  1. I for certain will not be at TRU!!! Their ad didn't look good at all and more importantly, I will be with my family!
  2. I went ahead and got the Disney infinity at walmart for $55. They had it in store for $79.96 for the xbox but online they had it for around $55 so I price matched them with their online price and got it. (i didn't know they arent suppose to priced match with theirselves until I got to the register and the girl told me. She was kind enough to allow it but had to get a CSM to approve it). I know TRU is suppose to have it on sale n BFbut that's not a place that I'll be hitting up so I just went hophead and got it.
  3. Stay at inlaws most of the day and then eat lunch around 2pm. Afterwards we look over the ads and everyone makes a list of things they want to buy each other. Afterwards I head to my parents and stay awhile. Once we leave there I normally go home and go to bed but the last 2 years I've went to walmart for a couple of items and then back home to get a few hours of sleep. Not sure if I'll have to go to walmart this year. Maybe not which will mean a couple more hours of sleep. I'll get up around 2am and leave the house by 2:30 to start my shopping. Im usually back home around 2pm Friday and exhausted!! I have to sound the rest of the day relaxing.
  4. I don't live near a Publix. . The only grocery store I'm near is walmart, food lion and IGA. I may have to make the challah bread if I can't find it at one of those places. I've never made it before so I may need to try it before thanksgiving. How many days should I make it in advance? If I make it on the tuesday night before, would it still be good on Thanksgiving morning?
  5. Just wanted to see if anyone fixes a big breakfast on Thanksgiving morning. I try to fix a good breakfast since I don't have to cook for Thanksgiving. I'm lucky enough to still have my parents and inlaws and they aren't ready to give up the cooking and letting the us older adults fix lunch/supper so I like to fix something good for breakfast. This year I was thinking about fixing some bacon and French toast. I have never cooked good french toast and am very unsure on what is the best bread to use. I have read alot of recipes to use day old sliced bread but when I have used sliced regular sandwich bread before, it just doesn't taste as good. I want to use something different but not sure what. Any suggestions or good recipes for french toast?
  6. It makes me wonder if fights will become more of an issue due to people being up all day with no nap and then shopping all night with still no rest, which will cause more people to be cranky and irritable. Every year I end up bumping someone or someone bumps me by accident and I always apologize and they have to, but when will it happen that I my purse bumps someone and they go off b/c they are so tired and ill? That just might be a breaking point for me if that does happen. It may sound far fetched, but I do believe that fights will become more common due to this.
  7. Thanks alot! I'll be sure to be checking in to see what all y'all have posted then to see when I need to start my online shopping. Thanks for answering all my questions. It seems like there might be more strategic planning needed for online then there is when I actually go out and shop. LOL! Atleast it does to me since I will be new at it. Going out and dealing with the crowds and trying to get to each store seems easier to me only b/c I've been doing it so long. Maybe I'll really enjoy the online shopping this year and will start doing more of that than going to the actual stores in the coming years. Thats a BIG maybe though....I love being out at the stores with everyone and getting in the Christmas spirit. LOL!
  8. I have never done online shopping on Thanksgiving/Black friday only b/c I am in bed getting as much sleep as I can before I have to leave BF morning to head out to the mall. I am contemplating trying to get a few deals on Thanksgiving online that night before I go to sleep but I have some questions about it. 1. Are the websites you shop at running slow due to so much traffic online b/c of all the other people shopping? 2. Can you go ahead and put the item you want in your "shopping cart" and then once 8pm or 12pm (whatever time the sale starts) hit check out and the price will automatically adjust? 3. Is it even worth it? Do you get much better deals online? 4. Are the same sales they post in their ads the same online? Sorry for so many questions but I will be a newby at shopping online for BF. I have bought many things online but this is new to me. I'm not going shopping on THanksgiving b/c I would much rather spend all my time with my family but my 8pm, we are home and I figured I might could snatch a few deals before I went to bed.
  9. I've to had said this many times, but I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT!!! I agree that its not fair for all the employees that have to work. Especially those that had to prepare, cook and clean up for Thanksgiving. Those that atleast get to relax on Thanksgiving and get in a good few hours nap may not be as exhausted if they have to work that night. Not that it makes it right for them having to do that just so they can go into work at 8pm and work til 4am. Its just not right. I don't see any problems with shopping online on Thanksgiving b/c your at home and you can put your laptop down and spend time with family but I just feel so bad for those employees who have to work on Turkey Day!
  10. I do think a 6 and 4 year old wouldn't understand the value of a GC or certificate. At that age they want something they can use "right now". Can you take them there one day when you are babysitting and tell them this is their Christmas gift or maybe do a spa day and go get their nails and toes done? As far as your cousins, I think that's a great idea!

