  1. Posting my finds, sorry if they're all repeats: ### Our Generation shoe set $5.12 ### Mighty World archeologist figurines/playset $4.98 ### Playmobile "crocodile hunter"-style figurines/playset $5.12 ### Barbie glam dining room $3.98 ### Hello Kitty science museum mini playset $3.08 ### Bug Vacuum $3.74 ### Elmo plush hand puppet $4.98 Only one store had "consolidated", so it is worth it to hunt in the aisles. Also, both customers and staff have been really nice at the stores I went to! Way to go Target, I was starting to get disillusioned there...
  2. I'm in the DFW area also, 75% off and not a huge crowd. Markdown crew was still working at 11am when I went. Lots of great finds, got the doll shoes and some of the other things mentioned for Toys for Tots. I agree with previous posters, better stuff and a more fun shopping experience than this past January.
  3. I think it is a pretty good deal, they normally sell it for around $100 or so, but I have seen it at Costco for around $70 (a couple months back).
  4. I agree, I thought the Duracells from a while ago finally got salvaged and were coming up not on file/$0.00 for anyone that found stragglers. I saw the Energizers on an endcap when they were marked 50% (a couple weeks ago), but they disappeared quickly, and I have not seen any at 75%. Guess it's worth a hunt!
  5. Had a disappointment today... about two weeks ago I bought a set of Waverly Home sheets for 75% off. Today I went to wash them and discovered that there were no pillowcases in the set (as I was stuffing the sheets into the washer). Not sure if they got left out at the factory, or if someone pilfered them. Anyway, I spoke to customer service, explained what had happened, and they did a computer search for me. As I suspected, there were none left in inventory in any local store, and they were also OOS online. Bummer. To Target's credit, they told me it would be no problem to return them, even after washing. I decided that they were so cheap anyway that I will just try to find some similar pillowcases. You can bet I will be checking my purchases more promptly in the future!
  6. Grocery and household markdowns were 50% off at my local store today (even though the signs still said 15%). They just redid the grocery section though, so they might be trying to move all the discontinued stuff out quickly. I bought some ziplocks, some parchment paper, and some food products (stuff I had coupons for, of course!). There were some strange random items, like a big bottle of sherry. I *think* some of the pet stuff also went 50%, it was mostly canned cat & dog food. Saw some baby clearance at 30%, only a couple larger items (a travel system was one of them).
  7. I stopped by ON at a little after 7 (early opening today). An employee was handing out coupons for $5 off $25 for today only before 11am. The store was not crowded and there was a decent selection of tanks. Each size was on it's own table sorted by color, not too chaotic yet. There were a lot of solids and some patterns (horizontal stripes or splotchy brights were the only ones I saw). The beaded tanks were NOT part of the sale. I bought five solid tanks, and was able to get all of the colors I wanted in my size. They were enforcing a five item limit, but I think it was "loosely" enforced (meaning, you could get back in line and buy five more). Also the quality and fit of the tanks varied, even within one color. You could tell they were manufactured at different times, in different places (some were India, some were China, etc). I ended up just digging for the ones with a specific label to make sure I got the nice-fitting soft ones (the ones I liked were made in India with a bubbly-looking font on the label). Wait time at the register was minimal, and only hampered by people trying to pick the five tanks they wanted at the last minute. I received a door-hanger coupon at checkout that was for a school uniform sale in July (50% off fourth item when you buy four, big whoop). Edited to add, it was still extra 30% off clearance, so this morning would be a good day to buy tanks + clearance items and use the $5 off $25 coupon I mentioned earlier.
  8. Mine has had that going on since the last extra 50% off clearance ended. Unfortunately, they barely have any clearance left anymore. Hope your luck is better. My clearance notes (yes, I keep track of such things) lead me to believe the next big round of ON clearance with extra 50% off will be at the end of July (summer stuff, no doubt).
  9. It probably depends on your store, I would call and ask. My store usually opens early at 7am and there are people already lined up by then.
  10. My Target doesn't seem to care about the coupons too much. Coupons often beep through even if you aren't buying the specified product. If the register tells the cashier the specified product wasn't found, they usually just glance at the coupon and hit enter to force it to go through. I figure either A) Target doesn't care because they will get reimbursed anyway; Target is not adequately training employees in coupons; and/or C) Employee turnover is so high that newbies have not yet been scolded for taking coupons they shouldn't. No matter what, both the manufacturer and Target are still making boatloads of money off the customer (via markups, impulse buys, brand loyalty, etc.)
  11. If it's the same as last year, it is the women's cotton ribbed tanks (sometimes referred to as a "wife-beater" style). This might be them: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?searchCID=26519&vid=1&pid=730950&scid=730950002 Anyway, they are basic long layering tanks in various colors, and some have embellishments like beading at the neck.
  12. On another forum someone posted that it is NEXT Saturday, 6/12, and that they called and their store confirmed it. So far there is nothing on the ON facebook page. Also, for the flip flop one day wonder, I saw ads on TV several days before. So it is probably next Saturday. But I would be sad to miss out on this one, I LOVE their tanks and live in them in the summer.
