Does anyone here think that a more appropriate title for Gamestop would be "ConsoleStop".? Ever since they ruined EBGames, their focus and indignant attitude towards the PC crowd has left me numb.

Here is one of the positive responses from their Ethics office: I work with Kathleen in the Ethics Office and she asked me to follow up with you on this matter. I’ve spoken with a few people here about your experience. It’s my understanding that the Black Friday company policy, is one ticket per item per customer. As Kathleen suggested, I would still like to forward your question/concern to the Customer Care department for a much better response/action than we are able to give. Is that okay? It sure does! last year, I helped distribute sales fliers to customers in line for the LCD blowout sale they were having directly in conjunction with Black Friday. I also saw many buy LCD TVs on the Wednesday prior to the store closing. They had unadvertised specials in addition to the advertisement jim is talking about. They were also selling one of the Black Friday LCD deals early, since they had ample supplies. This location has been a prime mover of LCD TVs since it's opening.

I am still in conversation with Best Buy. What you have described is a nightmare worse than mine. They still maintain that you were supposed to get what Big jim had posted from last years policy. They did say that it is too early to know what the new policy is, but most of the moderators do not anticipate a change.

I can do this the week of Black Friday. I can possibly do a live show with you on location (that is, if you are not camping yourself).

It depends upon how close you are to the door! Take a retractable tape measure with you, drive over to Best buy and spec it out. I will be using both tents, and screen houses(with tarps).

When my children were younger I would hit one or two stores and be back in time for my husband to go to work. It was the only way I could do it and while it wasn't perfect (only had a couple of hours), it worked. I got most of what I wanted. Last year I did take DD12 because our Walmart was open all night. She was excited at first but about 3 she was soooooo tired lol. That is a good age to start!

Target has a little secret: Target will roll out product throughout the day. I went there a couple of years ago at 5 PM and got everything I wanted. I am sure that each store is different, but the bottom line is that they want to keep a steady flow of customers throughout the day.

How did that Paula Deen cookware turn out? The enamel ones stuck to glass cook-tops! The set I bought is ok, but the insides and bottoms are nasty, no matter what pre-soaking you gave them to remove the outer coating.(I did not get the enamel set because I have a cook-top.)

I vote that we move this out of the Black Friday forum, and into the regular forum. it has as much relevance as Comp USA Black Friday in July ads do.

Keep in mind that Best Buy could very well have sales on LCD TVs up to the store closing on Wednesday, just like last year. Just like Jim said, Best Buy always has someone to assist the loading of large TVs. If you plan on bringing an open bed truck, I would strongly suggest going to the hardware store and purchase a large water-proof tarp, along with sufficient length bungee cords, or twine. Last year it rained, and all bets are off it it ruins the set.

Unfortunately, their customer service is in shambles. Just look on their Community website, and you will see a plethora of unanswered complaints, and you can also follow some web complaints against them with the BBB. If they would hire me as a consultant, i would do a real good job as the hatchet man, getting rid of undesirable employees and establishing true customer relations experts who walk the floor, not ride a counter.

I am getting the Wifi thing straight also. We got it from a nearby free net, but the fidelity was weak in front of the store. You had to go to the end of Best Buy to get a good signal. I will be building Cantennas and will test out a yagi antenna as well.

Wow, I appreciate the perspectives here! Some are of the opinion that there is truly only one shot to get the gifts at the price they need to pay for an item. So far, most agree that it is ok to take a child, as long as it is past the rush and not in a line outside for a great deal of time. Those are my concerns. I see it happen every year. I was once in a Walmart and two smaller children were next to me for the Razor scooters. Remember those? The crowd was pressing so hard, the kids were getting crushed. I yelled back to the crowd to ease up and I would hand the scooters back to them. After that, it was ok, but i sure was scared for those kids!
