I think October is a little too early, even for me. I normally start around Nov. 1st but pretty much b/c I enjoy Halloween and want to get through that before we move on to anything else. Once we start decorating for Thanksgiving, I pull out the Christmas music. I should probably start finding the CDs.... But hey, if you're enjoying it, go for it! Puts you in the Christmas spirit, right? :)

Am I the only one who didn't buy cards at clearance time?
-
Anybody have their's yet? I've been seeing them in the stores lately and have been debating on whether to buy them now or not. Years ago, I was really into making my own and thought about making them again this year...since the kids are both in school, I actually have time to do so. When do you mail your cards out? I try to send them out during the first part of December.

Heading there today...there's coupons in the paper from this past weekend for the candy, too.

That's what I think! And with how yucky their toothbrushes get if I don't watch them...talk about gross! To me, that's what hands are for...squeeze your own toothpast!
-
So far, we don't have anything that I'm going to say no to. We talk about their lists as we make them, and they're both pretty good about picking good things. Although...DS4 would like EVERYTHING he sees.... Although, both kids REALLY want that toothpaste thing that you stick to the mirror. :) DD6 says, "It gets the last bit of toothpaste out!"

DS4 LOVES his Leapster. Some of the games seem to be a bit much for him, but he's starting to learn to recognize the letters and that they make words. I have no experience with vsmiles, but I do know that even my 6 year old loves her brother's leapster.

I just got mine last week and it wasn't in plastic. We LOVE getting this magazine and would definitely subscribe if we had to...HOWEVER, this last issue was rather dissappointing. Not many "good" recipes. I'd rather have a hard copy of the magazine than reading it online. We have years worth of magazines that have been used repeatedly.

Yankee Candle Coupon Frustration
tntsmomie replied to mmouse1's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Our store has always excluded sale items. That's when we use it on other things that don't typically go on sale, like their Vera Bradley items. -
Problems with yankee candle coupons
tntsmomie replied to rlm626's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
For our store, it depends on the coupon (b/c some of the coupons actually state "no valid on sale items"). That's when I buy the candles on sale, and use the coupon for other merchandise. -
Yep...I know our Lowes does it year-round. 10% everyday, and I think sometimes it's higher depending on what's going on, but I'm not 100% sure of that. But we love it. Not many stores in this area give a discount for military b/c our area is SO saturated with military.

Woo! This one's closer than the other theater deal that was posted! And they posted a list of movies that are playing, most of which are ones my kids would LOVE to go see. THANK YOU!
-
Thanks for the post! There's a participating theater about 10 mins from our house. And it'll give the kids and I something to do. Are parents allowed to go in with them??

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009
tntsmomie replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I snagged a pair of leather boots I'd been eyeing when they first came out. Orig. Price 34.99 Clearance 8.xx (I can't remember exactly...8.32 maybe) I couldn't justify spending $40 on "motorcycle" boots despite always wanting a pair. I'm SO glad we walked over there! They had lots of these in both brown and black. And some moccasin-type boots with fringe...all on clearance. -
We had the Little Tikes kitchen - the one with the grill on one side and kitchen on the other...and it last us through 2 kids and 3 years before we had to sell it due to space restrictions. My youngest climbed through the window numerous times, and my daycare kids sure gave it a big "beating" but it was in fantastic shape. Great choice for a plastic kitchen. :)

Free Shipping at americangirl.com - no minimum

Thank you! Great deal for our Easter golden-egg trade-in gift. :) -
We have one of the full stores that's INCREDIBLE near us. We love going and looking around. We've never been able to use the coupons on sale merchandise. In fact, we have to shop specifically for things not on sale - which is why we always end up using ours on Vera Bradley items. Sometimes the sale prices are better than what you'd spend with the coupon.

Okay...it was $5 certificate per $150 spent. Called the 800# again today, the woman I spoke with said she hadn't heard that I wasn't entitled to them, and that I should be b/c I earned them. She called TRU Corporate Guest Relations and patched me through. The woman I spoke with there said that although they are not sending out certificates for the past promotion, they ARE able to send gift cards w/out expiration dates to me b/c they failed to catch the glitch that didn't send them in the first place. I don't get the "member nights" coupons, either. But the whole thing goes to show that it's all about who answers the phone. That first woman had no clue and was very firm in the fact that TRU would NOT send anything out and that I was, essentially, out of luck. Glad I called back.
-
Did that yesterday. :) Everything was correct. What they're telling me is that they failed to send them out when they should have. But b/c it's past the Christmas promotion's dates, I'm SOL. And I don't agree with that. B/c THEY failed to send them, I don't get the rewards certificates. Should I have called sooner? Probably. But our mail tends to be late at times, and I don't feel like it's my responsibility to ensure that companies are doing their job by calling them all the time. It had slipped my mind until yesterday...
-
They run different promos at different times. This one, I think ended on Jan 1st (or sometime close???). There's a current one running until April.

When the holiday shopping season began, I signed up for TRUs Rewards R Us program. We shopped a ton and earned 2 or 3 of their rewards certificates. I realized today this we never received them in the mail. So I called their customer service line, only to be told that b/c I didn't call before the promotion was over, they cannot reissue the certificates. I followed their rules, I shopped, used my rewards card and entered the other reciepts into the system if I didn't have my card with me at the time. B/c they failed to send the certificates like they should have, and I didn't know to call before the promotion was over, I don't get them. Does this seem wrong to anyone else?? Granted, we're only talking about $10-$15 here, but still. I feel like they had the promotion and should honor the terms of giving them to the customers that earned them. Has anyone else not received any?

Backpack for High schooler
tntsmomie replied to brandy_drake's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I STILL have mine from High School. It's an LL Bean. I used it all 4 years and some in college and now it's one we use if we need a back pack. Worth the money....definitely. -
Booster seat for DD4 for sitting at adult table
tntsmomie replied to arelf27's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I just gave ours away, so I can't remember the brand, but it was pretty neat and well-used for us. This one had straps to secure it to the chair, and straps to keep the kiddo in the seat. I'm pretty sure BRU has them, or even Wal-Mart/Target in a few different styles. My kids prefer their knees. :) -
Is there a mistake in price at Dell?
tntsmomie replied to thanasphere's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Ooh. I bought a Studio Hybrid last year and LOVE it. Very small and lots of power to run what I need. Not a huge fan of Dell's Support Team or Customer Service, but this is a great computer. -
Geo Trax High-Flyin Airport. Never worked. Waiting on a replacement remote. Poor little guy....this was his Santa gift...the one thing he was asking for...and it didn't work!
