  1. here is their current policy on the Best Buy Online ordering system, so one can discern that the interpretation problem stems from this element: Order Limitations/Limited Quantities Best Buy may, at its own discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household or per order. Best Buy also reserves the right to reject any order you place with us. These restrictions may include orders placed by the same Best Buy Web site account, the same credit card, and orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address. In the event we make a change to an order, we will attempt to notify you by contacting the e-mail and/or billing address provided at the time the order was made. Best Buy reserves the right to limit or prohibit sales to dealers.
  2. I did see the rules from last year, and the store that I went to made up their own rules. It has always been one item per customer and i do not see them changing that scenario(corporate). I made the mistake of not checking with them beforehand. that will not happen again!
  3. Exactly! they understand that experts are the key to return customers, not doe-eyed teens without a clue....
  4. Those of us that are long time campers are well aware of this. the problem is that it is their internal network and it is locked out to us at this time. I am trying to get it opened up for everyone by Black Friday.
  5. I know that sometimes pregnant women go out and brave the elements and help us men when possible, but why would anyone take a child out into the cold for many hours on Black Friday? At what age would you deem it admissible and would the choice of either indoor or outdoor environments influence your decision?
  6. So that (exemptions)almost will cover the $2,500.00 required for Premier Silver status! (Best Buy, of course)
  7. I was fairly close! Cold in Sarasota is in the 40's right?
  8. thanks! I have been looking for them at the right price for a week now.
  9. Everybody has the opportunity right now to balance their comments against the carefully kept records of Black Fridays past, and in comparison, I find it hard to believe the negativity I see on this board, as well as others. people are generally spoiled and suffer from product saturation. It is plain and simple. People expect prices to go down exponentially every year, and quality to go up to keep pace with it. At this rate, more retailers would be out of business than could offer the deals. I invite you to pick out one category and then debate it here. Take LCD TVs for example. Another person could take computers. Look at the specs and whether rebates were offered, and then match it up year by year till you get to this years ad. You just may come to the conclusion that people are in fact basically unrealistic in their expectations. As I have pointed out earlier, a news article polled people on what percentage of a discount they expected prices to be this year in order for them to come out, and they responded, "20 percent".
  10. Do you have any import concerns, duties, fees, etc?
  11. Very good news! The price for the generator is higher than a recent sale they had for it when it was $79!
  12. In small towns where ACE has built newer stores they do very well and their personal nature is winning back customers in droves. Walmart is a joke for supplies, so ACE does fill a niche.
  13. 1. "Target introduces its new "Thin Red Line" of defense strategy, instead of the costly cops, customers will be herded through the gates in an orderly, but bovine fashion." 2. "Old XBOX you are hoping to replace, $60, Broken down Dynex TV from 1999 that you couldn't trade for an LCD, $20, Personal country-boy heater with stone-age fridge with all the fix-in's....Priceless!! 3. "Stop laughing at me!!! I am serious! The supply truck did not make it, and we only have one laptop from the ad. The Manager says he will limit it to the first person who can make it to the stop sign and hang on for verification, thank you!!":D
  14. Where did you get the info for the ticketing system? I used to have it, but they seem to now hide the info better.
  15. My experience thus far is to talk to the Corporate admins on the best Buy Community website and they will handle your issue on an individual basis. One of the questions they will ask you is if you have talked to the store manager or not. It is now my belief that they prefer to handle this issue on local levels only if managers are challenged on this policy issue. Perhaps it is just too hard to do the right thing and enforce policy on the national level. I believe that this is why bigjimslade feels that local managers are given broad authority to change things on the fly. I am letting people know ahead of time, so they can talk to the manager before the event.
  16. You are very fortunate to have been able to price-match at such a critical time! I will bet that many consider it extremely rude to take up so much time during the rush, so it is better to get the regular sale items , then head to the service desk which is set up for price matching until the rush is over. The afternoon is the best time for the 2 day sale price matching, and the service desk is still the best place to go.
  17. I suggested that they provide WIFI outside of the store for the week of Black Friday. They are mildly interested. I stated that it would not be a very connected Christmas if customers were disconnected from purchases outside their stores, while others at home were the only ones able to shop in that matter. It does not have to be this way now that technology is there.
  18. The last night before Black Friday was very cold for North Florida. I am expecting the worst, but will have to check the forecast now that you mentioned it! Are those Coleman heaters?
  19. Klownicle, it was Tampa, as i recall.
  20. It helps to know what your locals are up to! I have sent out spies in the past, and changed locations based upon line info.
  21. 20 bottles of propane? Just saw that. What was your largest consumption of propane in a single outing? I always bring the small bottles, but never use very much.
  22. The only way i am going to buy that opinion is that he got it on a rent to own deal.
  23. If a 20 minute delay is your only complaint about best Buy, consider yourself extremely blessed!
  24. Lining up late on Thanksgiving for a line at Best Buy is fairly well predictable, as you found out. You were absolutely correct. lining up for a laptop equates to being there within the top twenty to be fairly certain that you will get something. You must expect the worst when calculating the odds, unless you get to know the people in front of you which can bring more desired results, or a quick trip home after the headcount reveals the obvious.
  25. :argue_curThe "Marriage-Ender".
