I always take off BF. It used to be to shop in the morning and to nap in the afternoon. Now it's to hang out all day and play with the toys I got from everything opening 12 hours earlier.

Same here. It's inevitable that I'll get a few things here; likely don't need them, but new gadgets are fun. Still have to see what I can get online as doorbusting might not be an option this year.

You're getting all the right input here. Pick the one that feels the best. in your (her) hand. This will hopefully be THE camera for the next 5-10 years. You can't go wrong with Nikon or Canon in DSLRs. Ever. (well, except a few major defects in some models when they first got released) You'll choose one and get used to each of the little quirks they each have, and fall in love with that one. You're going to get awesome pictures with both those cameras (compared to what she's used to) Bluetooth vs. Wi-FI....not going to be a deal breaker there; both will allow you to access the pictures via app on your phone and you'll post them with your phone's data connection Specifically between those 2 camera's I'd pick the Nikon starting out. I have had my Nikon D5000 for 7 years and have taken over 60,000 pictures (deleted many of those because I usually take 2-3 of everything, but still taken so many pictures). About 6 months ago, one of the lenses is starting to give me trouble, but DW knocked it off the counter and it dropped on the floor...so you can't blame the camera too much. I'm looking to step up to the D750 in the near future.Go with what she likes!! She will love it.

You could tell Alexa..... "Okay. I will have Scooba wash your floors now." (I kid; but i bet we're not that far off)

How can you do that?? I can barely keep track of what I'm typing. Though, you've easily typed more than double the pages I have, and I'll admit I make note of things while I'm typing; just don't get to see them all at once and really concentrate.

Pretty much!

Serious question regarding service dog on Black Friday (UPDATE)
bribri25 replied to Illinoismom's topic in 2016
Going a little later and avoiding the mass crowds might help things. I definitely see service dogs in the retailers (maybe not so much on BF), so it's just a matter of being in a safe environment for everyone. Good luck!! -
They came out pretty much exactly when I expected them to; after the election coverage had dissipated for the most part. This should be enough for a bit to start going through and make some lists.
-
Certainly a few things in there, but really just a bunch of regular sales.
-
It's definitely still fun! Just has a few quirks. Now the best way to view them is in the app/site, rather then download from here because the names often get cut off from screenshots, etc. It's still all good, though.
-
Excited for both!! I can actual be on tonight
-
There's definitely a few good sales in here, but there's also a good deal of items that make you say "That's a BF sale?? That's only 10% off retail. I can get that sale in every 3rd weekly ad." Don't bother putting it in your ad if it's not a BF sale. Save it for the week after.

This thread discusses quite a bit. Ultimately, it's going to depend on what store and what manager. Most items are special items numbers and won't be eligible for PM; but that's not to say you can't try for the other items. I just wouldn't count on it.
-
Thanks, Jay. I won't be able to tonight. I'm interested to hear how things go and look forward to the next one (likely post-election when the big dogs leak).
-
Probably could have leaked that one months ago.

They didn't have one last year, did they? I think last year they announced it was over with. ...Though, some of us can still continue to hope that was a lie ;-)
-
I thought they had a decent Cyber Monday, too. 25% or more sitewide and Free Shipping, I think.

Look at you all up to date with the kids' lingo these days!

There are a majority of the generic items online. And if their sale goes online slightly before midnight like it did last year, I was able to take advantage of a leftover coupon that was supposed to end when the sale started.

Is that even proper context? I'm not sure what that would actually mean in this instance. LOL I would say to ask her if that's correct, but it's very likely she'll juts roll roll her eyes at you and walk away...
-
LOL. okay, but that's not a reasonable option for your common laptop consumer, so let's call it stuck at 4GB...

It all depends on the situation you have with family. Some people don't really have much of a family and don't really do a dinner. Some people celebrate Thanksgiving on Saturday Some people have had traditions going for 10+ years and spending time in line at retailers is their time with their family. Some people just go out at 7pm and see what they can still get Some people just go Friday morning to the stores that open Friday morning Some people do most of their BF shopping online and don't need to go to the stores. There's all kinds of situations, so this is going to be a completely varying answer from anyone. It has to be completely up to you and your family and how you want to spend your Thursday afternoon/evening.
