When I was in the store yesterday I noticed that most of the red boxes had been marked 30% the day before but several were 50% and had been marked earlier. I had not particularly noticed if all had been marked earlier. Lots of toys, including Lego, had been marked 30% in toys already.

Did you scan the red box toys? Because most of ours don't have stickers, but they they were 50% off nonetheless.

That sounds right. They do sometimes repack things, but usually Guest Services does that part and price change puts the price tag on it. It is not very common, and certainly not with stuff like partial packs of batteries.

Clearance is always really bad at this time of year. What does get marked down gets snatched up faster because there are more people in the stores. But, interestingly, I was chatting up the mark down team at one store today, and they said there has been less and less clearance over the last year or so. Target moved to a Just In Time system, so they don't have as much stuff in the warehouse that ends up clearance. But they said they think that clearance may go away entirely. I can't see how that is even possible since there is always stuff that doesn't sell, but they were feeling like it could happen. They mentioned that something called "re-wrap" went away. Maybe someone here who has worked at Target in the past and is on the list knows what that was and can comment. I am curious. But in any case, it doesn't bode well for us.

I've gotten 3 of those and 2 $5 off $50 in the last 10 days!

They did move some clearance around for BF. I have found a lot of stuff in odd places, but, honestly, a lot of it simply sold on BF with so many people looking for bargains.

Thanks for posting this. It saved me getting up to got to Kmart this morning to try to get one. I found one for $97.XX and was willing to pay the $8 over the kmart price to get that extra sleep today. :-) I would not even have thought to check Radio Shack, but I went in and asked and they had it. Now I can stop listening to DS grunt and complain because his top screen isn't working half the time.

for those who were DSi hunting, it looks like Amazon is going to have it in their gold box deal in 30 minutes.

if anyone sees these DS games go down from 30% PLEASE post it: Fossil Fighters, Yu Gi Oh World Championship 2009 & Starfy. Been stalking and have some hidden, but no joy yet.

Oh, and several places including Radio Shack and several other stores either have it or will have it for BF at this price.

Please note that it only has 4 hour battery life. That may work for you, but it is really short. My netbook lasts 8 hours which is about right. The difference in price for this one and the ones that last 8 hours is purely the price of the 6 cell battery rather than the 3 cell that this one has. If you want to replace the battery you end up spending the difference. So, just an FYI.

If the price is good, just get skins for it!

They all know me, and sometimes we can get a wink and a nod on those kinds of things.I looked at a scan on a competitor's site, and it doesn't look obvious. Ooops. I mis-remembered. They have the big Available 5am-11am right behind the picture of them. We'll see.

Unfortunately, they are a "doorbuster" so Target doesn't price match. Not likely it would work. May still give it a go. I am not going to Walmart. I'll pay the extra before I bother. However, last year Amazon met a lot of their prices so, maybe that will work out. If not, I'll wait till the 3DS comes out in the spring and get them cheap.

Okay, well, there hasn't been one yet, and all the major stores are already posted, so it must be from something where you are. That or it is Walmart, and you couldn't pay me to shop there, so I guess I'll wait. Thanks anyway.

Could you please share the place with a good price on them? We still want replacements for the DS, though with the Nintendo 3DS coming out in March, we may try limping along with the damaged one for now. No point in getting a DSi for our kiddos when we know the 3d one is around the corner and they'll need it for the Pokemon games they play in the future. Thought Black & White will be compatible with regular DS. Yeah!

POP Lego sets are buy one get one half this week at target.

Last year Target put several sets on clearance before Christmas - 30%. But sometimes it is the best we can do... They are supposed to have Harry Potter on sale this week starting tomorrow.

Yeah, these come and go throughout the year. They are located with the children's bedding, not the baby stuff.

Yeah, but with the DS 3D coming out in March, it hardly seems worth it...
