  1. Thank you! Got some early holiday shopping done and DD will be thrilled when she opens them!
  2. TRU carries them, too. At least I've seen them in our store... :)
  3. She's cute, too! We grabbed one from TRU yesterday for DD and for $3, you can't beat it!
  4. We got lucky today! I'm so excited! Found quite a few king sheet sets orig $39.99 marked down to $9.98. I grabbed 2, but am thinking about going to get another in a different color. Also had comforter sets on clearance (49.xx), and a throw quilt (29.xx) to match. I've been wanting to redo my room for a long time, and with the stuff we found on clearance, we're able to do it for less than $100! Saw lots of home goods on clearance. Really nice soft blankets, pillows, curtain panels....all were 50-75% off. Didn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to what was marked at 50% and what was 75%.
  5. DH uses the personal K-cup thing when we run out of K-cups. He's never complains -- BUT, he uses good coffee, so that may make a difference.
  6. AWESOME! This is a better deal than yesterday's...and you're not signing up for the recurring shipments. I'm glad we didnt' order from the Amazon deal yesterday...AND I was able to get a box of tea for myself. (DH uses the Keurig for coffee, I use it for the hot water for my tea. Now I can make tea with it!) THANK YOU!
  7. Showing up for me at $21. Still not a bad deal for 50 k-cups. oooooh. You have to sign up for the subscriber service to get the price that low. I get it. Awesome deal! Now we don't have to take a special trip to go grab them. Too bad we can't rotate them...you'd have to sign up for different subscriptions, but not a bad idea. Thank you!!
  8. VERY cute! I LOVE the Santa picture --- that's one HUGE chair! :) And the Rudolph cookies are absolutely adorable!! Very creative.
  9. In our house, Santa only brings ONE present for the kiddos. And that's the one that's unwrapped and waiting for them when they come down Christmas morning. Everything else is from DH & I, to each other, and from all of our extended family members. They know their Christmas Eve jammies are from me...it's something I started when DD6 was little. I just think it's nice that I have certain traditions with them. I always pick out special gifts that are just from me...DH does the same.
  10. I think it was Christmas Story...but if I'm remembering correctly, it was squashed out in the first round.
  11. This is SUCH a difficult choice for me. We absolutely love the Santa Clause movies. But, Christmas Vacation is a classic.... I think I'm going to have to go with The Santa Clause b/c we watch it more.... Oh my goodness! This is a tough choice!
  12. Great ideas so far! Thanks everyone! We're doing a Mexican feast on Christmas Day. Used to be traditional for our Christmas Eve when I was growing up...but I changed it this year. I didn't want to do the big turkey, etc on Christmas this year. I like the idea ameyers gave about appetizers for dinner. And berry1014's idea about lasagna. DH has been asking for some. We may just do that. But keep the ideas coming! No decisions have been made yet.
  13. We orginally planned on eating out for Christmas Eve -- a late lunch/early dinner. Plans changed yesterday when I found out the restuarant we planned to go to closes at 2...just too early for dinner. Now, we're scrambling trying to figure out what's for dinner Christmas Eve. What does you family do??
  14. Mine is just the opposite. Typically, I'm the one who has to pick things out. He never second-guesses what I buy...but I always do. I actually love the picture frame idea! I would be thrilled to receive one. We gave digital frames last year, and preloaded memory sticks with TONS of photos. They were lots of fun. I also like the ideas you came up with to give with the frames -- and that they're personal to each individual. You're doing a couple/family gift, AND a small individual gift. I'd stick with the frames and maybe let DH pick out a small thing to go with them if he really wants a hand in it, or feels that he knows better?
  15. We got DS4 a Leapster 2 when he was 3. He had a rough time with it -- but that could be related to the game DH got him (the Cars game -- has letters and spelling in it...which for him was tough. He's just not able to play it, but has a tough time still, when playing on his own) There may be games geared towards the younger kids...we never looked. What about Geotrax?? We also gave DS4 those when he was 3 and they have become SUCH a big hit in our house.
  16. We bake our cookies the day before Christmas Eve. It'll be so much fun this year b/c both kids are able to help. DS4 just picked out a recipe he wants to make, and DD6 said Santa requested by snowball cookies, so we'll be making those. (Santa wrote letters to the kids last month to ensure they were on the right track with their behavior) Then on Christmas Eve we always open one present. The kids this year will open a few b/c I wrapped their Christmas jammies. We read Christmas books, watch a Christmas movie, set out the cookies/milk/carrots and get the kids snug in bed, then DH and I get the Santa gifts set out and watch Christmas Story.
  17. Not too terribly much...since it's just the 4 of us. We do want to do a late lunch/early dinner on Christmas Eve at a local restaurant...just trying to find out hours for a few different places so we can decide.
  18. Miracle on 34th Street vs The Santa Clause Christmas Vacation vs It's a Wonderful Life
  19. Apparently the management teams in my area stink. There's not a Wal-Mart within 20 miles of me that's clean and pleasant to shop in. And just within 5-miles of me, there's 3. I DO think a lot depends on the customers who shop there. Some customers don't take pride in the stores they shop in, or care about the employees of the stores. I'd just rather spend money at a store that's not full of rude people, screaming children and messes on every aisle. I'm sure there are pleasant Wal-Marts. Just not here...and that's completely fine with me.
  20. No charging here, either. But, I know we got too much. I always try to take care of the kids lists, not realizing how spoiled they also are by my family and my in-laws. We have a present problem right now...no place to put any more! And there's still about 4 more boxes arriving within the next week.
  21. Exactly what I was going to say. I hated how junky our Wal-Marts are, and they had very poor customer service. So I stopped shopping there. Other places can have my money...places that know how to clean their stores and help me with a smile when I need it.
  22. Oooh...that's COOL! But then I'd have to buy him a garage to store it all in.

  24. I did some fun things this year -- fun for DH, anyway. He got an alienware keyboard for his computer. He does flight simulator games and this one lights up, so when he's playing in the dark, he can still see the keyboard. Plus it's cool and geeky. Then we did little things like nice new running socks (he'll never buy them for himself), and huge box of K-cups for his Keurig, a Starbucks giftcard, a few shirts for his baseball/football teams, a hat (football team). DD6 made him a scrapbook -- it turned out SO cute! Does your DH have a hobby? Anything that he has that he might want a nice upgrade for (a tool set, etc that's maybe gotten yuck)? Maybe one of those charging stations? Giftcards to places his likes to go to -- for lunch or coffee...something that would come in handy if he's heading to work or needing lunch one day.
