  1. Yep, hitting up the clearance at the end of the month would be a great plan! Get yourself $63 or $125 or clearance items to really help get the most of your money.
  2. I'm sure this is the expectation now with VS, but thought I'd share. DW has birthday in November. On the back of her mailer mentions the Free Tote Bag. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161021/313f844b1c48a917701040ef86e149ca.jpg
  3. The are essentially equal. The 20% is pretty standard with what you'll get on BF. The triple Yes2You gets you $15 per $100; KC gets you another $20 --> $35 back per $100 spent; BF will get you $5 in Yes2You and $30 in KC = $35. Now, the difference comes in prices/sales. Kohls has some great discounts on top of this rewards during BF, so it's likely you'll get it cheaper that week. However, if you see something on a really good sale during this 10/27-10/30 time period, then it may be advantageous to get it then and avoid the rush; as it may not get much cheaper during BF. Getting the Yes2You in October means you'll have it to spend in Nov., but the KC will need spent in the next week after it's earned (way before BF).
  4. Maybe not ON Black Friday, but certainly among their deals leading up to it. I think it was the week of last year that varying kindle devices were on sale. Usually they make advertisement of it in advance so you'll know slightly ahead of time. Usually when they see how much BB & Staples, etc. are selling them for on BF from the leaked ads, they will match that price pre-BF so you buy it from them instead of in store at the other retailers.
  5. Thank you, Brad!!!! I know we've all been waiting for this one... this one, and maybe BestBuy & Target & Kohl's, too...
  6. I don't get big ticket items, but often things like the towels of certain colors and fleece blankets of certain designs and pillows and such can go out of stock fairly quickly. They aren't big ticket items, but very popular.
  7. How could anyone object to that??
  8. And he then in turn went to the freezer, scraped off some of the ice and threw it on the front porch to justify to mom that it was close enough to wear the snow boots...
  9. I don't think BF habits should have even swayed your decision. You should get back there and get that rug, regardless! It is Paw Patrol, after all...
  10. I used to work in an old storefront that my company was renting until new office space was available. They converted the store into cubicles and when I'd get there at 7am some mornings in the winter (when it seems like the sun doesn't come up until after noon) it was definitely very dark and creepy. Of course the mall wasn't even open yet, so I get that!
  11. I've had a few items get canceled on me, but it was usually ordering the popular items that sell out quickly and waiting until Monday night or Tuesday to order. If you order Sunday night, most things will have at least shipped by BF and then if anything got canceled on you, you can always go in-store to buy it if you still wanted it that bad (and use your $10 off $10 purchase card ). I also remember that some people were able to do in-store pickup for the BF prices. I'm not sure if they've since caught on to that, or if it was intentionally allowed.
  12. Oh, I can imagine the steam boiling up when they told you they didn't have the TVs.....and then flurry of mixed emotions when they told you you'd get a rain check to get it: "I waited this whole time and don't get it today""At least I get one""Hmmmm, will it actually come in?""How was it not here in time; it's not like Black Friday just snuck up on you?""Well, at least now I get to go to other stores"
  13. 4 minutes to get everyone connected, check the audio, open up the chat....and then 1 minute to talk about the ad. Yeah, that's about right.
  14. You could still be going to TRU for Cabbage Patch, or Furbie... Or to Joann for fabrics. It's not always the electronics; though, often times yes.
  15. It's still pretty early to be talking webcasts; even talking about updates on webcasts
  16. Were you ever the first one in line? How long were you standing there? How was the weather? Was it worth it? About 5 or 6 years ago, I was first in line for Michaels on Saturday morning (additional sales/coupons). There were a dozen or so cars already in the parking lot and all just staying warm in their cars (certainly Michael's isn't known for hard code BF shoppers - now, Joann has the fabric sale so you need to be on your toes there...). It was about 30 minutes before opening and I've stood outside in much colder for much longer, so what's 30 minutes to me. I went to the door and about 10 minutes late a few others started to join me. I sort of felt a little bad that I "jumped" them, but there was no discernible method to know who got there before/after who when it actually came time to get out of the cars. Now, I know many of you have more interesting stories than that, so let's hear!
  17. If you post it, they will count. Don't sell, Ray. Don't sell.
  18. I agree on the beanie!! Us Wisconsin folk need all the winter headgear we can get.
  19. We really really really want to get that set; I'm not sure we are ready to spend that much money. DD6 & DD5 still love "playing with the legos" and pieces get lost way too easily. Plus, it's pretty much sold out everywhere. Is it as awesome as you thought it'd be? We went to LEGO kids fest in Milwaukee last weekend and they had a blast and still working on their ~400-piece sets right now.
  20. But probably either the 6th or 9th-11th around election day; I'm guessing more after the election.
  21. Yup, that's exactly where I went. Got the 75G at 50% 2 years ago. Usually you can find someone with a vehicle when you're not in a time crunch and can pick it up the next day, or even over the weekend. We'll see (probably still 3 weeks away) when the PetSmart ad comes out.
  22. Chapsticks, lottery tickets, candy, socks.
  23. Not sure the details on this "giant aquarium", but I ordered mine from Petsmart online 2 years ago and picked it up in store the next day. I think you even get an extra % off for ordering online and picking up in store, too.
  24. I'm sure the Thursday openings hurt that; it does for many people. However, it's also a factor of the technology world we're living in. Everything is about electronics. Even when it is about kids toys, those are also electronics. Also, so many things are online and make it not even worth going out on Thursday or Friday. Traditions are certainly disrupted and it's a matter of what you need/want and where it will be in store/online.
  25. I am in search of a lower end laptop for my nephew. No touch screen, no gaming, and still with a DVD drive. I'll have to see what comes out in the ads and go from there; as well as keep an eye out for sales through BF.
