  1. You can still program one of the buttons to select the eraser tool. It just isn't automatic like the higher end models when you uses the back end of the stylus.
  2. I think the big difference is that the "Fun" comes with photo editing and painting programs. Photoshop Elements alone may be worth the extra $30 if you don't already have a photo application.
  3. Looks like most vendors are coming out to around $95-$115 after shipping. http://gottadeal.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=49754681/fd=1
  4. Yes, it would. The Bamboo is the most basic unit that Wacom makes. If it is just a hobby, I would say this would work "ok." If it is something that he really gets in to, and really enjoy, he could always upgrade to an Intuos later... Especially since they start at around $200 for the smallest one. I bought a cheap tablet and it works fine, however, it does not have widescreen support and there aren't many driver updates. Wacom is an excellent company and I'm sure that this unit will receive much better support.
  5. From the Wacom site: I think that they are just listing the Vista compatability because so many things are NOT Vista compatible. In general, Wacom tablets have excellent photoshop support. What does DH do with photoshop? If he is serious about it, you may want to consider something in the Intuos line instead. Here is a comparison chart: http://www.wacom.com/bambootablet/index.cfm
  6. Yes, I believe that it should be. Excellent question though. I think that particular unit uses 533 MHz memory, so the faster 667MHz should be backwards compatible.
  7. My initial guess is that unit uses DDR memory and not DDR2. Do you have the model number handy?
  8. This is an unbelievable price on a great laptop upgrade! Buy.com has Kingston 2GB ( 2 x 1GB ) PC2 5300 667MHz 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 Laptop Memory for only $44.95 with free shipping! I'm pretty sure that I will have to grab a set of these for my wifes laptop. http://ak.buy.com/db_assets/prod_lrg_images/017/204884017.jpg http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=204884017
  9. Buy.com has the Wacom Bamboo tablet for only $69 including free shipping. I might have to grab one of these since my current unit does not support wide displays, and this one does! http://ak.buy.com/db_assets/prod_lrg_images/267/205705267.jpg http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=205705267
  10. Do you know which units offer user input POIs? I thought that garmin had an application where you can do this through a CSV file. There are actually sites out there that upload things like speedtraps, construction, etc. That is a feature I would be highly interested in. Right now, the Tom Tom XL S is looking pretty good to me.
  11. I'm sure that they probably just won't be available.
  12. This is going to vary widely based on your specific area...
  13. It was a limited time offer to get new signups and I'm sure it worked quite well. Please do not discuss ways around the Google Checkout TOS.
  14. Probably not because it is a limited time special offer. Most stores don't have to pricematch that, but YMMV.
  15. It seems that BestBuy has dropped their price on the Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD player to only $99.99. I suspect that it is in response to Wal-Mart's big sale tomorrow. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8021767&productCategoryId=abcat0102004&type=product&cmp=++&lid=abn_sku_4_DVD+Players+%26+Recorders_SKU_8021767_TXT&id=1158323325814 They are sold out online, but maybe you will be lucky and get one in stock near you.
  16. The best route is going to be to get yourself in line tonight for one at Wal-Mart tomorrow for only $98. http://holiday.ri-walmart.com/?section=secret&utm_source=Walmartcom&utm_medium=POV1&utm_content=secret1&utm_campaign=holiday&povid=cat14503-env15844-module117144-lLink1 They have a secret in-store special tomorrow only (2-Nov-07). http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=86138 That being said... there will probably be some decent deals online on or before BF. I'm guessing around $160-$180.
  17. Hey Ryan.... If you are still listening... Has there been any progress made on the Linux front? Has anyone managed to get the OnAir GT working in a Linux environment? I'm attempting to switch to linux completely, and the OnAir is one piece of hardware that is holding me back.
  18. I would definately say there will be some good GPS deals this BF. I would suggest staying with one of the name brands Magellan, TomTom, Garmin. I see already that the leaked Sears ad has the Magellan 4000 and 3100 for $100 off what Sears is selling them for right now. http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/BlackFridaySales/Store/Sears/Category/All/Rebates/no/EarlyBirds/yes/Page/3 $149 for the 3100 $249 for the 4000 With that kind of deal, I would definately hold off until BF if you can.
  19. There are drawings going on, and they may be located in several places. Right now, there are a couple of contests going on: Weekly Giveaways of Dale & Thomas Popcorn GC http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=85310 Geeks.com Giveaway: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=85287
  20. Yup.... And for a limited time, you only have to pay for the first 10 steps! The last two steps are FAR!
