  1. MMMM....cinnamon rolls from a tube are awesome!! I actually do love them. When I was a kid they were a super duper treat!! Want some now!
  2. ***Just a note: I find that this needs to bake a little longer than suggested, about an hour seems to work best for my tastes. Baked French Toast Casserole Serves/Makes: 8 Ingredients: 1 loaf French bread (13 to 16 ounce size) 8 large eggs 2 cups half-and-half 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 dash salt Maple syrup ***Praline Topping* 1 cup butter 1 cup packed light brown sugar 1 cup chopped pecans 2 tablespoons light corn syrup 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg Directions: Slice French bread into 1-inch slices. Arrange slices in a generously buttered 9 by 13-inch flat baking dish in 2 rows, overlapping the slices. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and beat with a rotary beater or whisk until blended but not too bubbly. Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture. Spoon some of the mixture in between the slices. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spread Praline Topping evenly over the bread and bake for 40 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. Serve with maple syrup. Praline Topping: Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well.
  3. Always a french toast casserole. It has to be prepared the night before and then just pop into the oven first thing in the morning to bake during presents. Also, I pre-cook sausage and bacon the night before as well and just reheat when the casserole is ready.
  4. THANKS!!!! I just got 8 items for $71 shipped!!! The OOPS1015 code worked for the free shipping even though my order was not over $100 (must work on orders worth $100). AND you can get free sweatpants that are priced higher than the hoodies!! All of the hoodies I got were $16.99 but I also got sweatpants that were $34.99 still for free!!!
  5. I usually do some homemade candy for our bus driver. The kids say the drivers seem to really look forward to it. Maybe they are just being nice IDK.

    The teens

I have no clue!! My picky teens are seriously driving me to loathe holiday shopping. I used to live for it. So far DD14 will get cash probably and maybe some Hollister perfume (but I doubt I can even get THAT right). Oldest D has said she just wants a fat Barnes and Noble card. IMO things like cash and GC's have no thought into them and if you are just getting people exactly what they want or face some sort of disapproval then it just takes the joy out of giving. That is why we stopped exchanging gifts w/ DH's family.
  7. This code has been valid since Springtime. It can only be used once w/ each account so you need to make a new account w/ a different email address.
  8. Thanks!!! I have been waiting not so patiently for this sale!!
  9. My Dh and I do this too. It is our time, usually the second weekend of December. Now that our girls are older (14 and 18) I do most of the stuff for them before this (he enjoys shopping for the "fun" stuff) but try to save most of the shopping for our son (3) until that day so that Daddy can have fun picking out toys. This little outing always includes dinner, we usually end up shopping for my FIL a little bit as well, and sometimes a movie (although if there is a good Christmas movie out we take a day as a whole family to see that). Then DH always has to take a day or 2 to shop on his own (DD13 gets very miffed if he does not take her along at least once) and he ALWAYS picks up something totally inappropriate for the kids (last year it was a GIANT stuffed horse for DS). It is nice to have that time together and makes him feel included in the gift buying. Ofc, Black Friday is just for me!!!
  10. I agree Christmas is about the kids and it really sickens me that people that work with children can have such a pessimistic attitude. I, however, have pretty much given up on the holidays at my office. Last year I really wanted to make Christmas special for my co-workers. I organized office parties 3 weeks in a row (breakfast one week, lunch the next, desserts only on Christmas Eve for those that had to be there). I also did a "6 Days of Christmas" w/ games every day (that did not disrupt work ofc) and gave a prize every day, for 2 days. My boss, who had moaned and complained about the parties (although he approved them) put the kibosh on the games after 2 days, took us all in the conference room and screamed at us to quit the Christmas crap bc we were too busy (oh I get warm and fuzzy just thinking about it). Other people complained every step of the way about the parties too, even though I had it set up so each employee only had to commit to bringing something to one of the parties instead of something to each. No one would do the Secret Santa. It is really hard to have Christmas spirit when people act like this. Anyway, I have already told people at work that I will not be participating in any holiday festivities at work this year. It is too much of a letdown when I have tried so hard in the past to make people happy. Every year I try to think up a small holiday "project" that I can do in the spirit of Christmas. Last year my goal was to make the office a happy relaxed place for the Holidays, the year before my goal was to be nice to my Scroogey boss no matter how miserable he was to me. I failed miserably at both apparently. I think I need to go back to the closer to home projects, like the year I quit smoking or the year I started to wear my seat belt regularly as gifts to my kids.
  11. Thanks!! The guy that sits next to me in my cubicle at work is always looking for something nice to give the female co-workers at Christmas time. He was really excited!! (JK, JK)
  12. I am seriously in a funk as to what to buy. This morning I went to TJ Maxx's skiing and snowboarding event and put a North Face jacket, Columbia snow pants, and a North Face Fleece hoodie on layaway for my 2 d's. Other than that I am clueless. Maybe a GPS for oldest D. Youngest D is so picky about everything I hate to shop for her anymore. And forget about DH!!
  13. I called earlier and they said they shipped on 10/3. Checking the order number they gave me it says order shipped but also says "Order Sold Out" and the USPS tracking number they provided comes up invalid. Guess I will see in the next few days.
  14. I never even got an order confirmation or shipment confirmation for my Cd's. Anyone else?
  15. I second NoeHlp's recommendation of Aldi's for the Butterball turkey. I get one every year there for Christmas dinner, costs about $10 for a small one. For some reason, my youngest D insists on only Butterball at Christmas (since it is the holidays I indulge her whim this once). I always use the brown n serve rolls, packaged brown gravy mix is very tasty (Pillsbury is the best but McCormick is good too) I make ahead and put in a small crockpot to keep warm. Mashed potatoes can be made early and kept warm in a crockpot too. Any casseroles can be put together the day before and popped in the oven that day. I make Christmas dinner for DH's family every year and these tricks have really helped me out.
  16. The reason I was confused is bc it is listed under Binder Cookbooks and ofc is pictured w/ the cookbook but it does say CD so probably is just the CD. Thought I was getting a HUGE deal!!
  17. Thanks!!!! I ordered 10 but now I am wondering is this the cookbook and CD or just the CD?
  18. Haha, I actually convinced myself that I was swearing off BF this year!! Seeing this ad has knocked me so far off the wagon I will never get back on now. I am jonesing for the next fix now!!
  19. Some of the ones I would want are out of stock. Does anyone know if they ever come back in stock and does it usually happen quickly? I am dying to buy some for The Melting Pot and for my daughter for when she goes to college.
  20. I actually found another model that takes 2 cartridges (one black, one color) for $29.99 w/ 97 cent shipping so I am good. I needed a Lexmark bc mine died and I had extra black cartridges so I wanted to be able to use them.
  21. I have been trying to figure out which ink cartridges go to this printer? It looks like it only takes a color cartridge which means it uses all three colors to make black. Anyone know?
  22. Try DannysWarehouse.com (you won't believe the prices on leos and tights) and dancefactoryoutlet.com (this is capezio's outlet site). Good Luck!!
