We have the same (though, I don't think they are FEIT). I plan to add wreaths to it this year. I actually never took them out from last year (they are not made to change bulbs very often, and I just lose all motivation), so we're already in the holiday spirit!

Well, I can't blame you. It was just funny that you're like the kid in the candy store with aisles and aisles of candy, you have $5 to spend, and you get to the first shelf and see "Chocolate Bar!!!!" and grab it and run to the register just because you've been waiting 11.5 months for this day to come and it's finally almost reality. I wouldn't be all too surprised if you don't find anything better (or at least as convenient) in the ads to come, but time will tell!

Official Black Friday VIDEO GAMES Discussion Thread
bribri25 replied to mommy2twingles's topic in 2016
So, I'm open to all kinds of opinions from others... I have had a Gamecube for 15 years (hardly gets played any more). We have a Wii (the original, not Wii U) for about 10 years; it's slowly dieing and video output cuts out after 30 minutes of consecutive playing and needs replugged in (annoying). The kids are 5 & 6 and have gotten into the Wii a little bit with the sensor bar functionality. And I think they are at an age where they can start playing some video games (and I can have an excuse to play again, too). My dilemma is that I've been so far disconnected from consoles for 10 years and really don't know what I want to get. - We have cut the cord and use OTA antenna & Sling TV & Netflix - I think the Wii sensor bar & Kinect is fun for the kids (does the PS have something like this?) - No one in the family is a hardcore gamer (I like the sports games) Until last year when cutting the cord, I'd been 95% XBox One. Now there's the XBox One S... is the One still even worth getting and able to find new games for? I've heard that the PS can do much more besides just games; Blu-Ray player, Playstation Vue (I have minimal knowledge of this and obviously has a subscription fee, but would it fit in with what we already have or replace Sling/Netflix?). Is PS3 still sold anywhere? Just get PS4? And now the new Nintendo console... If you have any input, articles, or personal experience with any of the consoles what would help me figure out which one would best fit for us, I'd appreciate that. Thanks!! -
LOL. This is the first ad (second, if you count Dell) with a TV in it. Pace yourself.... there are plenty of TVs to be had.
-
LOL. Yeah, not that the sale has started NOW, but just some of the items just happen to be on sale for the same price they will be for this BF sale. I wouldn't be too outrageously surprised to see some of these items be on sale online for that price; though, maybe selling out quickly and not sure what you'd pay for shipping.
-
While typing up the ad listing, I noticed a few of the items were already on their sale prices. Then, checked a few more...and they weren't. So, maybe a VERY FEW limited number of items are already at the ad price. The candy cane extension cord, however, is not.

Yes, they are pretty difficult to come by. You'll likely have to continually stalk your stores to find them. We've heard that TRU has them at customer service desk, WalMart has them in and out of stock quickly, and one person found one at a grocery store. See this discussion in another forum topic

Potentially. Things have been in flux and contain varying amounts of detail/organization over the past few years.

Sounds like a fun app... upload pictures of the items you find on the list; point values for an item go down as more and more people accomplish that particular task

When I was first connected, the chat feed would freeze, even though the audio and video continued. After about 5 refreshes, things seemed to be working consistently. Then, it seemed that my video feed was lagging about 5-10 seconds behind the chat feed. All in all, it was decent. But I feel like going through the big ads with 50 people live and chatting, it'll get trouble if everyone (or even half of people) are lagging that much. Thanks for the test, Jay!

Mine is just a 5-Star Portfolio Pocket folder. Since most of it is online these days, it's not as crucial, but it used to contain my list store-by-store with the coupons paper clipped and my driving route from store to store. Maybe not as nerdy but certainly qualifies for nerdy.

I'll be available. Please post the link when you're live.

Getting handed a candy cane from WalMart while waiting in line Campers at a store on Monday A response of "I don't know" by any employee Actually getting a price match for an item on BF
-
Yeah, the DVD calendar used to be where it was at. The past year or two has been a struggle to track down the good deals on Amazon.
-
Okay, I agree 1080p isn't doing anywhere. But I'm thinking of 2-3 ish years ago (before we really got to reasonably-priced 4K) when there were 720p deals were few and far between and 90% of the TVs on BF were 1080p. This year (yes, I know we only have Dell Home ad to go by so far, but if that's any indication...) 60% (based on a sample size of 5 TVs in the ad ;-) ) of the TVs are 4K; 40% HD. The past few years you've been able to say... "I want a 60" Samsung 1080p TV" and it'd be on a BF sale somewhere; or "I want a 55" LG 1080p TV" and it'd be on a BF sale somewhere. Every brand, every size; there was a plethora of deals for your preference of brand and size. Now, 4K is taking over and I don't want to lose the chance of having the flexibility in picking the deal I want for a 1080p TV when most of the deals are on 4K. That being said, Kanyon makes a good point that the price point gap is closing and while there may not be as many sales on 1080p next year, you're not going to pay that much more for 4K so why not. Sure, it won't gain you much quality in 75% of viewing cases (not a large enough screen or sitting close enough, and the content likely isn't even 4K), but if you're only paying 15-20% more (and potentially even less difference by next year) then why not?
-
Yes, online. I haven't any experience with the small business site. I am curious, as well. I usually just stay on the Dell Home ad, but would be nice to know if there aren't specific requirements for SB.
-
When will realistically be the last year we see an abundance of 1080p TVs on sale for BF? I feel like this may be the last year as I see more and more deals for 4K TVs than 1080p (even if the media and content hasn't yet caught up). And I'm thinking more of the big name brands (Samsung, LG, Sony, etc.). I'm semi in the market for a new TV soon, but could wait til next year if those TVs will still be around and have even lower prices as 4K becomes even more popular.

The hardest part is scrolling through the HUGE list of items....
-
Maybe a couple things. A laptop option for my sister to get her son. Nothing else really stands out to me.
-
No, it's still a bit of the waiting game. And I feel it'll be much of that case until after the election. Might get a few outliers this week, but I don't expect much.
-
LOL!!! "All the stores around us were opening their doors for some reason. I figured maybe I forgot about daylight savings time, so we opened up too."
-
Wow! That's really awesome. Glad to hear you got one. Sadly, it was giving WM business; but if you didn't buy that one, someone else surely would have later that day.
-
"...quiet down some" meaning you'll only wait 90 minutes in line instead of 3 hours? or, really 30 minutes or less? "...later on" meaning 10am? Noon? 4pm?

Joann Notably has 60%-75% off pretty much all their fabrics (by the yard) on BF (50% off licensed ones). I've gone in Joann once on BF (maybe 8am ish; a few hours after opening) and the fabrics section was ridiculous (not to mention checkout lines). Has anyone ever weathered the storm and have tips on when to get there and how to shop Joann? Get there right at 6am and get out (like Kohls), and can you get out quick enough if you get a few fabrics cut? Go at noon after the initial rush? Is there still anything decent left at that point? Just stay home and think about how much less stress I'm having not being at Joann...? I don't need anything particularly specific, or the best ones ever; but I would like to pick up a few and make some PJ pants for the kids, etc.
