Yeah, could someone who is getting the TP let us know exactly which packaging? I haven't been able to fina any marked down. TONS and TONS of oatmeal available, but nothing else. It was probably bought by employees here as it was off the shelves yesterday morning and almost nothing reappeared on the end caps in the various departments. Gal in Electronics knew I was looking for the Scribblenauts guide book and put it back for me. SO SWEET! DS will be very happy. -

Hmmmm....I may have to stop back by. They had pulled everything at our stores and were restocking the shelves with summer/gardening stuff. Maybe they'll put it out on end caps or something. -

For Halloween & Christmas, it seems that they took it all the way down. But because Vday is so close to Easter, maybe they decided not to this time around. Hard to say, but I'd buy it if you want it. I would not count on it going all the way down. They want to get Easter out, so they may just be moving it. We didn't have anything left at our stores, which is probably why they salvaged it. The entire salvage pile was 3 of those overstock boxes they use. I know because I went through them and the department manager told me that was all that was left. Oh, be sure to check the regular candy aisle. I found some of the Ghiradelli chocolates there. They have little hears on the packages but they aren't easily obvious. -

Dollar spot was ringing up INF and Vday had been pulled and salvaged. Managed to find a couple of small items anyway, but not much. -

They don't mark it manually, so that doesn't make a lot of sense. And, only the markdown team can use the scanners to determine whether it will be going down, and they don't work on Saturdays. All sounds rather odd. But if you don't want to shop at Target over the whole thing, then I am sure the others in your area that shop clearance will be just as glad to get what is left. If he said it is "going" 90% but not that it "is" 90%, I think would have simply asked when? I can't really fault the manager, he was just doing his job, and if he had to honor what any employee said he thought was going to happen, then he'd have bigger problems on his hands. -

If it wasn't marked 90%, why would you expect them to do it? Just because some young employee thought it was doesn't mean he had any clue what he was talking about. The store has no control over it whatsoever. The markdown for holiday merchandise comes through corporate and happens when it happens. It doesn't even happen at the same time from store to store. They don't get a notice or anything, from what I've been told, they just know approximately when to expect it, and they change the signs when it goes. It would be insanity to honor the word of some kid working for the store. He has no authority. -

Yeah, I haven't been on my high horse about it for some time, but no location info is a pet peeve of mine. Doesn't matter for the online deals, but it sure helps to know for offline. If you don't at least list your state, people are going to ask you all the time. You can edit it under Control Panel, Edit Your Details and scroll down a bit. -

They've been doing it like that since Halloween and it must work out since they keep doing it. Some people are probably not noticing. Went to 7 Targets and found VERY little Valentines stuff left at any of them. A few stashes were there. Others were looted already. bit of a bummer. Did find some good Easter stuff coming out. -

Should be tomorrow, but given the craziness of how they are only marking some stores 30%, you might do better going to another store for candy since they usually mark it immediately. On the other hand, they were pushing all the Vday stuff aside yesterday so they could push Easter out, so maybe they won't play games with the Valentines candy. -

I put a surge protector on the outlet just to be extra careful with it. I LOVE that coffeepot! -

Bit of a long story, but they had advertised a video game that DS wanted for Christmas with a $15 gift card. There were no limitations listed in the sale flyer regarding quantity on hand, no rain checks or anything. I scoured it. I am sure others on here can relate to that. Well, I went in mid-afternoon and they were out of games and refused to give me a rain check. I was furious and wrote the president. I copied the sale ad and made it all very clear. I asked for them to honor the deal in the ad. That was all I wanted. The game was supposed to be $30 with a $15 gift card. I got a corporate-speak response saying that they could do this and the language was in there. Blah, blah. It clearly wasn't. I wrote a second letter blasting them for their response and indicating that I'd be passing it along to the attorney general (they are the ones that regulate advertising). I also just told them that it was ridiculously bad customer service, particularly for someone with my buying record there. I referred them to my loyalty card number. I did not get the game and the card, but I did get a $30 gift card, which I was able to use to buy something else. By then Target had had the same game on sale for half price, so I ended up satisfied. I have been pretty successful getting things from companies as long as I spell out the remedy I expect. I forget where I learned that, but I heard it somewhere. I had a nightmare with an expensive Cuisinart coffeemaker once. It kept dying on me after 10-11 months of use. I had bought it at Macys and they replaced it for me because CA law actually requires the retailer to do it if it is under warranty. Most don't but they are supposed to. Macy's did it without blinking. I had it replaced 2 times that way. They gave me a new receipt. I had written the company telling them what I thought of their coffeemaker. I kept copies of the letter. It happened a second time and I really let them have it. When it failed the 3rd time after just 7 months I sent off a blistering letter with copies of the old letters and told them how disgusted I was with the company and that I had replaced it with a Krups (which I didn't tell them I hated). I also mentioned that I had been planning on buying their top of the line food processor, but now didn't think I could trust the company's products. I got a phone call within a week and received both a new coffee maker and a $350 food processor within 2 weeks. I think they tested that coffeemaker to a fair-thee-well because I still have it after 6 years! I've only had to replace the carafe this year. I have also bought many more of their products since then. -

You can't email him, you have to snail mail it. But it is more effective that way anyway. Be sure to be explicit about what you expect to happen. Just ranting doesn't get you anywhere. I have had a lot of success writing these letters. If you have reported this to the 800# or the online form, be sure to include that as well as any correspondence you might have gotten back. And be sure you include the person's name. If you have the receipt, it is worth including a copy or at least the receipt number. That way they can look at the tapes if they choose to. Gregg Steinhafel Chairman, President, and CEO Target Corporation 1000 Nicollet Mall Minneapolis, MN 55403 I wrote TRU about a problem last fall. I got an unsatisfactory response from an underling and wrote a second time. I got what I asked for then. -

They are doing that a lot more now. They did it with most of the Legos during the toy sale. A few stores took some sets all the way to 75%, but it seems the majority did not. I've seen more electronics disappearing at 50% too. I think more big items that they can sell to a liquidator for better prices , probably, are what are going at 50%. -

Ahhh....but lots of us don't have dollar stores. we have a 99cents store, but they don't carry decent TP or paper towel. But, that said, ours isn't marked down, either... -

I've been to one or two here in our area and they were a joke. It was a huge waste of time. Maybe I should give them another go. Thanks. -

I stopped back by on my way to pick up the kids from piano. I need the Scribblenauts book for DS. Darn! I forgot to check and see if any of the books got marked. I've been watching some kids books. I have been supplying DS teacher with some sets of 6 books for the reading circle of advanced readers in her class. DS is one of them, and they desperately need chapter books. There are a few on sale, but I want them for a lot less since the are hardbound. -

It doesn't generally get lower than 15-30% off before it is snapped up. And they don't always put it on clearance. They are doing things differently, and the stuff in the bulk section is a bit different than the traditional between-season filler, so it is hard to say. But, if they are going to, it should start soon. They normally would be doing clearance on the World Market stuff about now. -

anyone see if video games went down today? They hadn't done the department when I was there this morning.
