  1. I received mine today!* Mwahahahahaa I guess it helps being less than two hours than where Brad is *well at least I *think* I did because nobody was at home today and it's too big for our mailbox so they left it at the apartment office leaving us a note, and that won't open until Monday
  2. Hey there Michelle! I can't believe it either. So yeah, he's now officially 8 years old, in 3rd grade, and he thinks he's the smartest person on earth and his parents are so dumb Oh, and to get back on topic, thanks Brad! I saw the reminder for shirt orders this morning on Facebook, clicked on the link, looked at the design, and immediately thought that I just had to get this one. That's an awesome design. I'll wear it with pride!
  3. I'm sneaking one in right before the deadline. The only GottaDeal shirt I have ever ordered was the very first one. That must be from 2005 because I remember posting a picture of me wearing that shirt with my son at around 1 y/o while he turned 8 just yesterday. I love that shirt, I still wear it at least twice a month, it's one of my favorite weekend shirts!
  4. Confirmed in Madison, WI. It's $2 instead of the regular $0.75 This is the first year they've done that. Last year we bought the paper at regular price ($0.5 then) on turkey day. I'm just hoping they pay the carriers appropriately (as if it's Sunday).
  5. anybody else is trying this and couldn't get the free shipping?
  6. I'm looking to get a hard drive as well and was thinking about the same exact two items (Staples vs. BB). Another factor that will add to the consideration is that traditionally BestBuy will have 10 times the line as Staples. In my area I'm usually standing right there at the front of the line at Staples around 4:30-5am while in BB around that hour I'd be about half a block away from the entrance I most likely will go to Staples just because of this.
  7. ooh sneaky and yeah this is a good price. but BF is a couple of weeks away and who knows what we can find there. thanks Nate! yeah he turned 3 last month (and that was even a picture from ~6 months ago or so, i gotta update it again soon). your son is what, ~2.5 now?
  8. link for this model at its manufacturer's website: http://westinghousedigital.com/details.aspx?itemnum=127 it says the viewing angles are: 160° Horizontal 150° Vertical
  9. This is very tempting if you're looking for a smaller TV for the bedroom or something like that. Pluses: Westinghouse is a great brand, it's <$350 for a 26", free shipping, no rebate hassles, and you can get it right now (no need to wait for BF). Minuses: it's refurbished, it's online and has to be shipped (some people aren't comfortable buying TVs online), BF may have something better and cheaper, who knows. hmmm... and Brad, yes it's me right back here and it's not April 2008 yet . i'm going to be coming around more often now that it's closer to BF. hehe...
  10. Yup Scott this is definitely hot, I saw this yesterday at Buy.com's daily e-mail that I signed-up for. I see a Q6600 system in your future Oh and hi Gottadeal!
  11. hi there fellow grad student! sadinuel, i apologize i just found out about this thread by way of Rossman's pm (sorry guys, i haven't checked in here for a while ). please just disregard my comments below if it's way too late. i think your budget is perfect to get a nice 2 bed/1 bath apartment in Madison. just like it is in most places, the closer you are to downtown, the higher the rent will be. all in all, Madison is a very safe place to live. however, the general rule is that the South side is a no-no. East side is marginally better but more suitable if you're looking for a house (lots of brand new housing complex less than half a mile outside Madison to the East towards Sun Prairie). if you're looking for an apartment, your best bet in my opinion is the West side. you're going to find a lot better places in the West side. you'll find plenty apartments to choose from, all your needs will be covered here, a couple of grocery stores nearby, department stores (Target or Walmart, take your pick), malls, schools, and everything. this actually extends to the city of Middleton (the city next to Madison to the West, which is really just about 3 miles from downtown Madison and about a mile from all your needs as i mentioned above). btw, is anybody curious about the North side? well, this area is only suitable for you if you like swimming a lot. because Madison's North side is Lake Mendota anyway, i hope this information is still useful for you. please contact me via pm or e-mail if you need more information. a couple of good websites to find information about apartment renting in Madison: http://www.startrenting.com/ http://aptshowcase.madison.com/ good luck!
  12. intentionally top posted: this is NOT deepdiscountdvd's fault and it's not just them. Buy.com also had this offer through GREAT FUN a couple of years ago (they might still have it now, i'm not sure). and yes, you would have to authorize it for them to charge. they might have more than one method, but the one that i went through was right after i checked out what i bought (this is at Buy.com), the screen shows 'get $25 back' and by clicking it, it was through registering for a FREE 2 months of GREAT FUN account. according to this promo i will get a check for $25 back (or whatever the promo may be), but after that one month passed i have to remember to cancel my GREAT FUN account or else i'm going to be charged monthly for it. i researched this GREAT FUN thing thoroughly before i clicked on that link, and it seemed that they're legit. so i registered, got my $25 back, and cancelled my account before the FREE 2 months expired. just be cautious and be careful what you clicked on.
