  1. I think this deal is dead, it was a one day special last weekend. It was the MALM 3-drawer chest. The new specials for this weekend are listed if you click the OP's link in the first post - a bed and a love seat.
  2. Thanks, I have a gift card balance that I need to "stretch"!
  3. I figured as much - and I'm heartbroken. The new section is tacky and doesn't interest me. I made some great scores in the Home Design section last year and was hoping for more (a lot of blank walls right now). I did see people buying it at full price (or almost full price, seemed like it went to 30% almost immediately). Then again, I live in an area with a lot of new homes and apartments and a lot of students - maybe it didn't do so well in other areas. Lots of women's clothing 75% off, including jeans, t's, sweaters, and: ### Women's "Limited Edition" holiday/party dresses 75% off ($9.98) To the poster looking for tandem strollers, there were several different styles/brands. I will try to remember to write down DCPI's next time.
  4. It is usually an additional 40% off clearance (items with pink markdown tags).
  5. 90% off in Frisco, TX. Lots of ornaments, one white prelit tree, quite a bit of wrapping paper, stockings, fake wreaths, some icicle lights. I am officially done (DH will be so happy, I have been spending the food money and he was starting to think we might starve next week! )
  6. LOL, I was shopping 90% off clearance today and an employee brought out a big ol' flatbed full of boxes of holiday merch. I got so excited thinking I'd get first pickings of some good stuff. It was box after box of holiday throw pillows (with a moose on it, kind of Woolrich-ish), and the cheap-o porcelain plate sets discussed earlier in the thread. I was really hoping it would be those cool gift items, like iPod speakers...but no luck! I bet sometimes they unearth a box of really good stuff so late that it has already been salvaged, so it never sees the floor!
  7. Sharpies were hanging in the seasonal section, I have also seen them on an endcap and at the bottom of boxes of leftover mixed stuff. You can tell they're Christmas because they have a blue snowflake pattern on the packaging and show a gift tag being filled out (also they come in black, red or green). The tape was in the regular office supply aisle, stocked there by mistake I am sure. You can tell it's the right one if it has a black price printed in the upper right corner. Singles and three-packs.
  8. Hit a couple more Targets - one was 90%, one was 75%. Found more Sharpies for .09, also more tape for .19. My fun find was an LED booklight for .50. Regarding refunds of seasonal clearance: today I returned some wrapping paper I bought a week ago at 75% off. Normally I wouldn't bother, but they still had a lot of that particular paper available for 90% off. It was the more expensive heavyweight variety, so the savings, while not huge, were significant. I really didn't care if they said no, I would have just kept it. They refunded me my full purchase price with no problems whatsoever. I did present a receipt.
  9. 90% off at West Plano, but only 75% off at Frisco (yes, I scanned). Some decent stuff left, including ornaments, unlit trees, stockings, cards, wrapping paper, some lights (mostly white icicle).
  10. I totally forgot to mention... I have been looking forward to the Global Home (or whatever the heck it's called lately, Home Design?) being set up in the void from the Christmas stuff, but instead my Target had set up what they are calling "The Great Save Event". There were crazy loud orange and pink signs all over and they seriously made the whole section look like a dollar store. They were claiming "huge savings without a warehouse store membership". It looked like they had the usual big packs of paper towels but also small appliances like toaster ovens. Here is the link to it on their website: http://www.target.com/gp/browse.html/ref=sc_iw_ss_1/?node=2233938011 Am I just confused, and they usually set up Global Home/Home Design later in the month? Or is there going to be none this year, in which case I will seriously cry?
  11. Target here was still 75% and not much left. I probably wouldn't bother at 90% except I know I will probably find random deals that have been overlooked. I did score a ton of stuff in the Dollar Spot though, they had one puny 75% off sign that no one was noticing. Got lots of bright-colored extra sticky Post-It Notes, some dog and kitty sticky notes, a couple rubber furniture-defurring tools, and a fire log DVD (all were 25 cents each). They also had mittens and gloves, 9 volt and AAA batteries, the aforementioned Jack Daniels coffee packs, and lots of stocking-stuffer type items like lip gloss, plastic dinos, pens/pencils etc. Thanks also to the poster of the dishwasher tabs deal. They were around $3.75/20 pack - $2.50 MQ = just over a buck each. YAY!
  12. I just checked out one store yesterday, there was stuff but not nearly as much as last year. I think it was only 30% right now, which is in keeping with this time last year. I saw a couple Pooh items, like a portable playpen and a swing. Also some very gender-specific carseats, strollers and swings (i.e. either pink and flowery or orange/brown and constructiony). I didn't see ANY furniture at all
  13. I think that is their official policy, but compliance varies by store, and possibly by state (some posters have said there are states where it is actually illegal for them to not give you your full price paid back). Here I have never had a problem getting the price I paid back as long as I have my receipt, even for seasonal stuff that has since been marked lower. However, I would never count on it or make too much of a stink since I know their "official" policy. I totally understand you making a stink in that situation though, and it's too bad they didn't do it for you one time as a good will situation.
