  1. That's how I am too..lol. That's why I need to just chill this year. The boys are 14 and don't ask for much. They said they want a phone and a basketball goal. I asked them if they might want a tablet. But I am just going to check into getting them a smart phone through straightalk (if it even compares to a tablet..not sure). Then, we will probably get the boys some fishing stuff (that is something that they do every weekend and I know that they would love us to restock their tackle box!) My daughter has been begging for a tablet also. She is 6, but I am going to get her the Nabi 2. Then I will get her a game or two for her DS (that are on sale during the Christmas season) and a few more things.
  2. I absolutely love Christmas! Our kids are Homeschooling this year, so I am planning on doing lots of baking, decorating, and arts/crafts for Christmas this year. I want to really enjoy the Christmas season this year without worrying about if the kids will have everything I want to get them for Christmas...
  3. I really doubt they will be on sale. They just came out, I believe in June or July. I noticed that a few of our Walmart stores that carry them are already on limited stock or sold out. so, I am afraid that they will be gone within a month or two. We are going to put one on layaway. If they do happen to go on sale BF, then I will just buy one BF, finish out the layaway, and either return it or just sell it...
  4. I usually really stress over Christmas. The only times our kids get things is for Birthday/Christmas so I always tend to go overboard. We probably won't do 4 gifts only, but each of them will have one big gift and then several smaller gifts. I am going to put their big gifts on layaway and then we will get them several smaller things to go with it. The smaller gifts will probably be from BF sales.
  5. The link didn't work..I did look it up using search engine though, but so far I've not really found much informartion on it. Is Capac the name brand?
  6. I figured they might. I need to see if they have anything that I need.
  7. I hope they get the accessories in the store before Christmas
  8. Thank you. I am still leaning toward the Nabi. After tons of research and reading all the reviews, I believe that this will be the best choice for my daughter. They actually have some in stock in several Walmarts near us. So, I am planning on putting one on layaway next Friday (I have early access ticket for layaway). I believe that she will absolutely love it. I also noticed that they have added several bumper colors that you can buy separately on the nabi website. I agree with you that I think they are going to go very fast.
  9. I believe that Target will end up competing. They won't be able to afford not to compete..
  10. Thank you for your ideas. It seems like the Kindle is very popular!
  11. She loves Disney Jr. I believe this is why she wants an app. I think they advertise the Disney Jr. app on their channel..lol.
  12. Thanks everyone. I am going to check into the Kindle. I didn't realize that the Kindles were tablets. I thought they were just e-readers..lol. I told you that am completely naive when it comes to tablets. Would you be able to download the same type apps for a kindle as you would for another tablet?
  13. I didn't know they were coming out with an iPad mini. The only reason I don't want to get her an iPad is because I don't want to give 400.00 for a tablet..lol. I can't really afford thatmuch since I have 3 kids to buy for and we live on one income. I do love the Ipads though and I know that they use them in our local school for K-3.
  14. Thanks everyone. I will check into the Kindle Fire.
  15. My daughter (age 6) is really wanting a tablet. I had said that I wouldn't buy anything like that for her this young, but now I am reconsidering. We homeschool so it could be used as an educational tool also. I don't really want to buy an iPad because of the price. I have been looking at the Nabi 2. It is made for kids. It has bumpers around the edge. It also has some very cool apps, alot of educational stuff. Every time they do an educational game, they earn coins. They have an app where they can use these coins to buy other apps. I can also put her chore list on the tablet and 'buy' coins that she can earn to use in the store. One of the apps is a music/TV app. All for kids. It also has a mommy/daddy mode. I can control things that she is able to watch/do. It uses the ice cream sandwhich OS. Has anyone had any experience with this tablet. It sells for 200.00. Do you think it is worth it, or should I just get a cheaper tablet. I definitely want one that will last but doesn't cost over 200.00. I am thinking about going ahead and putting it on layaway as soon as Walmart opens their layaway or do you think I would be best to wait until BF. I know the tablets don't really ever go on sale, but do you think that they would offer any gift cards with purchases for BF? Thanks. I really appreciate your input. I do not own a tablet or anything, so I am completely lost when it comes to knowing what to look for.
  16. I just saw on my FB page that they lowered their fee to $5.00. This makes it even better (if I still get it back after payoff).
  17. Thanks....I wish we had one closer. The closest one to us is 1 1/2 hours away..
  18. I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to go. She is only 5 so it will be at least another 3-5 years, depending on her maturity. We live in a small town and so far they've only had one fight and it was over towels (where I never go, even though I need some new ones). My boys are 14 and have no desire to go at all. I told them, depending on what everyone wants this year, that they may have to help.. Last year was my husband's first year and he says it was his last, but I know that if the kids want something that we can save lots of money on, he will go again to help out. My daughter would stay with my parents since my mom is not able to go out anymore. If there is something my mom wants, then I try to pick it up for her if possible. I am going to try to talk my sister into going this year, but I doubt she will since she hates crowds.
  19. My husband..lol... He is not against me going BF shopping though. He went last year and said it was his first and last year and then he added "there are some crazy people shopping today"...lol.
  20. I just went on Facebook a few minutes ago. I get updates from Walmart. They had an update on their early layaway for those who like their local Walmart on Facebook. It now sends you to another page and you click on your local walmart and then you can print an early access ticket. It says it is sent to your email also, but I've not gotten it yet on either of my email addresses. I had already liked my local walmart and couldn't click on it again so I chose another nearby. It doesn't matter though, because the ticket that you print does not have a specific store...
  21. I don't think you actually have to sign up anywhere...I just think it is a way that Walmart can get you to like your local Walmart page. I bet they don't check. I am going to take a print out of the actual corporate press release.
  22. All I did is just "like" my local Walmart. I am not sure if there is an actual sign up or not.
  23. My hubby went with me last year. He said it was his first BF and his last...lol. He said we were all crazy and why we wanted to put ourselves through that he'll never know...LOL. I just laughed and said I love the rush of it all but most of all I love the great deals...
  24. Thanks. I wonder how they are going to tell if someone has liked them on Facebook...lol.
  25. I will start out in randolph county. I always do my Walmart shopping there first since it is a smaller walmart and I have usually been able to get pretty much what I go for. Then, I might go to Newnan, GA and Fayetteville, GA. It depends if I have anyone to go with me.
