Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009
luvbargainz replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Thank you for the review - I was overwhelmed by the selection of clearance heaters and had no idea which one to buy! This one sounds great. I only hope I haven't waited too long and that they have some left... All my nearest Target had yesterday was the large oil-filled heaters that are only 30% off (and kind of huge and heavy!) I am going to check another T for the one you mentioned. -

All portable heaters and fireplace supplies 75% off in DFW area. LOTS of heaters left here, of every type; fireplace is dwindling. Domestics/housewares pretty cleaned out, too. -

Yeah, I went back a couple hours later to get one for my MIL and they were all gone, so I did the rounds of the other Targets and none of them had any. All they had was the pink Root 6 (not Animal version) and they were all full price. None of the other stores even had a spot for the Root 6 Animal. So I feel very lucky to have got the ones I did. DH is thrilled and doesn't even care that the fullsize one is pink! I wish I could have found some decent towels at 75% during the last domestics clearance, but in my experience towels go QUICK. All I ever find are washcloths - towels never seem to be around at 75%, and if they are, it's just a straggler or two, no matching sets. Hence I went ahead and paid full price! -

Got a fantastic deal on some Dyson vacuums: ### 072070202 Dyson DC07 Pink full size vacuum $199.50 (50% off) ### 072070552 Dyson DC16 Root 6 Animal handheld vacuum $99.50 (50% off) The crazy thing was, they gave me a $75 gift card for buying the DC07 - which is the promotion for the full-priced Dysons this week! So the net price was $124.50, with $30 of the purchase price going to breast cancer research! Their little ploy worked though, 'cause I blew the gift card on some FULL PRICED towels... AAARRRGGGHHHH... they were so soft I couldn't resist... -

This is a combination clearance find and INF story... Last week I was at the local regular Target on my day off and found a Garmin Heart Monitor watch on an endcap that I had seen over a month ago. It was marked 69.XX down from 99.XX, which was the same as it was a month ago when I passed. I remembered another poster finding it for 75%, so I went to scan it and it came up INF. So I chucked it in my cart and was planning on taking it to customer service. In Housewares I saw an employee with a scan gun. I politely asked her if she could check the price because it came up INF, and that I remembered it from a long time ago and it should definitely be cheaper by now. She did her thing and finally said "it's 24.98.". I thanked her and asked if it would ring up at that price when I went to check out, and she assured me it would. I noted her name, which was the same as mine. When I went to check out, of course it rang up for the $69.XX price. I told the cashier what the employee had told me. They ended up having to call her on the radio. She told them, it's a long story, but yes, it's $24.98. So the cashier changed the price. When I told her, "that's funny, the employee assured me it would ring up for $24.98" the cashier told me, "yeah, she was being lazy and didn't want to deal with it." Anyway, I'm happy and my cheapo heart monitor works great! -

Did you check the expiration dates on the sunscreen? I only ask because I saw some at either Frisco or Plano West that was on clearance but it was REALLY close to expiration date, so I passed. I am very wary of that now, I had to return some cereal that I got on clearance at Target that was close to (but not past) the expiration date because it was stale. -

V-day was only 50% in West Plano and yes, I did scan it So on Sunday evening DH casually mentions that he wished he had a desk for the study, and I nearly throttled him since I had seen desks at the Home Design event and was sure they were now all gone. So I drag him back to Target and was amazed to find one, still in the box! Happy dance! We ended up getting that, plus a wooden drawer unit, each ringing under $60. Today I had a Dr's appt near the Target... so of course I had to check to see if anything interesting had been returned! LOL! All that was left in Home Design were some gray end tables and a couple dinged-up mirrors. I did manage to score an 8-piece bed-in-bag set for 75% off in Housewares, which is getting pretty cleaned out as well (although some of the new stuff looks really cute, can't wait for the next clearance round (July/Aug, right?) -

Saw in another post, IKEA Houston is actually a franchise (weird, huh?) so it doesn't get the same corporate deals as other IKEAs. -

Last year they went to 90% off, but there has been speculation that this year they will not. I know that none of my stores will have anything decent left by Monday, which may be the day they will go to 90%. They pretty much had nothing left yesterday. However, last year I scored some good items at 90% off that were obviously returns, so you never know. -

