  1. That doesn't work for holiday merchandise. A handful of states force them to honor it for seasonal merchandise, but CA does not.
  2. I haven't but I will say that for the last 10 years it has not gone 90% on 1/1, at least here. I live in Pasadena, CA and the Rose Parade causes 1 of our stores to open late and the other to be open, but incredibly hard for me to get to until early afternoon at the best. I ALWAYS am anxious and try to venture out when I can, but it has NEVER gone down. In fact, it has consistently gone down 1/3 or 1/4. Just my $.02
  3. Did you scan? They don't generally vary the holiday clearance that much from store to store. If you only saw signs, they actually say 30% and up, so you might have just been seeing what they had available. Generally, only the mainline, bagged candies are 30%, the rest is 50% if you scan it. Here too. Ours sold out. That does not mean there will not be more, as whatever is still at the distribution center will still make its way to the stores and get marked down, but a lot of stores sell out of the most popular Lego with or without clearance pricing at Christmas. Plus there are often returns. Here they marked all the 30% stuff as usual before Christmas, fitted what they could onto endcaps and moved the rest to the backroom. I actually watched them do it at one store. Yesterday they were consolidating and moving stuff out of the back room to the floor. Stuff that was 30% before Christmas went 50% yesterday. That is all right along the normal way of doing it. Plus they will have more coming in from the distribution center and there are often unopened pallets in the backroom that they just didn't have time to get to before Christmas.

  5. Didn't have time to look all around, but the NM Christmas items in Eagle Rock, CA were also 50%, so I imagine they all were.
  6. Too bad the $10 off $50 has expired! Yes, some stores have some Legos 50%. I stopped by 4-5 stores on Saturday coming home from an event, and the trend seemed to be for the stores with very small quantities of clearance Legos had them at 50%. If they had more than 2-3 sets of an item, it was only 30%.
  7. it isn't a coupon, it is this week's sale. Ends today. it is ONLY for the Lego City stuff, nothing else.
  8. No. There are also some Star Wars ones on clearance. These vary from store to store. Only the Lego City ones are ALSO on B1G1 half, though. HOWEVER, not ONLY Lego is clearance. Lots of other stuff, and some of the other stuff is also B1G1 half, and I got some Barbie clothes (marked 50% off) for more like 65% off with the sale.
  9. Anyone besides me find most of the BF ads kind of boring and not worth going out for? I think I'll get up early and go hit a couple of stores in the morning for nostalgia's sake, but I am not seeing anything exciting.
  10. Yeah, I was surprised and bummed. Nothing left in Duarte, anyway, they have all the Christmas out, even the small toys that are on the wall that is usually full of Halloween candy. Pasadena has those light up signs for the window that I want, but nothing else. East Pasadena has a TON of the largest bags of candy, though, so if you need that, it is the place to go. They also have an entire endcap of the cereals. So if you are in this way, it could be worth it tomorrow. They all said tomorrow would be the day.
  11. That is weird. Funny thing, though, my son actually said he wanted me to put them in this time. I was only able to get 2, so it all works out. Could probably have sifted them out if necessary. Anyone find 90% yet?
  12. Sounds yummy. :-) We pick them up for cupcakes with and without sprinkles. My son LOVES white cake cupcakes.
  13. Not sure about other stores, but ours has a whole rack of halloween tshirts in the boys department. They are part of the halloween sale, but not marked and not moved. Orange one with a fishy monster, white one with a bunch of those fang teeth on it, one that looks like a beast ripped it open and one that says this is my halloween costume. Found M&Ms still at the checklanes. :-)
  14. Yeah, darned just in time ordering has just trashed the clearance. I used to be able to get the little dolls to use for later, but nothing, not a thing left here. No toys at all. They used to over order like crazy and it didn't matter so much because people were spending like crazy and they would buy tons at full price, so they minded have a lot of clearance left a lot less. Nowadays it is all different. Around here the only things that will be left for 90% will be the really odd candy, Reeses cups (always tons of Reeses cups) and the little party favor toys. I should swing by Walmart and get some Hershey's candy and Peanut M&Ms for the kids and some Tootsie Rolls (my weakness) now since they go straight to 50%. Really hate the 30% nonsense they started a while back on the candy.
  15. I guess you'd be ticked at me then! LOL! I buy 24 napkins and use them all year. You don't like it, tough. I use 2 packs a month for my family, and yes I DO need them. Sorry you don't like it, but that's life. I don't buy any decor or costumes because I think Halloween is truly stupid, but that's me. The only other thing I buy is a bit of candy, though not much, and cake mix if I need it and get it at 70-90% off.
  16. LOL! We use Halloween napkins year round. I buy them on clearance and store the in the basement. Yep, dollar spot. Bought them there a few times.
  17. Sale-wise, I didn't see anything to speak of when I stopped by. They had a couple others in the same ad, but the price was not a sale, just advertising them. Clearance-wise, it is done on a store by store basis, so what is on clearance there may not be where you are, or even another store in the same town. It is very, very inconsistent and annoying. You can get some great deals sometimes, but you just have to get lucky.
  18. not really sure. the folks at TRU mentioned it to me, I didn't see it.
  19. Target will price match, but Walmart won't give rain checks unless that is just local. Our stores won't give you one for anything.
  20. They messed up the flyer. It is an error, and you are not going to see it online. There were apparently several errors in this weeks ad. Something about the new Skylanders game, too, though it might have been a separate flyer. I didn't notice it in the ad I grabbed. Walmart was out of stock, which I knew from checking online, but they had ads. When I took the ad to TRU, they would not honor it because they said it was an error. They had a corporate email about it that told managers not to honor it. I know the manager and he pulled it up and showed me. I guess they had an all call go out to stores on the Skylanders thing the day before. So, I took the ad to Target. PMed no problem at all. The cashier balked a bit at the amount, and got a manager to do the override. Can't blame her, I wouldn't want to be in trouble for it either. Thanks again, OP!
  21. I ran across a lone cotton candy machine today at a store I visit less often. Bought it at 50% even though I know they went 70% at my close stores. Really wanted it, and I got big gift card from a business I work with, so I could splurge. :-)
  22. You've tried a dehumidifier? Moisture is usually the culprit. Haven't used the air purifier. you might want to look at consumer report's website. Some of their info is free, and it could at least tell you broadly whether they work.
