  1. Everywhere I've gone today was 90%/70%. Duarte went today but had little.
  2. That sounds right. I imagine it will go 90 everywhere tomorrow.
  3. Been to 4 stores today. 2 with little left were 90%/50%
  4. You can return holiday items, but you only get the current selling price in most states. There are a handful of states that require stores to give the original sale price, whatever it was, but the majority allow them to give the current selling price. So, if you bought at 70% and it is still 70%, you get 70%. But when it drops to 90%, even if you bought at 50% or 70%, you only get the 90% price. Again, that is in most states, not all. They say that almost every time. It will go 90%. There just isn't any reason for it not to. The only reason they salvage earlier for products is if they have a liquidator willing to pay them more than that for it. That's why things like electronics often salvage at 50%. They can get a liquidator to take the whole lot for more than the 70% price, and they don't have to spend man hours stickering it to the new price. Better for them. Not so with holiday merchandise. There is a ton of it out there at every retailer, so they need to unload it for whatever they can get from us. Yeah that is a nasty exception. It really isn't right... There isn't an easy way. But this comes up almost every year, and those whose states are exceptions generally chime in. I can never remember if it is Kansas or Missouri, but one of those. Maybe Florida? Those of you in those states ought to mention it.
  5. Where are you? It really helps when folks include their location. Lights pretty well all gone here. bummer...
  6. Just my $0.02, but in my experience, they've never gone 90% on Jan 1 here. I know it well because I am always feeling incredibly cooped up and like I am possibly missing it because of the Rose Parade (we get blocked in due to street closures and traffic till late afternoon). Every year I go out in vain hopes of it being 90% off, I get there and find it is still 70%. Every single year for the last 10 years, at least. On the other hand, there is virtually nothing left around here. My only hope is in hitting some of the more distant stores in my area the day it does go down, which has almost always been 1/2 here.
  7. Anyone in orange county should try fountain valley store. They were still loaded with stuff yesterday.
  8. Just an FYI, I was checking the price match policy, since I knew it was updated, and saw this: Ad exclusions: Items advertised as limited time/limited supply/limited quantity.Black Friday ads (including adjusting prices for previously purchased items). Now many of us have, in the past, purchased items before BF and then gone in for a price adjustment. If I read this correctly, it looks like they won't be doing this anymore. Pretty sure they still did it last year, but just in case, I wanted to make sure to bring it up. Their price adjustment policy IS basically a part of the price match, oh, and it says 7 days now, not 14. https://corporate.target.com/about/shopping-experience/shop-with-confidence#q5384 See the section called Price Match Guarantee & the Exclusions for details.
  9. Last year the chips were marked down. This year they were not. I checked early on.
  10. Ha! The stores are aware of it, so don't count on it. I think they pulled them at my stores before I got there. No joy for me. Boooo!!!!
  11. One store was like this, but it was the store with a lot still left. The 2nd store had only a small amount left, and was still 70% and 50% food/candy.
  12. I think it could be as early as tomorrow. They are all desperate to get Christmas set because they have a week less between Thanksgiving & Christmas this year. They were setting most everything the last few days.
  13. I has consistently been only 30% on the candy and big name brand snacks for the last couple of years now. Some of the snacks were ringing up 50%, just not stuff like Goldfish. Some, like Cheez its weren't even on sale. Fortunately, my best store didn't stock the cups yesterday, and I had the DPCI. I was able to get them pulled from the back and didn't have to fight for them. Saw an unusual amount of napkins on the shelves at stores. So weird, this is the first year I can remember when there wasn't a big group waiting. There were, maybe 4-5 of us, and all were polite. I took most of the napkins, but not all. Someone asked if I got them all when the shelves were empty, and I did point out the others who had them. She was just late....Fortunately for her, I directed her to the paper products area, and they had another shelf full. :-) For those in SoCal, the San Dimas store had far and away the most left. Followed by West Covina (off the 10). Also, in case anyone missed it, the Halloween Barbie & Chelsea dolls are BOGO 50% in addition to the 50% of. Also, there are a few PJs in the kids dept. I found the one pair that would fit my son, and was able to stack the Cartwheel 20% off, so they were $3.99. A lady in front of me at another store was buying several pairs of boys PJs, so I was telling her about Cartwheel. I offered to let them scan mine for her, and she saved $9. She said she'd be downloading it. :-) Happy to share if I am not using them.
  14. Thanks. I guess I can't do the friend thing since I don't have any friends using it. I don't use facebook for much more than this kind of junk, so I am not very savvy or very connected. I did get the Star badge, though. THanks! No. More likely the item you bought wasn't part of the promo. It excludes Little People and is only for "select" items, so that is probably the issue. It looks like it is primarily for the teethers and the little baby toys.
  15. Okay, the first 2 badges involve other people, though. Any idea how those are unlocked? I can't figure them out. The others are as you save. Unfortunately, I haven't had that many great deals that I wanted to use. I got a big bump on the Furby last week, but otherwise it is hit or miss. Thanks!!
  16. From what I can see, though, I can only see my own activity. No idea how to see someone else's, which is what you need to be able to unlock the badge.
  17. That's a good question. I can't figure this out. Can anyone out there who uses it and facebook (I just have an account I use for junk like this) let us know? One of the badges you need to open up has to do with looking at what your friends have bought, but I can't figure out how to do that. I can see my own history in my activity, but I don't know how it shows up on someone else's page. Any help is welcome. I know this isn't a Cartwheel page, but not much else has been going on at Target lately....
  18. thanks Tink. I see. They want you to get other people to join and the rest are pretty much for using it. The more you save overall, the more badges open up.
  19. so how is it you have 21 spots? I have 12. there is rarely anything worth my adding, but I check. The site is so badly organized and hard to use. Not a fan, particularly, but I have continued to try it.
  20. It is okay. I despise Facebook, and don't like that using this app allows facebook more info on me that they turn around and sell. I also hate the fact that you are limited to 10 items. Just make the whole thing available or don't. I've been in the store and tried to change it, but then I can't get the app to work so I can't delete 1 item to add another if I find I need to. I've only saved about $4 in the 2 months I've had it. I've certainly gotten more out of Shopkick than I've saved on Cartwheel.
  21. I think they are marking the backpacks with sporting goods rather than BTS, so whatever day that is. Here is is Friday or Wednesday.
  22. almost no school supplies left in the BTS area, so not much marked down. If you have photos of your haul, please post as it might help some of us find stuff in regular aisles. SO bummed I missed them marking garden because I was eyeing some large pots that were left. They must have gotten scooped up yesterday. boo!
  23. Lots of markdowns in stationery today. They pulled pretty much all the BTS that was regular merchandise and marked the rest down manually. Gone are the days of the whole section going.... Mens markdowns too. Got several nice tank tops for DH. Since we have another 4-6 weeks of summer weather, they'll be welcome.
  24. It looks like a lot of it will just go back into inventory. Stuff they carry anyway. Kind of like they do with bulk sometimes. Items they don't carry regularly will go down, the rest will get pulled. They are going to have to do it pretty quickly now as the Halloween stuff is coming in and they are supposed to set costumes this week/weekend. They need the space.
  25. That is definitely whacky. Never had that happen, and I shop at about 12 Target stores in my area. If you have a 2nd store available to you, I'd go there. There's no reason for a store manager to have that policy. It isn't like they don't get reimbursed for the coupons. I'd also complain to corporate. Most stores have the same policies, but they are given some leeway. Around here it is Walmart that plays fast and loose with "policies." I hate the stores anyway since they are always so nasty, and I go there as infrequently as I can (though some things I can't always find elsewhere), so I hear what you are saying Tink.