That was a good score, I have not seen those at any of the DFW Targets I went to, just lots of the gray sectional pieces. I think our stores did the markdown either late Thursday or really early Friday, because by the time I started doing my "rounds", I knew I was too late (you know when you are walking up to Target, and you see tons of emplyees helping customers load stuff into their SUV's off flatbeds, and you instantly think to yourself, "DARN!!! Shoulda come earlier!!!!") -

Lots of good scores in the DFW area. GB/Home Design was 75% off everywhere, although not always marked as such. Not all that much left, though. Quite a bit of furniture, although it was flying out of there. IMHO, most of it wasn't even worth it at 75% off, and some of it seemed downright dangerous. Housewares (bed/bath) were mostly 75% off. Baby and toy deals are long gone, except for a straggler misplaced on an end cap here and there. I scored: ### 060040161 Waverly Home Queen sheet set in black, $14.98 (75%) ### 060100892 Home Queen sheet set, teal stripes, $9.98 (75%) ### 064130269/72 Waverly bathroom rugs, cream colored, $2.48/$3.74 (75%) ### 067100320/29 Deerskin plush throws in tan and light blue, $6.24 (75%) COZY! ### 067100366 Home red boucle throw $6.98 (75%) ### 097010433 Rattan waste basket $5.12 (75%) ### 097010439 Small glass canister with wooden lid, $2.48 (75%) ### 236000056 Home Design Decor ball $1.24 (75%) ### 236000083 HD Brown metallic ceramic "wooden log" vase, $8.74 (75%) ### HD White ceramic and light wood bath items (soap dispenser, etc) $3.XX-$8.XX (75%) ### 236160168 HD wall decor - stretched canvas with brown abstract flowers $19.98 (75%) ### 037050922 Burts Bees lemon butter cuticle cream purse sized $0.62 (?) ### 074152844/45 Thomas O'Brien silver mirrored picture frames $3.24/$3.74 (75%) ### 060070371 Thomas O'Brien Decorator pillow, oblong red $8.24 (75%) ### 060100789 Home Full/Queen quilt, black white and blue $14.98 (75%) ### 060110980 Home Queen flannel sheet set, $6.24 (75%) ### 074152946 Room Essentials 16x20 keepsake pinboard frame $7.48 (75%) ### 236070086 HD wall decor - botanical prints x2 $9.98 (75%) And the best scores of all: ### 062030125 Sunbeam Queen electric blanket in tan $19.98 (75%) ### 037051262 Philosophy bath gel in Waffle Cone and Cafe au Lait $4.00 (75%) The Philosophy was only marked 50% and I only found those two on a random endcap, but a nice employee agreed to mark them down to the Home Design 75% off price. Yay for nice Target employees!!! Also got a Venus Vibrance and replacement blades for 50% off. Did not find the Waverly Home queen sheet set in red I have been coveting, or the previously mentioned shelving units. But otherwise I am happy! Phew! -

Forgot to add, if anyone in the DFW area is still looking for Smores or Biscuit, as of this evening the Richardson Target had one of each. Edited to say, 75% off (duh!) -

Some random finds in the last couple of days: ### Greatland portable hammock, around $20 (75%) This had mixed reviews online, but I set it up in the living room and it worked great (would not have paid full price, tho). ### 088040265 Nike Durafeel Mens Golf Glove $2.54 (75%) ### 088040977 Nike Womens Golf Visor $4.24 (75%) They also had a lot of Jr golf gloves and random golf items like softspikes and tees. Wish I could have found a womens' golf glove that fit so I can use that $2X.XX golf set I got a couple weeks back. I also scored two Christmas organizers (small stacking boxes and an ornament box), an Eddie Bauer weatherstation and a Star Wars Didj that had to have been returns or back room stragglers because they were definitely not there the last several times I looked. -

### 088041012 Cougar Womens Golf Starter Set $22.48 (75% off) No clue if this will be any good, but the hubby has been bugging me to hit the links (or at least the driving range) with him, so I figure this would be a cheap way to get started. Still listed for $89.99 online. Pink breast cancer awareness/donation box. -