  14. Dillards near us was a total zoo. I told DH we should have come earlier because they were pretty cleaned out by the time we got there. We did get some clothing for him and some lingerie for me. It seemed like a lot of clearance items weren't discounted very much, so after the additional 50% off, they still weren't as cheap as we're used to during their extra 40% off sales.
  15. We bought one of these last time they had this same sale and it is really a great piece for the money. I was able to assemble it myself, and I am challenged in that area (haha). Also, IKEA sells a glass top you can buy for it for around $15 that protects the top and makes it look a little fancier. I also added some drawer knobs which I bought at the IKEA service desk for $1 apiece so it would match another more expensive dresser from IKEA.
  16. Most stores including Target generally will not price adjust on clearance, but you can buy the lower-priced item and then return it using your old, higher-priced receipt as long as it is within the return period (usually 90 days).
  17. I sincerely doubt they would ever go to 75%. Is this the Animal? I was coveting that the other day, but we have the basic All Floors one from the last 50% off clearance, so I couldn't really justify getting yet another vacuum. Hope you score, I love my Dyson!
  18. Black Dollar Spot in Frisco was marked 75% but was scanning 50%. I think it was a signage error since Dollar Spot was 50% at other Targets. I didn't have the energy to even bother making my case, since I only wanted a couple of items, and not that bad. I did score a Scotch "Gift Wrap Pack" that was in the regular tape aisle. It had a gift wrap cutter and one roll of magic tape -plus- two refill rolls for $2 (75% off). I was able to use the $2 off any gift wrap cutter coupon I had (from a tape 3-pack scored earlier in the day), making it FREE - YAY! In case you want to keep an eye out for it, it was a big flat purple cardboard blister pack. Forgot to add - no Starbucks anywhere. Just one lonely mug that had been orphaned from a gift pack. Bummer.
  19. Aargh, I missed these. By chance, were they whole beans, or preground only? If it's whole beans I might go back and look, if not I won't bother since DH is such a coffee snob he HAS to grind it himself
  20. 75% off here. Managed to get everything I needed between my two closest stores. Still a TON of stuff left, so I will be checking back for 90% off bargains. Overheard an employee say they were selling the display trees for 90% off, and since they were plugged in, you can tell if they work! Might be worth inquiring at your store if you are interested (you might not get a box though). The sharpies are a great deal! I found black, red, and green for 24 cents each. Also scored some Scotch tape (singles and three-packs), pop-up tape, and gift wrap cutters. A note on the tape, I found lots of "Christmas" tape in the regular tape aisle (but also vice versa, I got charged full price for a tape and had to bring it in for a refund). The way to tell the difference is: on all the Scotch brand products, if it has a preprinted price in the corner, it is Christmas and will be discounted. Otherwise they look identical. I was disappointed to see the holiday fragranced items (Glade, Febreeze, Method, etc) were only 15% off - WTH? Could have bought them cheaper before the holidays! Also Smith & Hawken holiday and schmancy Christmas section were only 30%.
  21. I don't get it either, I'm in North Texas and have way more use for patio furniture now than I would have in central California where I am from, because winter is the rainy season in CA. Maybe it's only southern CA where there is patio selection year round? On a related note, I saw garden and outdoor items 50% off (hoses, some tools, sprinklers, solar lights). Furniture from the schmancy Christmas section was 30% (end tables, ottomans).
  22. Thanks for the heads up, got a last minute game for DH for CHEAP and an extra one for ME! Hope the pathetic computer can play them... I noticed some of the toys on endcaps are 50% off even though the endcaps said 30%. I saw Twilight dolls and some Japanese-looking house/playset thingees (sorry, not up on my toys, not sure what they are called), among others.
  23. I am confused, I don't think the stores here have had patio stuff since before Christmas, when it went 75% off. Is this at stores with an outside garden/patio section (do they still have those? I know several stores that got rid of those sections to expand the inside store). I did see that some garden stuff and solar light sets are going clearance.
  24. Wow, that would be so awesome for the holiday food drives! I'm going to check tomorrow...
  25. We didn't get this one, but both my husband and I each got one about a month ago with coupons. The funny thing was, they were each slightly different, with coupons in a different order and some different coupons. Neither one of us has a Target cc. I know they can get your address is you use a regular cc because I have ended up on countless catalog mailing lists this way (shortly after making a cc purchase, and not giving the store any personal information, I get their catalog).
