I think that can be covered by the other "Hot Deals" forums that exist already. Otherwise, the forums will become too cluttered.

Yea!! I've been dying for a geek forum. As for the TV/movie forum... I only get on television station here, and movies are a bit behind. I don't think I would visit it much... too many spoilers. :)

Has anyone used the $200 internet-programmable remote?
Scott replied to MarkRaby's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I have a similar model, and I must say that I love it. It is the first remote that I've ever had that actually controls everything. I will post more detail tonight about my experience. -
Yeah... I read about this. I already have my GS version and absolutely love it. This router gets the sdible seal of approval. Not that that means anything really. :)

Interesting... I wonder then if the whole $1 then goes to the USO. -

Got them... thanks so much Ross! -
Ok... Sorry to turn this into a "brag" thread, but.... So my friend was picking this router for me up in the states. I told him to go ahead and try to get the GS version. He was getting it in Portland (no sales tax) and decided to go to Office Depot instead since it was closer than Staples. He went there, and they had the GS version. He told them that the routers were on sale and if they would pricematch to Staples. They guy called Staples to confirm, and we ended up getting the GS version of the router for $55 and still have $20 of rebates to send in! I won't be upset if I don't get the rebates... I think that the Office Depot guys must have pricematched the GS router against the G router. I felt almost bad, but it is here now, and working great! In all, $35 AR is a steal for this router!
-
Yeah... that is what I told him. There are rumors that you can find it for that price at Walmart or Sam's Club without a rebate. If that is the case, I would rather go that router (pun intended). :)

That is the one. The 54G is around $50 AR The 54GS is around $70 AR I'm leaning toward the latter right now.
-
Ok... I have a friend who is visiting the states right now. He is going to bring me back a WRT54G or (GS) router. Where is the best deal currently so I can let him know? Edit: He will be buying in the next day or two... Right now, the best we have is Staples for $50 AR

USO Wristband (Help me support our troops)

That is fine, just keep me updated. I wish they had an option to get them here. I wonder if AAFES and 7-eleven would be willing to partner on this some how. -

Yeah... I like the USO, because they really do so much. They also do cheap bus trips for the troops here. And of course, the free coffee, cookies, and cocoa are a nice change from the standard MREs those guys are getting. Robin Williams called them "Meals Ready to Excrete." He cracked me up. -

First of all... All money that goes to the USO is used to support the troops. All workers for the USO are volunteers in some capacity. For instance tonight... all the soldiers and DOD civilians were treated to not only the show, but also free coffee and hot chocolate. (The weather isn't so nice here today) In order to prevent knock-offs, they can "only" be purchased at 7-eleven. $1 goes to the USO for each one purchased. I will still donate to the USO directly, but I thought this would be a nice way for people to show their support. -
Ok RossMan... Hopefully you or someone else can help me out. My wife and I just got back from a wonderful Holiday USO tour here in Germany. It was a wonderful night. They bussed wounded troops over from the hospital base that I work at to be entertained by Robin Williams, Blake Clark, Leeann Sweeden, and John Elway! I have always supported the USO (the last time I went to the USO, I paid $20 for a free cookie and cup of coffee), but I'm looking for this Support The Troops wristband. Leeann Sweeden was wearing one and told everyone about them. They are similar to the "Live Strong" band that has become so popular. The problem... They are only available at 7-eleven stores. I would actually like to purchase several of these (maybe 10) as gifts for people who are stationed here with us. There aren't any 7-eleven's near our home families, so I need to find someone that can help out. I have positive HeatWare under TSDible from AnandTech. I would be willing to paypal someone funds for the cost of the bands, shipping, and a little extra for the trouble if needed. Help me support our troops. Thanks

Took me a while to find that too... I don't think it is in the best place.

Hehe... I was thinking the same thing... Even though I just turned 32 --edit-- Woohoo... I just hit 100 posts poking fun at RossMan.... Just the way I wanted to do it.

They were giving out 10% off coupons for yesterday and for the 24th. Any item up to $500. Not too bad. My wife and I each used one... I bought her a new digicam... shhhhhhh
