  1. LOL! Walmart in Duarte, CA STILL has the dregs of Christmas sitting around at 75%.
  2. Hmmmm....our bulk, including Tide, is holding at 15%. Making me crazy. Vday 90/70 here too. One hidden find in the toys, is the Sofia First (I think that is the right name) figures. They had them in Vday and they are the same figures as the regular aisle, but the plastic bubble part of the packaging has a heart shape to it. If you see those in toys, they are 90%.
  3. VDay is variable. Stores with lots left have everything, including candy, 70%. Stores with little left are 30/50/70%. Was this this morning? I checked our stores, and there was no movement.
  4. Yep, that might be why you are seeing so much left, too. I stopped by one of my stores late in the morning today. They were marking sporting goods. No movement on the camping stuff. They also told me they'd have to mark all the remaining toys next week since there was no movement this week because of the reset. So if you still have anything worth going after, next week it is. If anyone was waiting for the Christmas "gifts" in mens, they marked them to 70% yesterday.
  5. Legos mostly have not gone below 50% anywhere. I found some Friend sets at 70%, but I think I am the only one. Power wheels are 50% at all 10 of the stores I went to last Thursday, same with the Barbie sets and doll houses. Most items here went 70% last week, but pretty much everything you mention didn't. The Legos often don't go below 50% anymore, but that has varied quite a bit. But if your store has a LOT of clearance, they might have decided to try to hold out for a better price before clearancing it all the way to 70%. Where are you located? Some of it moved last week, but I didn't see anything yet this week.
  6. Can someone shoot me an explainer or link on how to make the photos a thumbnail. Can't seem to find it.
  7. The Monster High stuff was 50% at most of our stores. The difference in price by $1 is caused by the fact that the starting price is different. Prices across stores are not always the same. In some markets there is a price difference across a large number of items because the store has to pay higher rent. I see it all the time around here. I have to agree that there was a lot of variation in the items marked down this year, but mostly it is the difference in the store size. Smaller stores have a smaller toy departments, and they clearance more items than the other stores with more selling space. I visited 10 Targets today, though by the end there was nothing new and I was bored. It is nice to be able to do a big loop and hit so many, though. I got a number of items, and saw several. I don't have prices for everything, but some of the best I found: Small Lego Friends sets 70% off - This was a shocker, actually 1 and only 1 Monster Fighters Lego set 50% off. Lego Duplo Cinderella's Castle 50% off - $25 Imaginext Castle 70% off - $14.98 Hexbug Hurricane 70% off - $14.98 - all other stores had this full price Halo Pelican Halo Hornet Lalaloopsy Large Doll And lots of Spy Gear And, while I was out, I was very close to the fire you might have seen in the news. Here are a couple of shots from the Target parking lot. http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg158/lsmythLPS/IMG_20140116_095049792.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg158/lsmythLPS/Fire1.jpg
  8. Camping stuff usually goes to 70% the week after toys, and, at least around her, they mark it on Fridays.
  9. Okay, so is everyone back East out still shopping toy clearance? Was it 70% today? Please, please post before I have to play family chauffeur!
  10. Well, I guess we will see. I cancelled my morning meeting so I would have a bit of time to check. Hubby's car is in the shop, so I have to drop everyone off. Then my 7th grader has finals and has to be picked up at 12:30, so I get very little time to check our stores. It will be a bummer if it is tomorrow, but it will be whatever it is....There really isn't much, so I guess it isn't too big a deal.
  11. I've only seen one Trackmaster set w/ Diesel. And not all stores.
  12. I have to agree. It is pretty pathetic. I guess Target is getting better at ordering.
  13. Checked our 1 Wed store, and no change. I think it will be next week, but it is still hard to know. I wasn't able to find any of the markdown team working, so I could not ask.
  14. It sounds like they were consolidating the section. They mark some stuff down all year long, but twice per year they do a major reset of each department. In toys, there are so many items, they go to the trouble to consolidate the clearance into 1-2 aisles and the end caps. This gets it out of the regular aisles so they can proceed with resetting the regular merchandise. If they have too much to fit into the designated aisles, they will push the carts to the back room and bring it out later as there is space. Yesterday they did mark a number of items to 50%, but either next week or the week after they will mark it all 70% off (they don't do 75% anymore). You really want to try to be there that day as it tends to go fast once it is marked.
  15. Yeah, I have more for camping than I would if it weren't for target clearance. No movement today, but worth checking tomorrow. Still I think 2 weeks
  16. What state are you in? I haven't seen the stoves, but I got one 3 or 4 years ago on clearance. Tents too, when they had the nice Kelty ones. I'm watching the knives and some other odds and ends. I'm kind of doubtful it will happen today. I'm thinking next week or even the week after. They've been so messed up the last couple of years. I think next week is the most likely, particularly since they still haven't completely consolidated, nor have they started the reset in earnest yet. But I will still stop by and check this morning. Though, so far I haven't seen much I care about.
  17. Most stores, the day after toys. And 70% comes a week after the toys go 70%. Watching those tents, are you? Ah, man! I don't think I saw any of this stuff. I'd have liked this one. I will have to look tomorrow.
  18. Yeah, we have the same problem. Not sure where you live, but in our area it sells out early too. I think the less populated parts of the country have more stores per capita, so there is more left over. It is counter-intuitive, but in the larger cities land is so much more expensive that they build fewer stores. I've also found that areas where there are both Walmart & Target close together, the Walmarts will sell out early, leaving more at Target. I try to hit those stores when I am looking for something specific. Now I will need to troll some grocery & drug stores.
  19. I got 15 of those and told someone else about what I left. They must have found a couple of cases here. Since they are vacuum sealed individually, they will be good till we use them up.
