I would not trust her. I would check back. 2 of the 4 stores I stopped by today were 90%. They often don't have a clue anyway. -

I think living 2 hours from Target might give me a nervous breakdown. What state do you live in? -

I thought that one went clearance during the summer. Isn't that the one with the spoon that she raises to her mouth? Creepy little things those dolls.... -

No. The regular clearance items (including toys) you can return for whatever you paid. Last summer I bought a tent for $200 and gritted my teeth. Late in the summer I found it for $149.98 and rebought it and returned on the $200 receipt. I figured that was better. Then a week later I found it at a store I visit infrequently for $99 and repeated the process. 2 weeks later I happened to be in the same store by chance and found it AGAIN for $49.98!! So, I bought and returned on each markdown and ended up paying on $49.98. -

Yes, it does include back stock. I almost never have a problem getting them to pull it from the back. I check the floor first, then find someone with a PDA and ask them to scan the shelf tag to see if they have them in the back. You can also check the scanner by typing in the code if it has a keypad and then asking. Make sure to tell them the machine says they have it. Sometimes the scanner is still wrong. They will usually show you what the PDA shows on it if you are trying to look at it. Sometimes they go back and it is a "ghost" meaning it ought to be there but isn't. I know the employees at most of my Targets well enough that they'll check for me. But usually they will check even at strange stores. Highly variable. Some stores will. Some stores absolutely will not. Store policy allows them to hold items that are not clearance and not collectible. I raised Cain before Christmas because I was looking for a couple of Monster High dolls and I had gone to Guest Services with another unrelated question and saw an entire cart being held back there. They told me they were held for someone who called, and I raised a stink and asked to speak to a manager. I knew her and told her they were collectibles (they are considered to be by their definition, same as Barbies) and she said, no way, can't hold them. So I got the couple I wanted and the rest went to the floor. The gal working there told me that the person who called said he wanted to re-sell them, so I sure didn't feel bad. -

No, Not very accurate. They only update every 48 hours. If there are fewer than 10 of an item, or it is clearance, don't count on it. -

No, it isn't new. But it only applies to holiday merchandise. If you are returning regular clearance, you get your receipt price back. You should try it with something just to see. It is applied very consistently through all the stores in the Valleys and over as far as the Ontario area and along the I-10 corridor. Those are the stores I frequent. -

You should have requested a rain check. I always do when they have a great sale on staples and are out. I got a LOT of butter pretty cheap that way last year. They honor the rain check for up to 6 weeks, and you can buy them one at a time if they are perishable. -

In most states you only get the current selling price. So, if you bought at 50% and return after it has dropped to 75% or 90%, you will only get the 75% or 90% price. A few states (everyone chime in who knows there state is different), like Missouri and/or Kansas and I think New Jersey allow you to get back your paid price. But the rest of us are out of luck. Pretty sure Ohio is an out of luck state. They have this policy posted in Guest Services. The exception to this is if the item is not working or otherwise defective. I bought one of those red box gifts (headlamp) for both my boys and one didn't work. I got full value back on that. Too bad I could not find a replacement despite visiting about 10 Targets! -

Well, the last 3 years it went 75% on the 30th or 31st, but at least the earliest stores went the 29th this year, so it should be earlier at least by a day or two than previous years. Would not be shocking if it went today or tomorrow at those early stores. They do tend to leave it at 75% over the full weekend to take advantage of normal weekend traffic. Depends a bit on how badly they want it gone to move on to full price merchandise. I have to take the kiddos to the Rose Parade float viewing this morning, so I won't get to check till later. -

Stores are already consolidating a lot of Christmas and setting the bulk stuff. Finally, Jif peanut butter 2 packs (large containers) for the same price as Smart & Final. Saves me a trip there at least once over the next couple of weeks. I suspect that any overheard conversations have to do with moving stuff to make room for the bulk items that fill in the major seasonal section (where the trees & ornaments were). A lot of stores will move everything to the mini seasonal section (where they had the stocking stuffers and gift sets) till it goes 90% then out the door as salvage. Then they'll bring in Valentines. I just ran out to the closest store which also has the most left. They apparently found a few more small Lego sets and some other toys because they were out and hadn't been earlier. Those and a few other select items made their way to an area of the store lacking a lot of cameras and with a reasonable stash spot. Just need to hang there till morning, I am pretty sure. -

I seriously doubt they'll skip 90%. It isn't impossible, but they didn't do it for Halloween, and a lot of stores have a lot of junk left. -

Hit several stores today. Found a few goodies, but most were already picked over. Too bad I didn't feel better yesterday. Only one of the stores had just gone down today, so I got most there. Bargain of the day came at my last store and was random. I got a Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle for 50% off!!!!! None of the rest of the Lego HP was even on sale at this store. It was the only store that had Hogwarts marked down that I know of so it was a real steal! -

Yes. I have had it happen at around 11am before. I was scanning items and they scanned 50%, then suddenly dropped to 75%. It is NOT always first thing in the morning. Pasadena East is 75% today. -

What a load of whoohey! Call back and ask for guest services and ask them to have someone check. When you call, you get the operator (who is the fitting room attendant). If she is unpleasant or in a bad mood, you get that kind of attitude. -

Sorry, not feeling all that well, and just saw the N, and obviously I am S. :-( But for those of us down south, East Pasadena was at 50%. -

Yes! I just got back. Pasadena (old store) is 75%. I have not made to the East Pas store. Burbank is 50%. North Hollywood is 75%. Eagle Rock is 50%. I had hoped to hit Glendale on the way back from dropping mom at the airport, but didn't get there. I am going to go East tomorrow, expecting to see those that didn't go today go down. So, the stores that have a TON of stuff left seemed to be down to 75% already. The ones that were only at 50% were pretty picked over already with much less remaining. -

Candy dropped to 50% while I was shopping a few minutes ago. At the same time, the Christmas Softsoap & body wash went 75%! I was also pleased to find they put out a case of Insulair coffee cups with lids. I scalped the $.55 coupons off the regular Insulair cups in the paper goods aisle making them $.94 a package. FYI, if you are shopping candy, there are still some valid coupons on coupons.com for Christmas candy.
