I personally hate the midnight openings. I went last year to walmart at midnight and was up over 24 hours. I had actually only been up about 18 hours when I started getting so nauseated and sick. I tried to sleep in my SIL truck while her and my MIL were shopping (hoping this would help how I felt), but I couldn't ever fall asleep. I blame my sickness on me not eating anything for supper b/c I was super stuffed from thanksgiving lunch and the fact that i had been up since 7am thanksgiving morning with no nap. I need atleast a couple of hours of sleep before I get up and do a days worth of shopping. I like being at kohls when they open, then hitting up target and then the mall. We are usually done by lunch and then its a hour drive back home. Afterwards, I am drained, my feet hurt, my hair is a mess and my make up is gone, but its still my most favorite holiday of the year! LOL!

OMG, I cant believe I won this time!!!! What a lucky day this has been today. I took my kids to my sisters churchs' fall festival and both me and my boys won cakes at the cake walk. Then both of my boys had their names drawn to win door prizes. They won a Mcdonalds GC and an Itunes card. Now, I log on and find out that I was one of the winners of this contest. How awesome! Thanks Brad. I sent you a msg giving you my name and address. Please let me know if you didn't get it.

Does anyone know about xbox live gc's? My nephew wants a xbox live gift card that is good for a year. I looked at Gamestop and saw that they are $60. Do they go on sale at christmas? That might be a dumb question, but if I get him the xbox live card then that will take a big chunk out of the money that I spend on him. I hate for that to be it. His mom is a single mom and I always tend to go over board for him and my niece. He also wants me to get him some clothes from american eagle and I'm sure I'll get him some stuff from there on BF.

I am one of those that dont like starting my BF shopping at midnight. I like it starting at 4am! I need just a couple of hours of sleep....geez! LOL! I remember when I first started BF shopping, the stores didn't open til 6am. If they were to all go back to that, then I think we would all feel like we have over slept and missed all the deals. I think its eventually going to come to most of the major stores opening at midnight. If that is the case, then I hope the malls will open atleast by 1-2am. I would hate to be at target at midnight and have to wait until 6am for the mall to open. Of course waiting that long isn't as long as alot of people who camp out, but still, I like having my plans mapped out and knowing what time I'll be at each store without having to wait hours for another store to open.

Seriously Brad? They sent the letter?!? I will NEVER shop at Walmart on BF again. I'm sure them not getting my money is going to really hurt their pockets! LMAO!! You did say cue the whining and complaining. Hahahaha!! I usually don't hit up walmart until later in the afternoon anyway but if there is something that I really need then I'll just have mom pick it up for me. She likes to go to WM on BF while I hit up target, kohls and the mall.

Thanks everyone. I tried the B1G1 50% off alittle while ago on the 2 games that I need, but it won't let me do it b/c 1 game is an Xbox game that is part of the B2G1F deal and the DS Lite game is part of the B1G1 50% off sale. When I added them both to my cart, it only let me choose the option of B2G1F. I don't need 3 games but that might change. Hopefully amazon will do the B1G1 50% off and I'll be able to get both games from them.

I saw that TRU is doing their B1G1 50% off or you can B3G1F on some of their games right now. Does anyone know if they will do a B1G1F? This will be the 1st year I need to buy multiple games and didn't know if they ever do B1G1F or if Amazon does. Any suggestions on the best deal for my buck? I need to get Mario Brothers for DS Lite and Dirt 3 for Xbox 360.

Just wanted to find out if anyone went to their local walmart and put anything on layaway today. I didn't know if any of you had any problems with the cashiers/customer service reps in the layaway depts. I was hoping to go at lunch and try to put a ds lite on layaway but I have a feeling that they may all be gone by then. Just wanted to read any others stories.

I have a feeling that on Oct 17, walmart is going to be quite busy with alot of people putting stuff on layway. I dont' blame them though. I need to use layaway, but I'll probably wait until that weekend to do my shopping (alot of other people are probably thinking the same thing, so they may be busy that day as well). I just hope they have the DS Lites b/c that is what my DS (4) wants. He's to young for me to worry about paying the extra $ for a DSi so I'm hoping I can find a DS Lite. I have read that they are discontinuing them. I'll have to go to gamestop and buy him a bunch of used games. He won't care though. He's just going to be happy to have a DS. :)

I do not live in Wilson, but I am in NC. I am actually in Sampson County. I actually make the over an hour drive to Raleigh to do my BF shopping. They have so many more options than Fayetteville (which is who I am closer to). They have more than 1 mall, kohls, walmart, target, etc and this helps so much b/c not everyone is at the same store like it is in Fayetteville. The crowds arent nearly as bad in Raleigh and I just enjoy it so much better. Not sure how far away of a drive Raleigh is from you, but I would recommend taking it. I have to leave my house at around 1:30-1:45am to be at kohls at 3am, but its worth it to me. We actually shop at Triangle Town Center.

I'll be taking your advice and packing some snacks this year. I learned my lesson from last year, but I still don't see how some people go over 24 hours with no sleep and not get sick. I didn't think it would happen to me b/c it never crossed my mind but it did. I'll need alteast 2 hours of sleep before I get up and get going. I think nuts is a great idea. Maybe some pistachios...yum!

