niece was still with me and she ran for a cart and I ran around the store getting the dvd player and the leappad. Threw them in the cart and then we went after the smaller items we wanted. Some of you might feel angry saying I didnt wait my turn but I have to tell you I have waited on line and not gotten what I went in for so I doubt I will do that again, but we had an adrenaline rush that no drug could imitate. Funny thing is that on our way home we noticed that Radio Shack had it's lights on and someone was outside so we ran in there and picked up everything we wanted that usually sell fast only to find out that the store wasnt open, the guy had just got there and was having a cigarrette lol thankfully he let us buy the stuff though. Can you tell how much I enjoy this. hee hee it is like my own personal holiday