    Stocking stuffers!

Ive started putting Axe body wash and American eagle body spray in my DS stocking. He's 11 and started wanting the "smell good" stuff about 2 years ago. I also buy money soap for both my DH and DS stockings and they love it. My 6 yr old DS doesn't care for all that stuff just yet
  12. I started in 2002. I was a new mom and my SIL and MIL finally talked me into giving it a try. I was hooked after that and been going every year since then.
  13. Does anyone know if BB and B have good BF deals? I need a comforter set for DS and really wanted to get it from there
  14. I bought some last year and they weren't on sale on BF. I had to pay full price (sucks..I know') I went in a couple of time before Chrisrmas and they never did go on sale. There's a boutique near me that runs. 40%off coupon at Christmas and they let u use them on MissMe jeans but they only order in ONE length, which makes them super long on me and Iam 5'4 so I haven't bought any from them.
  15. I started listening on pandora on my phone at work already!!
  16. My hubby called me at work yesterday to tell me that TRU has some of their legos B1G1 40% off so I looked and couldn't believe how much more they are compared to walmart. For the 2 item I wanted, Walmart was still cheaper than TRU even with the 40% off.

    Christmas Already?

Our local walmart has a few items out for Christmas. When I walked out to garden center, I was expecting to see the summer clearance stuff but saw many pallets of Christmas stuff for them to put out. I was hoping to find some clearanced chair/table sets for my back porch but I couldn't see any of it b/c of all the christmas boxes. LOL! I'm not complaining. I love seeing all the christmas decorations when they start putting them out.
  18. Do the lego stores normally have pretty good sales on black friday? We have a lego store here but I won't be going to it until black friday (if the sale is worth it). I already have my DS the Lego City Fire and Police Depts on layaway. I'm thinking getting him the coast guard as well but not sure yet.
  19. Legos (even though I already have some on layaway), possibly a tv for DS, tools for the hubby, clothes, shoes
  20. So today I went to walmart to put a couple of the Lego cities on layaway. One of them was $99 and the other $80. Well after I put them in my cart, I looked on walmarts website and the $99 one was $77 and the $80 one was $54. I took both of them to layaway and said I needed to price match both of them. The girl had to get a CSM to turn the key and allow it b/c the price difference was so high. Afterwards she asked who had them so cheap and I said "y'all did on ur website". She said they werent allowed to price match with theirselves online. I was like, "seriously? That's crazy". The girl agreed and still let me have the price match, which was very sweet but she agreed that it was crazy of them not to price match themselves if it means they are getting the sale. I'm glad I was able to get them at the online price but I had noooooo idea they wouldn't honor thir own online price when u buy it in store.
  21. So I just looked at my calendar and saw that if I put our Christmas decor up Thanksgiving weekend then we will only have it up 3 1/2 weeks before Christmas to really enjoy it. I don't keep my decor up very long after Christmas so I've decided that I'm gonna put some of my stuff up the weekend before Thanksgiving. I'll still wait until Thanksgiving weekend to buy our tree but all the other fake trees and decor will go up before then.
  22. So I just looked at Targets cyber sale they have today and they have soooo many legos sets. Is the b1G1 30% off a good deal on them though? I'm gonna let him look at them tonight and give me some ideas of the ones he wants. I guess the sale being good also depends on how much Iam going to have to pay in shipping. IDK if I'll buy enough to get the free shipping.
  23. Is the Kindle fire something that normally goes on sale? I'm contemplating getting one for my DS11. I've gotta get a nabi for my 6 yr old and if I dont get my DS11 the kindle then I'll probably get him a new itouch.
  24. I am probably gonna wanna kick myself in the butt for not getting some sets at target this week while they were 20% off but when I went and looked, I was shocked at how many different sets there were. I have NO clue which ones my son wants. My DH was with me and didn't know which ones either. He's just now getting into wanting legos so This is my first "Lego" rodeo. LOL! I told him I was gonna take him to walmart so he could make a list of ones he wants us to get and ones he's gonna ask Santa for. IDK know if he even realizes all the different Lego sets they have. All I know is he definitely wants a helicopter one, which I saw it and will get it. Do they sell a Lego box to put them in? I can't deal with them being every where and us stepping on them.