I'll probably spend the same amount as last year. However, I have been couponing hot and heavy this year, so I might come out alittle cheaper than last year. I get alot of B1G1F coupons on stuff like make up, candles, etc and those are great for stocking stuffers. I have already gotten alot of my stuffers off of clearance racks throughout the year so that has saved me some money. Dont get me wrong, I always coupon at Chrismtas time, but this year I'm going to be smarter about it and scope out the best deals..

Last year I stayed up all night for BF (over 24 hours straight). By 2am, i was sick as a dog. By 3:30am i was throwing up. I was over an hour from my house and was with my SIL and MIL so I couldn't just leave. I don't know how I got thru it, but I did. I eventually started feeling better but feeling so sick had drained alot of my energy and even though, I still did very good with getting alot of gifts, I had decided to never do that again. I will get a couple of hours of sleep this year and be at kohls at 3am when they open. I think alot of my sickness not only came from being up so long with no sleep but b/c I didn't eat any supper from being full from thanksgiving lunch. I drank a small cup of coffee at midnight and my brother gave me one of those small energy drinks. I only drank a swallow off of it b/c i thought it tasted nasty. I'm so excited for this year though. In fact, me and my kids have been watching some christmas shows on Netflix today already!

Ok, so this makes my 4th attempt to put my BF expeirence on here and it keeps not posting it so instead of posting my long story again, I am going to give the short version. I stayed up 30 straight hours for BF. NEVER AGAIN will I do that. My body didn't care for that to much. By 4am, I was puking and felt like I had the flu. I wasn't sleepy though. Some how and I dont know how, but I made it thru it and got alot of great deals. I even had to get my SIL to stand in line for me a few times so I could run to the bathroom and throw up! Our timeline went like this 12am-Walmart, 3:00am-Kohls, 4:15-Target, 8am-HH Gregg, 9:30am-Mall. We were eating lunch by 11:30 and home by 1:30pm. Overall, Target was the best. I bought my DS his Xbox 360 and got $60 in GC. I spent another $100 on toys/clothes/etc and got another $10 GC. Not to bad! I am going shopping again this weekend and don't plan on getting sick again. LOL!

does amazon come out with a list of items that they will have on sale? I never shop on amazon, but I've read so many people saying they got amazing deals on there last year so I wanted to check it out this year.

Does anyone think the XBox 360 4G is going to be a HOT seller on Bf? I am debating on buying one now just in case I dont get one on BF and taking the chance that I may not get my hands on one after BF. What is everyones opinion?

I think its not going to be long before they all open at midnight. I hope it doesn't come to that though. Thats just me. My MIL said tonight that this may be her last year b/c of the stores opening up earlier and earlier. Then again, she's been saying that for the last few years. LOL! If the mall and stores (kohls, target) that I shop at on BF wasn't over an hour away, then I probably wouldn't mind it, but if I am going to be at kohls at 3am, then I am going to have to leave by 1:30am.

My DS wants an xbox 360 for christmas. Everywhere I go, the 4GB one is $199. I have a $15 GC to Target that I am going to use for the xbox but I am wondering if I should buy it now or wait until BF. I almost hope Target doesn't put them on sale b/c then I won't get one since that is not one of the first places I go to. I was thinking if I waited until BF to get it then I would def. get those $10 GC that Target gives if you buy $100 worth of stuff. That would be the only reason why I would wait until BF to buy the thing. My question is pretty much should I wait and take the chance of everyone selling out and I don't end up with one or just go ahead and use my $15 GC that i have now and buy the thing.

IDK either but I wish some of the stores would come on already and release their ads!!! It would be nice to know so I could start planning on how much more money I should be saving.

My DS is wanting the xbox 360 this year and I am going to get it for him, but the cheapest one I could find was for $199. It only has 4GB, but he's only 8 so he doesn't need the 250GB one. I have been looking online to see if anyone has them onsale and haven't had much luck. Has anyone seen these less than $200? *Iam sure this thread has been started about game systems but I have looked at past threads and didn't see one, so I'm guessing I am missing it.

Every year, I feel like I go with less and less money, but I always end up getting the same great deals and feel like I buy just as much. I have become alot better at being organized enough to know that something is cheaper at one store over another. I think this year, I am only going to with about $500. I sure do hope that is enough. I am use to taking around $1,000. Well not in cash atleast. I usually get my christmas bonus at work a week later and get to hit the stores again that weekend. How much do you guys spend in stocking stuffers as well. I have to buy stuff for 9 people to go in stockings. I easily spend $75. I really need to find a cheaper way of buying stuff to go in stockings without it being just a bunch of crap thats going to get tossed in the trash once the holidays are over.

I know Toys R Us, Sears and Kmart does layway but is there anyone else doing layway this year that doesn't do it normally throughout the year? I'm sure kmart, sears, etc do them throughout the year but I don't use layway any but at christmas. I wish sooooo much Walmart would bring it back. Anyone heard if they were going to bring it back this year?
