  1. I completely disagree. The markdown team only has to scan 1 of the item for the price to be changed. So long as there is at least 1 or 2 of any item (really any DPCI as some items come as assortments) on the shelf for them to scan, stashing works just as well for toys as any other clearance at Target. I do it almost every year.
  2. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean anything as they very, very often skip 50% on Christmas clearance.
  3. You just never know till it happens. I am hoping it will be the week after next since I have to pick my son up from an overnight field trip tomorrow at 10:30 in the morning.
  4. Wow! I am impressed! She sounds like my friend's son. I thought he was 16-17 and he is only 12! She is going to be tall like my sister-in-law, I bet. 6'1". I don't envy all the shoes you must have had to buy! My big guy has extra wide feet, so I am stuck buying all his shoes on Zappos. Oh, for anyone who has trouble buying shoes, Zappos isn't cheap, but that free shipping both ways is awesome. And you can call their 800 number and get advice about what brands run big or small or narrow or wide. Because I called, I got their VIP service added to my account, so they overnight the shoes to me. I have bought 4-5 pairs and had to send back 3-4 before, but it has never been a problem. Love that company! Without them DS would be shoeless Joe. :-)
  5. Really? I don't even know many adults that wear that 9s let alone 11. The only time I knew lot of women who wore that size was when I lived in Washington DC. I enjoyed it because I wore an 8 and 8s were never sold out when clearance rolled around. People who wore 9s were out of luck back then! Funny that so many women in that area wore that size, but they did.
  6. Wow! You must have a huge 11 year old, or she has huge feet! My 7 & 9 year old boys both wear around a 4 or 5. My 7 year old is huge for his age, too. He is fully a head taller than his friends and built like a linebacker. I have a friend whose son is 12 but looks 16 or so, too, so it certainly happens. They just spurt up when you have your back turned.
  7. Mighty Beanz all ring full price again, regardless of series. I checked multiple stores.
  8. Interesting. They are not both ringing up around here.
  9. It is the ones with the cars. The ones with the crews look the same but are not on sale.
  10. They often skip the interim markdown in January.
  11. Your store may have only had one kind, but they are not all the same. The ones on clearance are Series 1 (not labeled with the series though), and they have a sticker over the UPC code removing the regular UPC. Series 2 (red edge) and those without the sticker should be ringing up regular price.
  12. They are collectible toys. They originally came out about 5-10 years ago and this is a return to the market. They are like oversized capsule pills in size and they wobble like a Weeble. They come in Star Wars, Marvel & DC Universe licensed beanz and the original ones of their own. They collect them. They can play games with them and race them, etc. If you go to YouTube and search for Mighty Beanz Commercial, there is a 30 second commercial you can see that will give you a good idea.
  13. Yeah, that was how it was here tool. The green ticketed items were all old TRU clearance junk to start with. The other stuff was all full price.
  14. You realize those don't do anything, right? There is no remote control on the mini versions of any of those things. My kids found them to be pretty lame. They are fun with dogs & cats though. :-) They just walk around.
  15. That happens every year. It is surprising how many people will buy them at the higher prices, but it is just a matter of wanting it more than being willing to wait. Or not being willing to make more trips to see. My husband will almost always pay more to avoid having to go back or search around. Some people have more money than time. Just not us. :-)
  16. Found Valentines set at one store today. :-) Right next to 90% Christmas. Tons of those nasty frosted sugar cookies that my kids like were put out at 2 stores. must have gotten a new shipment. Odds and ends, but mostly gone. For those looking at toys, the ones that are 75% vary wildly from store to store. found some hat box sets 75% at one store, 50% at another and 30% at a 3rd. So, check for what you are looking at, you just don't know.
  17. I have only seen them at 1 store in our region (out of about 15 I have been to).
  18. Yes, it does. Every year we get worked up and expect it a week sooner than it really happens. However, it happened the 14th/15th last year. 2009 it was the 29th/30th. 2008 it was the 9th/10th. So, it is hard to say. I think next week is a good possibility. Hoping.
  19. If they are marking most things 50% off today, then that would mean 2 weeks more for the big markdown day. Our stores were not marking much, so hard to say for sure. But we should be ready for either week if possible.
  20. Only a handful of things and it seems to vary from store to store. This NOT the big markdown.
  21. Most is 90%, but bagged candy from mainline companies (M&Ms, Hershey's, etc) are 75%.
  22. Probably one of those new laws that went into effect the first of the year in Indiana. Nice. :-) Yes, they have always had the policy that items need to be returned to the floor before they can be sold again. However, not all employees enforce it. Once I told a guy I hoped to see them back out so I could get them back at the lower price, and he pushed them across to me. He said I might as well get them and be sure they sold. I've had altercations with one manager over the carts next to guest services. As far as I am concerned they are on the sales floor. If they don't want us to go through them, then they should keep them in the back.
