You are basically suffering from product saturation. It blurs one's ability to discern a good deal from an everyday sale. It is perfectly acceptable to fall into this category, especially in the economic climate we are in. There were a couple:):) of years where nothing was a bargain to me, but later on, i found it a worthy or noble deed to shop for others, and to keep the tradition alive.

I scored some Pop-ups at Sears earlier this year, so we will be able to set up a command post for the laptops, but will still be looking for a portable generator cheap! Does anyone know of any deals on portables?

The over-nighters with 3 to 4 year olds really bother me. This woman from Georgia subjected her child to freezing temps for an LED TV. She could have waited in her car over at Compusa for the same item.

Pregnant women in their third trimester have no business out in that mess. Plain stupidity. Show more concern for the life you carry!

The entries were a joke, and some of the winners were pathetic in their diatribes about how their child just loves Best Buy.

There is nothing worse than waiting for a netbook, only to find out that the one you are after was in profusion on the floor, and being grabbed up by other people! We had coupons for the netbook, but they ended up being the upgraded model. After realizing that they had royally screwed up, I explained to the manager that you cannot get an upgrade option without first been given the right to refuse the baseline model! He managed to find one left, but never admitted that he did anything wrong, even though none of the tickets had prices that would have indicated which model i was seeking.

Did they limit purchases to family members?

Our group used the local WIFI to order movies from Amazon. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because they really screwed this event in a major way. They did not have some of the doorbuster movies, and did not produce a guaranteed ticket to get one. I had silver status, so i ordered mine, but the rest of the group thankfully got theirs another way.

No, the policy was apparently changed at will. They pulled this stunt with our group. We had enough people to counter most of this, but we will have a better strategy next year, including the corporate policy printed out, along with an understanding beforehand on what they will or will not attempt to do. We had one of the most frustrating times ever, and will elaborate in another section.

We are here in force with 6 tents, and more people are starting to show up as i speak. #1 again. we had a great buffet style thanksgiving dinner, and we have already shopped online and price matched the sony bluray player for $118. The Local best buys have been ordered to clearance or blow out all televisions, so they have been marked down even further from the 4 day sale. Having WiFi here is a bonus!

We are in for some rain, so it is going to be interesting!

You might prefer the Walmart system of one ticket, period.

My son gets his share of tickets, and he has been doing this since he was11. he is now 15. So heck yeah!!!

Congrats then, i was wondering how they would do all of that on the 24th, now i understand it could have been earlier.

That is interesting. The winners are to be notified on the 24th.

We see all of those CRT monitors at yard sales. $5 mostly. People can't seem to give them away.:eek:Good luck on the Storage drive, I hope the Staples trip is a worthwhile one!:)
-
I would have hoped that the store would provide one like all of our locations do!

Wow! That is quite an assumption you have there! Since you have no experience actually repairing these, and do not build them as I do, you really have no qualified opinion other than your own experience, which is your right to express. I did not belittle anyone for owning them, but i will point out that many more people have complained about these junk computers than have benefited from them. The archives as well as the internet in general is a graveyard of complaints to this effect. The computers and crt monitors are known in the industry as "throwaway computers". They are a joke, because they generate trouble when the establishments give them away, and then have to deal with all of the bad press for selling them in the first place. It is a no win situation for them. I am glad that Walmart can be the charitable one this year. They can afford to absorb the loss when it comes to returns from budget minded consumers.

I wouldn't brag on anything that can be had for a lot less if you wait about 6 months.