  13. Got some great deals and was able to use the $5 off $25 coupon from the fliers (picked up last week at ON register). Got Women's capri PJ's ($4 after 50%/coupon), shorts ($6), tanks ($1.50), hoodies ($4), and Men's jeans ($6). This is the first time in a while the extra 50% applied to anything other than women's clothing. There were lots of ladies buying stuff for their kids for camp. I swear a lot of the stuff on clearance was really similar to the current stuff (it was probably more "spring"/"early summer" than "middle of summer" stuff). Went to three stores: one was meticulously organized by size and color; the other two were real "treasure hunts", but yielded better finds! BTW, this sale is still going on today (5/29).
  14. Dollar Spot was 75% of purple dot at my local Target yesterday (Saturday 5/22, signage reflected the 75%). Managed to score a bunch of items I didn't need, but for 25 cents, what the heck. I saw quite a bit of gardening items (hose sprayers, twine, seed packets, seed pots, plastic tools, gloves); some pet items (tiny dog t-shirts, warning:dog signs); kiddie favor items (jewelry, lipgloss, plastic bugs, "ant farms", hair ties, tongue tattoos); and the usual stuff they seem to have every season (reusable bags, notepads, sticky notes, stickers, window clings). They also had Venus Embrace razors on clearance for $3.48 (single refillable razor with no additional refill blades). I had one Mfr coupon for $2 off, and a Target Q to get a free $5 giftcard with purchase of two razors or refills (both Q's from the Sunday inserts), so they ended up being free except for tax. If I had one more Mfr Q I would have made $2 off the deal, since you can stack Mfr and Target coupons, but for some reason I have not been getting as many coupon inserts lately.
  15. I checked out the flip-flops today and the store I went to was already out of (or never had much stock of) the cute colors, like metallics. They had a ton of white flip flops - yeah, I don't think so, they will be dirty in five seconds. So much for buying early and getting a price adjustment.
  16. Thanks for the info. LOL on the ashamed part, that sounds like my DH. He is often ashamed by my bargain hunting, but I have slowly showed him the light!
  17. The deal we are talking about is not a coupon, it is a special promotion called a "One Day Wonder", where they have one item at a low price for one day only (Saturday). This Saturday it is flip flops for $1. You can get coupons at Old Navy's Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/oldnavy). Just click on the Barker's Bones tab and "hunt" for a coupon. This week it is $15 off a $75 purchase. You usually can't get an adjustment for it though, although you can return and rebuy.
  18. Did they let you repurchase on the spot, or did you have to wait for them to put it back and then hunt it down again?
  19. Flip-flops for $1 this Saturday was being promoted at my two local stores (regular price is $3.50 each or 2 for $5). Both of the ON's nearest me had signs on the doors saying they will be opening at 7am on Saturday. This was really popular last year and people were lined up before opening. Not sure if there is a limit, they usually impose a five-item limit, which is sometimes enforced depending on the store/demand (sometimes you can break purchases up into groups of five). Worth noting, my store had a sales flier by the register that had a $5 off $25 coupon that starts Friday (it may have been an insert in last Sunday's paper). Also, one of my closest stores was doing the extra 50% off women's clearance clothing. I managed to score some light jackets, a business suit, and some jammies for cheap. The other store near my house had a ton of clearance but no extra-off promotion, so YMMV.
  20. TY for the excellent description - the part about the stars in the corner and the locations of the battery centers really helped a lot! I was finally able to score some AAA's and some peelies, making them $1.48 each for 20. Unfortunately, I didn't find any AA's, after checking four stores. If anyone in the DFW area is looking for AAA's there are still some at West Plano and Frisco (as of yesterday, anyway) :) Also TY to the poster who mentioned electronics accessories going 75%. I was able to pick up an iPod armband I have been stalking. It looks like a ton of stuff is going on clearance in electronics and furniture, so I will be watching both closely for the next few weeks!
  21. Last time I did a return w/o receipt, they told me you could return a total of $70 worth of items per year, and you need to show a valid ID in order to do this. BUT... if you have already reached your maximum (which you could easily do with one or two items), you can either: A) have someone else use their ID for you (such as your spouse); or use a second ID with a different number, such as your passport. A Target employee suggested this to me, and told me it was OK to use an expired passport. Worked for me after I instantly maxed out by returning one comforter set that was $69.99. They also told me you can do an exchange for items in the same department, so I could have exchanged the comforter for a different one of the same value (or paid the difference). YMMV, this was several months ago so it may have changed yet again.
  22. Saw 75% off toys, including Transformers, Avatar, Batman. There is still some Garage Maid stuff left for 75% off. I had been stalking these, but after adding up all the bits and pieces necessary, it still seemed pricey at 75%. Still some 75% off fireplace stuff, but unfortunately the tabletop heaters are stuck at 30% (yes, I scanned). They already have the newly packaged tabletop heaters out in the garden furniture section, so not sure what's up with that. I am expecting the old ones to be salvaged soon Lots of home organization stuff seems to be clearancing, including closet organizers, baskets, hampers, and wire shelving.
  23. Hmmm, today another employee told me it goes through Sunday, so who knows. The employees at Dillard's, while very nice, don't seem to be very well informed! Previous poster, I hope your snowstorm clears so you can score some bargains.
  24. An employee I talked to today said the extra 40% off goes through Saturday (2/27/10). I think that is in keeping with the last sale, so I tend to believe her.
  25. Not as exciting as some of the other stuff you guys are posting, but natural beauty & bath clearance was 75% (Alba, Weleda, Burt's Bees, etc). Some was on endcaps, some was still in the beauty aisle. Also saw lots of men's undies 5-packs 75% off (Hanes, Target brand) but in mostly XXL, in the men's section.
