I got in line at Circuit City at around 9pm Thursday night. I was probably about 25-30th in line but it was hard to tell as people left their chairs there and kept going to their cars bc it was so cold. I was alone though so I stayed right where I was. It was FREEZING and the guy in line behind me kept complaining the whole time about how his group wasn't going to get the 3 laptops they came for and how many did CC have. I told him several times that my friends BF works there and said they would have about 13 of the Compaq and IDK about the others. At about 11:30 I had had it with the cold and was about to pick up my things and go (even though most of the people in line were just awesome to hang with) when the guy behind me suddenly had a little tantrum (bc he was convinced every person in front of us was after the same laptop he was) and went down the line asking everyone what they were there after. When he came back from what he said I realized that I was about the 10th person there for the Compaq so I had a chance at one and could not leave now. I waited the night out, went to my car twice to warm up while the people in line with me saved my spot(they were there for TVs so I could trust them). There really was a comraderie out there. Around 3:30 everyone stood up and started to stir as employees were starting to come in. We all started to move toward the door but it wasn't until 4 that they came out with the vouchers. This is when all chaos ensued. The CC guy just hollered out "ok who wants the HP laptop" and everyone started clammering for the vouchers. By the time he got to the Compaq I was pretty much surrounded by people who were far behind me and was not getting a voucher. Eventually the guy said "ok last one on the compaq who wants it?" we all yelled me me me and he "said who was here first". At this point I had no idea but the guy who had waited in line in front of me all night yelled "give it to this lady she has been here all night she deserves it". So I got it!!!! I owe him such a debt of gratitude. Anyway, by the time the doors had opened we had some line jumpers lurking. As the doors opened this one kid climbed under the barricade. I thought the crowd was going to kill him!! It was so bad they closed the doors on us again and we were all squished in like sardines watching this one guy go after the line jumper. Eventually we all were let in and it was omg, just like you see on TV. I really wasn't sure we would make it!! Later on when I was in the laptop line I heard a ruckus over by the TV's (no voucher for those) and I see the line jumper fighting with the same guy from outside all over again!!! I left soon after. CC does not know how to take care of these crowds. From what I understand BB is much better.

Did you go to Oswego or Watertown? I was thinking of going to Watertown but didn't want to take any chances. Maybe I should have...

Oh boy I hope I can get a voucher for one of those babies!!! Anyone willing to sell one for $50?

Yeah Indy here is what I don't get...I am in Upstate NY and Rome and New Hartford stores have the GPS but Watertown has the laptop. I don't get it.

I think we should all write letters of complaint to Staples. I also would have picked up lots of other stuff along w/ my laptop such as a cordless mouse, blank DVDs, and probably a laptop bag. They need to realize how much they are losing. FYI, I called my local Staples and complained as well. Not that they are part of the process but hopefully it will be relayed above.

OMG I am so depressed. This has ruined my BF!!! I did find out that these will be available about an hour and a half from me but since I am unfamiliar with that city it will put a damper on the rest of my holiday shopping for sure. What to do what to do...

Oh nooooo...... I was so wanting this for my D17. What do you think the odds are of online availability or in store special?

My local hometown grocery store would not take this. The poor cashier felt terrible and apologized up and down and said they have had trouble with fraudulent internet coupons. I told her don't be sorry honey, I am only donating them to Toys For Tots anyway and you are doing your job. Target was great for me, I actually got money back on the toys as they gave me the full $5 off!!

IDK what anyone else's experiences w/ the Shake N Go cars has been but last year I bought the Shake N Go regular speedway for my son and it was disappointing to say the least. The cars won't even go around the track 3 times before completely losing power.

Do you know which bras will be 40%? Last year I went and got some Pink panties (oh how I wish for a deal on the sweats) and a bra, enough to get the free bag. This year I am not really caring about the bag though but D would like some bras.

How do you make deals w/ them? I really just want a dual core, w 1gb RAM, and a DVD Burner as well as Vista for DD. I like the one at Staples on BF but for an extra $50 or so would be happy not to stand in line on BF morning for several hours. Do you think closer to BF Dell will make deals over the phone?

About 3 weeks ago!!!! My MP3 player is loaded this year with all my faves! I have quite a collection of Christmas CD's and movies. It is great. One of our local radio stations starts doing 24/7 Christmas music today 11/1!! IDK...for me the holiday season is too full of good things and too short so I like to make the most of it!!