I think this has been posted previously, but just in case: ### 009110752 Home Solar Coach Light 18-pc Set $17.48 (reg 69.99) Found on an endcap in the gardening section. Not sure if I will keep these, the reviews are not so good. Also saw gas grills at 50% off, I want to say Amana brand???. Toys were pretty picked over, still marked 30% but lots marked or scanning at 75%. Unforunately I didn't see many of the great finds PPs got, most of the 75% was trendy stuff like Hannah Montana/Camp rock, Indiana Jones, etc. Clothes and shoe clearance was pretty thin and no additional % off. I am pretty excited about the potential Home and "Global Bazaar" markdowns! Lots left and every endcap overflowing at 30% off...I will be watching! -

### 249 00 0022 Cosco Padded Folding Chair 8.74 (reg 34.99) These were actually comfortable and they had a bunch a couple of days ago. I can't remember if it was at Frisco or West Plano though, sorry... Would be great for a nonprofit or church group (or the weekend poker game, LOL) -

Sorry folks, I know a couple of you asked...I was doing the TdeT (Tour de Target). West Plano and Richardson were 90%. Frisco and Plano (the regular Target) were only 75%. Honestly, I didn't get much, nothing to get too excited about. No pre-lit trees, just a couple of fiber optic ones. Lots of very plain-looking wreaths and garlands. Not much in the way of decor or pre-boxed gifts. No lights or ornaments other than plain ones. Lots of wrapping stuff, but all pretty basic. Ah well, I had fun anyway - the thrill of the hunt. -

90% off in North Texas. Not a lot left, which is surprising since there was a ton on Saturday, however I was able to get all my wrapping needs for next year. The new Global Bazaar (I can't help calling it that) looks nice, very "Elle Decor"-ish. -

That is nuts. Last week I redeemed two $5.00 coupons on these items with no problems whatsoever; the cashier did have to key in the amounts manually since they wouldn't scan. Your store is definitely violating both Target and the manufacturers' policies, and it is bad business practice to drive you away to another store! I would complain to the manager. BTW, I have also returned items that I used coupons on and they refund me the full amount, including the value of the coupon (if they didn't, they would essentially be "double-dipping" - making the money off the manufacturer AND the customer). -

Saw lots of small kitchen appliances marked down anywhere from 30-75% off. Here are some of the ones I was able to write down: ###072-04-1528 Hamilton Beach Meal Maker deep fryer $14.98 (75%) ###072-04-0084 Food Saver V2440 Plus $34.98 (75%) ###072-04-1542 Crock Pot Smart Set 6-Qt $34.98 (50%) ###072-04-1545 Crock Pot One Pot $9.98 (75%) They also had various blenders, electric skillets, and toaster ovens marked down 30-50%. Wine fridge and margarita makers were still 50% off. -

I noticed something weird today. I bought some College 08 stuff for 75% off over the weekend at the Target nearest me. They had a whole double aisle of stuff and people were going pretty crazy. Went today and they had moved the leftover items to the endcap and marked them 50% off. WTH? I even scanned an item I bought for 75% off and it was now 50% off. The only stuff that was still 75% off was the Sami Hayek sets. I guess timing is everything. Found some more nice rugs for 75% off including a 5x7 area rug for about $30 and a washable 3x5 nonslip area rug for $5 -

College 08 and marked down home goods are flying off the shelves here too at 75% off, but some stores still have a ton left. I got: ###060270031 Full/Queen reversible coverlet set olive/light green $17.48 (75% off) ###060100931 Full/Queen comforter, green with flower pattern $7.48 (75% off) ###060100933 Standard sham, green with flower pattern $2.48 (75% off) ###062230558 Twin comforter, ivory with black and gold $4.98 (75% off) ###062230559 Full/Queen comforter, ivory with black and gold $7.48 (75% off) ###066040362 4x6 Area rug, beige washable $4.98 (75% off) ###066043949 Runner, beige washable $7.48 (75% off) The quilted sateen coverlets are an especially good deal because they are reversible and come with two shams. I have seen similar coverlets for $100+ at certain high-end home stores. I saw a Thomas O'Brien chocolate brown woven blanket for $9.98 (75% off) that was really tempting until I saw it was dry clean only - WTH? Am I crazy, I got the twin comforter for the dog and may go back and get more...I mean, $5 for an attractive, washable, comfy dog blanket? You can't beat that! -
