I was just about to type that I would say go ahead and buy it just so you will atleast have it but I personally would still try to get it at Target/Walmart if they have it at a better rate on BF. I have found this is the best way for me to ensure that i get what my boys are wanting. I'm not saying I do this on all the items, but if they want something that I know is a hot item and Target has it onsale one week before BF then I'll go ahead and get it but still try to get it on BF. One year I got my DS an Xbox360 on sale at Target but on BF they had it at a better deal w/ a $50 GC. I brought my sons xbox with me that i had bought and when I got the one I target, I immediately returned the other one and got my money back. I figured if I went ahead and returned the original one that I bought it would add 1 more to their stock pile that day for some other person to get. Not sure if I'll have to do any of that this year. They havent' really told me anything that I think will be a hot item this year. Which is fine with me. LOL!

I to am having to buy Legos for the first time this year. Both of my DS want them. I may look and see what Target has since they are on sale this week. I didn't know if it was a hot item to sale on BF. I may look back at last year target/walmart ads from BF to see if they advertised them as a sale item. If not, then I'll probably go ahead and get them at Target. Thanks for posting that Target has them on sale this week.

So, I know this topic isn't related to Black Friday, but I didn't see the Holidays forum that is normally on here. I guess it hasn't opened up yet. Anyway, so every year I put our tree up Thanksgiving weekend. Primarily b/c I put up a real tree and don't want to buy it to early and then by Christmas day it look all dried up. Over the weekend though, my 6 DS was really wanting me to go ahead and put up my fake tree that I put in the dining room. It got me thinking that this year, I may just go ahead and put all my decorations out (except the real tree) maybe the 2nd weekend in November. I want to enjoy all my decorations that I have spent alot of money on, more than just 1 month. I know I can leave them up after Christmas but by then I'm just ready to take it down and get back to some kind of normalcy. I didn't know if anyone else put their's up early.

As in every year, I really hope they don't open up any earlier than what they did last year. I think its soon gonna be ALL the stores opening up regular time on Thanksgiving Day. It will no longer be a holiday for those employees. Its not fair for them, but I understand when you need a job, you need a job. I wish all the stores would wait until atleast 4am to start opening up.

My 6 yr old DS wants a nabi this year but IDK if I'm better off getting him some other tablet. He mainly wants it to play games on or watch videos. I've heard mixed reviews from co-workers but wanted to get y'alls input as well.

I've done good on stocking stutters so far since I've bought all year long. I have to buy for 10 stockings so it helps to not wait til last minute. Other than that, I've bought 6 gifts so far. I obviously have ALOT to still do. LOL! I'm trying to hold out for BF though since that's when I get the best deals and the most done. I'll still pick stuff up before then though.

Does anyone have any reviews on an Orion tv? Walmart is gonna have a 24 inch Orion that I would like to get but I haven't found any reviews on it.
-
I have a proscan and it's not worth the money at all. The picture isn't great and the sound isn't any better. I ignored the bad reviews before I bought this tv and now I realize what a mistake it was. Seriously, don't waste your money!!

I for one am pretty happy about the ads except for target. I'm more surprised that I'll be at kmart this year. I've never had to shop on thanksgiving day, but I'm gonna TRY and get 2 tvs.
-
This year is gonna be a little less than years past. I should have at least $700 in the bank ready and willing to be spent. I have to admit that years that I've gone and not had as much $ as years past, I've actually done really good. As usual, I plan to do even better than the year before.

I love all the deals I get and just getting into the Christmas spirit!
-
I to wish they would go back to opening later. I wnt do the whole up all night this year. The last 2 years I've done and have gotten dog sick from nor getting any sleep. I guess I just can't hang and I'm only 31!!!
-
I to need to get at leas a 32in tv this year and have never bought one on BF. I may just put one on layaway at walmart just so I can avoid the madness on BF. That's one item I don't want to spend my entire BF night waiting in line to get.

I didn't know if there was already a thread for this so if this one needs to be moved, then that's fine.....anyway, I have 2 sons and both want a 3ds. I saw that right now they are $169. Target has them on sale that if you buy 1 then you egg a $20 GC. Does anyone think this might be the best I'm gonna get on buying 2 of them or should I hold off? Im trying to be even more frugal than I was last year which might be impossible. I did pretty darn good last year with all my coupons and savings.

Well, I can't believe it happened to me again this year, but I got sick AGAIN!!!!! We started at midnight at kohls where I was doing fine. Left there and went to target where Ii was still doing ok. Left there and headed to the mall. About an hour after we got to the mall, I started feeling yucky. I was the driver so when we left to go home I had to drrive us back which was an hour driive. The entire way home, I was panicky b/c I was shakey, not feeling well, weak, and exhausted. I had good luck buying stuff but even as I sit here today (saturday at 5pm), I am still not fully recovered. Puking all day along with still feeling tired is not fun. I did the exact same thing last year but I thought I had gotten sick last year b/c I didn't eat well or stay hydrated. I did everything right this year, but I guess my body just can't hang with staying up for so long with no sleep.

I never thought trying to find a remote control robot would be so hard. My DS(4) is asking for a robot for christmas. He wants it to be remote control as well. I have looked on amazon and found a Mr. Robot for $25 but when I looked at a video of it on youtube, it didn't look real impressive. I am trying to find one that isn't going to cost more than $30 (including shipping). This is for a 4 year old, after all and it may not last but just a few months. LOL! I can't find one on walmart, target, TRU website that is reasonable enough in price. Any help would be appreciated on where I could find one. Bless his heart, all he has asked for christmas is a robot and a DS lite so he'll def. be getting both of them, plus other things as well, but I want to get atleast the 2 main things he has asked for.

How much is the money soap at hallmark? I saw them somewhere a few weeks ago and remember thinking, "how neat", but I can't remember when I saw it. Do you know anywhere its sold at? I think this would be a great idea for my 2 boys and hubby.

Your post reminds me of the first time I went shopping. I didn't have much money. I only had $200 saved. Me and my hubby were 19 year old newly weds and it was hard to just save that $200. Anyway, I ended up getting so much stuff for $200. I was amazed at how well I did. I'm happy for you and hope you have lots of luck. -

I to am still waiting on some of the bigger ads (walmart, target, etc). I have seen a few things at Kohls and JCP that I need to get. Overall, I am neither disapointed or overly excited about the prices/items on sale. Some years I get alot of stuff and feel like I didn't spend alot and then some years, I come home with hardly anything. I still enjoy it no matter what. Its the excitment of being out their shopping with everyone and being with my MIL and SIL. I always hope that I have luck and bring home lots of stuff. I'm actually taking a day off work during the week this year to buy presents so if I don't do good on BF then I'll know I've got that day coming up to try again. LOL! -
I absolutely love the time I get to spend shopping with my MIL and SIL, not to mention all the great sales I get!
-
does anyone know if target will put this ad in a sunday paper? I am not close enough to a target to go in and get an ad so I was hoping they would maybe put it in the paper.

I am for one not happy about this. Its just getting crazier and crazier with opening up so early. I wish so much they would all go back to opening atleast alittle later (4am). I remember when I first started shopping on BF, the stores opened at 6am, and then it got moved up earlier to 4am, then 3am and now midnight?!? I know some stores have been opening at midnight in the past few years, but come on retailers! Think about your employees!!! They would like to spend time with their family on Thanksgiving and not have to worry about making sure they get in a nap so they can be at work at midnight. I know not everyone feels the same way as me, but I for one like the time I get to spend with my family that I don't get to see but just once a year without having to stop and take a hour nap. I go shopping with a group so I don't know if they will want to start at midnight.
