Went to our Kohl's today and everything was so picked over! I did find a cute sweater for DD, but the RACKS AND RACKS of women's clearance was so sparse that I gave up. I may go back later to check home-goods....we need some kitchen towels.... They're having night owls/early bird sales right tonight and tomorrow.

I found the minis at TRU. I LOVE the Sarge and McQueen...too cute!

Anyone else disappointed in Thomas the Train Products?
tntsmomie replied to maaj's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I don't think I've ever seen wooden Thomas trains at our Michael's, but you can sure bet I'm going to look next time I'm there! We have both types, and I get so frustrated with the take-alongs. The tracks are so difficult for the kids to put together! My DD (almost 5 and very good at putting things together) even has a hard time snapping them into place. -
We went to bed around 1130-12, woke up at 7 wondering why the house was so quiet! DD was awake, but sitting in bed with a on her face. DS was kind of groggy, but ready to see if Santa brought his big tractor toy. I'm sure if I give it few years, they'll be getting up earlier! I remember negotiating alarm times with my mom & brothers when I was a kid...I think we did 5am or something one year!

WOO! $9??? That's my kind of deal! -
We have a big bag of batteries, just waiting for presents to be opened. I forgot to write down how many of what type we needed, so I grabbed AA, AAA, C & D. Let's hope none are 9V!

You guys get a gold star in my book! You and DH for raising such a considerate young man, and your DS for being so kind and thoughtful! I hope your family has a wonderful holiday!

I got my mom a beautiful jewelery box from Kohl's. $85 originally, on sale for $34. Not sure if that's still the price, but it's gorgeous! (so nice that I bought one for myself from a gift card I got from my MIL) :) You could always tuck the gift cards in that. I like the plant idea above, too!

Weather Forcasts in your area.......any White Christmas'??
tntsmomie replied to Scanner420's topic in 2007
No snow here, either. Today was 66!! But supposed to drop down to 40s/50s for Xmas. -
Santa doesn't wrap in our house, either. Gifts from us or relatives are wrapped, but Santa's presents are unwrapped and sitting in groups (by child) in separate areas of the living room. (leaves lots of room for their presents they unwrap )

Anywhere else to buy Walmart gift cards?
tntsmomie replied to floridasun5's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Most of our grocery stores have tons of gift cards, too. Even our 7-11s do, I think.... -
Well, apparently his boss can afford to spend that much on a single gift (which is nice!). But I'm totally with you on the dilema it's created, especially if it's not a gift you planned on buying to begin with. With all the clearance sales happening everywhere, I think it's very possible to put together something that may seem expensive but not really have cost as much as the recipient would think. Or even if you don't spend as much - but put a lot of thought into it?? Let us know what you find!

Ran out this morning to JCPenny at the mall. Wasn't so bad!!

The one near me didn't have any blankets. With the sale price and the 15% discount, even with shipping my total was less than the original cost of just one of those blankets.

You know, our tree is doing the same thing! I've been battling with Sylvania (the company who made it) about it for several weeks now. When we first bought the original tree this year, the bottom half blinked crazy like there was a short in the wire. Yes, there were random twinkling lights, but this really was as though there were something wrong. Returned the tree, got another - same kind, it did the same thing in the same section. They sent us a replacement for that section and it's been fine.....until a few nights ago. Now it's a different section with the same problem. It's been driving me CRAZY...but reading your post made me smile and realize it's not worth getting so upset about. (but I will be calling them again b/c it's a brand new $$ tree) Thank you for your post!

I second the post above. I've NEVER had any issues returning things to Target. Especially when there has been an issue of something not working properly. You might even give them a call & explain the situation prior to going just to be sure. There really shouldn't be a problem.

You beat me to posting this! :) I just called their customer service line. Since the order is "in processing" they can't refund the difference until AFTER it ships (their policy). Sounds good to me...$4 cheaper than I paid last night!

Perfect! Grabbed two - Aerial and McQueen. Thanks for posting this! My inbox has been FULL of disneystore emails lately, and I've just been deleting them....but we've been wanting to get the kids fleece blankets for their bed. THANK YOU!

I just have to tell everyone about my wonderful experience at The Disney Store today! My FIL sent my kids PJ Pals...both in the wrong sizes. Even though we didn't have a gift receipt, we didn't get a hassle. Just lots of good old-fashioned customer service! The clerk even gave us a 15% coupon for a purchase (in Jan) - and we didn't even spend any money!! :) Kudos to The Disney Store. They definitely made our shopping trip easy today!

Reading some of these replies makes me feel pretty good about what we did for my DD's teacher and para....I was worried it wasn't good! We did gift bags for each, stocked with the same things. They have a bath fizzie and bath salts (both in relaxing scents), some nice chapstick (for cold recess times), some candies and homemade chocolate covered pretzel sticks, post-its, etc, plus a nice thank-you card.

I just did the obvious thing and went to Fisherprice.com Should've known better! They're not available there until 3/5/08!! I'll keep looking around. Sorry I misread your post about needing an online retailer!

My Kohl's had several of them a few days ago. You might also try calling around before you head out -- maybe they'll hold it for you?? Good Luck!!
