We could've done a movie exchange and take turns letting everyone use them. I'd imagine, for the price of the LD players, that there would still be enthusiasts out there somewhere, probably out of a bit of stubborness too. :)

remember those "dvd" players where the dvd was about the size of a full size record/vinyl? the name is escaping me at the moment. but i bought one of those on BF years and years ago. thinking it was a great deal. had a rebate too. well the rebate never showed. and the thing never caught on so i had a bugger of a time finding movies for it. ended up selling it at a swapmeet a few years ago after finally giving up hope.

general rule of thumb for all malls/retail centers is that the majority of stores will open at the same time as the mall, in this case 7am. However, generally stores like Disney, KB Toys, BuildABear, Aeropostale, RadioShack etc etc will open earlier as will your anchors. in other words your: toy stores, high end teenage fashion stores, electronics, cell phones, and big box anchor stores will be your early risers. i recommend giving the stores that you are most interested in a call tomorrow. hth

I don't know about all of their locations, but at Arrowhead Mall in Glendale, AZ they are opening at midnight. So is Abercrombie & Fitch (sorry if I misspell these) and I think 3 other businesses!

Thank you! Just an FYI - that Fisher Price "Brilliant Basics Table.." that they've listed at $14.99.. I can't speak for all stores, but that's not really a good sale price. That's what I paid for it in July at Target. Good though, this gives me some more store hours to add. :)

YAHOO!!!! So I went to the Disney store today after work, just to poke around a bit and to FINALLY pick up my ratatouille dvd/presale. They have their sales up. I asked the girl - is this the sale for BF? YES. The first few hours of BF they'll have an additional 20% off EVERYTHING. A good chunk of the store was 40% off, some was 25% off, some stuff was a rigid $9.99 or 2 for $15 (shirts). Sooooo many toys. So I pick up the DVD first, the girl looks at my receipt where i've a 15% off coupon attached. The coupon expired on 11/18 but she goes "you can use that today if you like, or tomorrow. I will honor it for you. Just make sure to ask for me or to say that I said it was ok". Apparently she was the manager. Well. I picked up infant pajamas, toddler sweat shirt, the fork & spoon sets, 2 stuffed animals, and the handy manny plush tool box all for less than $50. If I did my math correctly I saved 33.75 and whatever tax. Anyway. Yes. I'm in a very good mood. This means that I don't have to drive 2 hours outta the way on BF. I can go to the 2 stores that are close to home and call it a day.

Just from experience in working retail... Carry your cell phone with you. If that does happen you can call your bank while you are in line to have them push the transaction through (if the bank is open at that hour). Otherwise, write a check... OR You could get one of those Visa gift cards and load it up with cash. I would put about half of what you intend to spend on that card. Just make sure to keep track of it! hth

shoot. i forgot about them. i will find out this afternoon if i can. they might vary though because some of them are stand alones and some of them are anchors on the malls. i'm not sure if they do any special sales though. i don't recall them doing anything last year at least.

So I called a few more locations. The only stores that will be doing any of those early bird/BF specials are the newer ones that are connected to a TRU. This is because apparently the other BRU's are not only not opening at 5am, but they are not opening early AT ALL. Therefore, since they are having normal business hours (930 on) they will not be having any early bird sales (ie no $10 diapers etc etc). This doesn't effect me as my BRU had their grandopening this past weekend and is a combo tru/bru. However, I wanted to share for those that may be planning on waiting in line for the early bird items. Sorry folks.

Torrid, Hot Topic, and Hot Topic Rocks do not normally have bf sales online. But who knows, as the company grows so do their sale options. In the past (I worked for Hot Topic) they normally had 50% off all clearance, $10 off pants, and 20% off Hoodies on BF. I was with HT for 3 years (2 states). Torrid, being the same company normally has the same clearance sale, the same pants sale, but instead of 20% off hoodies I believe they do a discount on dresses. I THINK. To be honest, if you go to the stores or even call them up they might tell you what the sale for Friday is now. Normally they don't do early bird sales, in fact the BF sale will probably be Fri, Sat, and Sun HTH

capman, just make sure you get to BRU during the sale hours for the diapers. just go in with the receipt (leave the diapers at home obviously). if you go in after early bird hours they do not have to honor the price match good luck!

are we talking Bob's Variety? I didn't know they existed outside of AZ. They're opening at 8am here. Which is 2 hours early for them.

quite a few updates today folks! also added the ones that were posted here and pm'd to me. i haven't gotten any word back yet from Christiana Mall in DE yet or from Dillards. Anyone in the know on these two? I know Christiana opened at 3am last year. I'm not sure if they're repeating that, but being that they are in a tax free state, not too far from the nj & pa borders it'd be worth knowing. Plus it's really not too long of a drive from md either. just my 2 cents of course.

i must be weak. i was beyond myself trying to comfort DD and soothe her (she's 15mos now!) that I gave her one of her gifts early - it's a cushy teddy bear. on the plus side, she's so young i don't think it makes a difference. she's more interested in the wrapping paper and bows at this age!

I've already started my 'recon'. I'm in such an up&coming growing area that we're having new stores pop up all over the place. The employees probably think that I'm nuts because I've been in their stores multiple times since they've opened and have not bought a thing. I'm just trying to get familiar with the store layouts and also the staff attitude. The only one I need to do Recon on is CC because their store hasn't opened their doors yet-but if you look in the window (and i have because I'm that weird) everything is set up and ready to go. I'm going to be very disapointed if they combine their grand opening with black friday.

this isn't one that i've confirmed or actually even looked into yet. but if memory serves me right, VS usually opens at the same time as the mall. they don't open early like the toy and electronic stores tend too. remember.. going by memory here. your best bet is to call your vs. hth

does this go for TRU too? weird. i called 6 stores in different states just to cover my butt on this. will go edit the store hours thread - even though i do make it very clear that everyone should check with the store they plan on shopping at.

well... i don't know about OP, but i check ad scans, call the stores, email the stores, and get friendly with the store employees.

best: atv bike when i was 17 worst: one of my friends last year from back east sent me size 0 jeans and a shirt equally small. just 4 months after my DD was born. I didn't fit them, still don't fit them (not even close). It wasn't done in meanness, she hadn't seen me since pre-preggo, but at the time I was so hormonal that those pants really upset me. (i donated the whole outfit)
