  1. Sorry, I did not see that desk, just lots and lots of tables that looked like IKEA tables (dark brown particle board with square legs in a flat box/you assemble). I actually never saw that desk (but I was not really looking...) The college decor seemed to be randomly marked down - some was 75%, while some was only 30%.
  2. ### Emerson write-on dorm refrigerators 50% off ### Some dorm furniture and accessories 75% off (coffee tables, bed risers, etc) ### Home brand "Brights" sheet sets 75% off ### Pool accessories 75% off ### Fitness items 75% off (water bottles, fitness DVD kits, bands, weights, gloves, bags etc)
  3. Is the item number in the brochure the DCPI number? It would be a seven-digit number, like a social security format, such as 087-06-0877. If so, I have asked at the customer service desk and they have made me a printout of availability of the closest several stores (it might have been six stores?). This is unreliable though, because Target's store inventory is not updated in real time. It will tell you how many items it thinks they have, but they could be in someone's cart, bought the day before, in the back room, etc. I successfully used this method once: I had previously bought a three-drawer storage unit for 75% off and wanted another. It wasn't listed on the website, but it had the DCPI number on the clearance sticker. I went to Customer Service and they made me a printout. I went to the store that said they had two units available, and was able to find the very last one after hunting all the endcaps. So it CAN work, but you can also waste a lot of time and gas. It is VERY unlikely they would be willing to look for you via phone and hold it for you. Good luck!
  4. My guess would be they do need to scan each item to trigger the markdown, but it's not a very big job (compared to the big toy markdown, for example), and the markdown team starts very early before opening. So I would tend to think it would be done by the time you got there. I think the only time they don't need to scan to markdown is with holiday items and Dollar Spot (feel free to jump in if I'm wrong!)
  5. This was a great tip! I was able to get three for gifts (you know, "joke" gifts that end up being mucho appreciated!). They had all sorts of colors including solids (blue, purple, green, pink) and patterns (cammo, skulls, monkeys, peace signs, tie-dye, clouds). I think these were clearanced because they changed the packaging, the new/full price ones in the As Seen On TV section come with a free flashlight. Anyway, the coupon scanned through with no problem, even though it says it's for the "Varsity" style only (which Target does not seem to carry). Thanks GinaInIL!
  6. I saw these too, two different formulas. One was an orange bag and one was an off-white bag. There were quite a few pet items on clearance on an endcap including doggie t-shirts and tank tops for 75% off.
  7. Domestics and college stuff are still 30-50% here. Some stores have moved the college bedding into consolidated aisles or endcaps, so you have to kind of hunt around. Not as much as last year, and a lot of what's left is hot pink. I'm guessing it might go 75% next week (Thurs?), if last year is an indicator.
  8. Backpacks were 75% off today. Signs said 50% but stickers were for 75%. Other school supplies were 50%. Unfortunately, no new markdowns in Garden/Patio here. Also saw 75% off Yankee Candle votives, jar candles, reed diffusers and plug ins. The scents I saw were Beach Party, Vanilla Icing, Fresh Bamboo, and Black Cherry.
  9. Our school started 8/23 and BTS was marked down to 30% that week (backpacks 50%). I have in my notes from last year that BTS went to 75% around 9/15. Hang in there, they have to make room for the Halloween and Christmas stuff.
  10. Meant to add, stuff is going quick at Lowe's - there is easily half what I saw last week and they were consolidating. Home Depot is down to just a few leftover items, so I doubt they'll have anything much left for 75% off. Don't forget to try haggling, especially if you plan on buying a lot, they are eager to get rid of this stuff to move in big ticket Halloween and Christmas items. Like that ginormous inflatable Frankenstein I saw today that was as big as King Kong.
  11. TY for this - it has been 25% forever so I stopped checking. Got an item I have been stalking. FYI, here it's 50% off patio furniture, cushions, hammocks and stands, umbrellas and stands, and some accessories like candles; it's still full price for furniture covers, firebowls, swings, benches, and stuff they stock year-round.
  12. My brain just started working - I actually saw two different mini stair steppers, one was an Embark brand (Target house brand?) and it was 50% off at $3X.XX, the other was a different brand with a red box and it was only 30% off at $5X.XX. They looked very similar, small portable hydraulic steps. I think the Embark one had stretchy arm band thingees too. I seriously can't figure out their markdown logic anymore. They will mark down a section and some items will go straight to 50% or even 75%, and some will linger at 30% (or even the dreaded 15%) forever. And then it varies from store to store. Some items will be 50% off at one store and full price at another identically-sized store that's two miles away.
  13. Just a heads up for gottadealers in the DFW area, the Frisco store had several Intex portable pools 75% off. They are on an endcap in Sporting Goods. There was a small, medium, and large one late this afternoon. I did not see any slides or waterparks or other fun things people have been talking about. Pool chemicals and accessories were still only 50%.
  14. I saw the stair-stepper you are describing today and it was $36.XX (50%). I think sporting goods got marked down today as there were whole endcaps of bargains I have not seen before.
  15. Maybe stolen from the laundry room? I'm sure your boy is very studious and would never participate in a toga party... Anyway, college domestics were 30% off here including XL twin sheet sets. Some of them have been moved to consolidated clearance aisles.
  16. I saw one grill that was 50% off today. It was a Brinkman, silver and black (did not get the DCPI's). There was also a red Brinkman that was only 30% off. Planters were only 30% and some were not marked down at all (the really nice ones of course). A lot of garden stuff is 30% now. Seasonal air fresheners (Glade, Air Wick, Febreze spring/summer) and discontinued natural household cleaners (Method, 7th Gen, etc) were 50%.
  17. Labor day weekend is usually a great time for bargains. My notes show that I got swim stuff 75% off last year, including pool stuff (nets, supplies) and sporting goods (goggles, swim cap, also exercise stuff). I think a lot of people are too busy having end-of-summer fun (or worn out from BTS shopping) to swoop on bargains. But again, you have to be vigilant. If there is something you are stalking, start checking regularly or you might miss out.
  18. It's pretty rare to score a grill at 75% off at Target. You might get lucky, but you will have to be vigilant. Usually it happens because they find some in the back when they are trying to stock Christmas items and they need to get rid of them ASAP. Or you might luck out and find one near the beginning to middle of September when they get rid of most of the remaining garden and patio stuff. I know some BBQ implements are 50% off right now but grills are the last to get marked down. On the rare occasions when I have seen grills marked to 75% they have been portable/tailgater size grills. Good luck.
  19. Yellow dot Dollar Spot did not include very many items at the store I went to - I remember seeing notepads and toddler dress-up items (tutus, jewelry, gloves etc). Most of what I wanted ended up being brown dot. Yellow dot was small two endcaps only.
  20. Pool supplies are 50% off here (chemicals, nets, etc). Also noticed the candles section and some scrapbooking/stickers are starting to get clearanced, they are at 30% now. Yep, they are gearing up for the holiday resets.
  21. I think she's referring to the question about whether to call customer service to see if an item is in stock before driving to the store. It's great that her store is willing to do that, especially if people are driving a long way. Unfortunately, not all stores are so accomodating, and they are not required to do so. If anyone sees Electronics go to 75%, please post. There are some games I am stalking. I checked on Monday and they were still 50%.
  22. I would not recommend doing that unless you know the staff there and they are of the nice and helpful variety. Calling in is a good way to alert the staff to a fantastic bargain that they could score for themselves, especially in these tough times. Of course if you are definitely not going to drive out there unless they confirm that it is available, then you have nothing to lose.
  23. At my closest store yesterday they had obviously found some BTS stuff from last year, there were a handful of backpacks and spiral-bound notebooks marked 75% off on an endcap. Rechecked the toys and the whole department was decimated: empty aisles, stuff piled up by the scanners (from people checking prices and abandoning full-priced items), and all I saw left were Chixos, Moonsand, and water toys.
  24. Went to my closest ON today and the sale camis were basically sold out, only five colors in XS or XXL. Luckily I got a bunch of the ones I prefer (same fabric but round neck/wider straps) during the last extra 50% off clearance sale. Also clearance did not have any additional % off. Left with nothing.
  25. I know I found kitchen stuff in September last year. They did a reset of small appliances and some other stuff too. I knocked off a bunch of Xmas presents that way, I'm hoping for (but not counting on) the same this year. September is usually a big month because of the Back to School clearance and I think another Domestics clearance so I am usually pretty broke when it's all done.
