  1. bought one of those last year and they were garbage, so we returned it too.
  2. Yup. Nope. There might be a handful of things that go down, but the BIG markdown will probably be next week. It has been consistently for the last years and they marked a bunch of stuff last week (they almost never mark 2 weeks in a row). Neither is great for me, as I am leaving town shortly and next week have a Dr. appt on Thursday, but that is what I think will happen.
  3. Yeah...I have a Dr. appointment at 8:45, so I am going before and after...
  4. Depends on your store. The markdown team starts work at around 4am, and if they are on toys first, they'll be done. Sometimes they are marking it when we get there at 8, sometimes mid-day, sometimes Friday... Yep. Need to be scanned. Go at 10 and risk missing all the best stuff. I always go at 8. Some regular zhu zhu also on sale.
  5. That would be my guess. Though some stores will mark Legos to 75%. It will be hit or miss. I hit 3 stores this morning, and lots went 75% and some new 30%. Summer 50% here too. Finally broke down and got DS the badminton he's been wanting for a while. Hoping they don't use the hammers on each other... School uniforms? In past years, they didn't mark them till September with the school supplies. SO glad not to have to do uniforms anymore....we changed schools and they can wear what they want.
  6. If they were marking a bunch of stuff to 50%, that would tend to lend credence to the idea that it will not be next week, but the 28th as previously discussed. They almost never mark anything down two weeks in a row. The consolidation is done so that they can maximize the premium selling area and start getting it reset with fall merchandise. The district manager was here chastising a local store for moving regular priced Legos off their primary selling space (Legos have a higher profit margin), and made them move the clearance toys down to the summer & toy electronics aisle to get them out of the primary space.
  7. Me too, or at least I am hoping. I have been at Comic Con the 3rd week each of the last several years, and despite annual panic, I have not actually missed the markdown day. They are experimenting with a variety of changes for markdowns, and they tend to do that in a few markets, so you may be one of those. It does not bode well for those of us who are regular clearance shoppers, but I think that is the point. They don't make much money on those who only shop clearance. If they can make it less predictable, they will get people to buy at lesser markdowns. And, it increases customer loyalty if a regular shopper gets an awesome deal from time to time as it keeps them coming back to look for more, and they'll generally buy a lot of regular priced merchandise along the way.
  8. It is part of Baby generally, note a separate section, so generally Mondays and the schedule is generally true for the whole store - roughly every 2 weeks.
  9. It is a popular set, so it will sell out fast when the price drops again. I often miss out on the Lego.com sales because they seem to start either at midnight or based on East Coast times, so by the time I am away, the best stuff is gone. But TS3 Legos will be discontinued, so they'll drop most places. Generally, those are the Legos that go clearance. With Target, it is sometimes because they decided not to carry the full line or particular sets at all or some stores, but generally they only clearance as they are discontinued by Lego. FYI to all watching Lego, Prince of Persia sets are really unpopular except for true Lego hounds who have to have everything, or those who want the brown bricks which are less common. Unless they decide to salvage them (which some stores will), there will likely be some left at 75% to snatch up.
  10. The one you bought is $32 on Lego.com Yes, they have it highly varied this year. Several stores already clearanced some of the sets, including Prince of Persia (above referenced desert sets) and Atlantis and even Harry Potter during the winter clearance.
  11. Yes. Stuff that was already marked down went 75% today here. I got some pots, but not much else left I'd want.
  12. LOL! That's not totally true either. I picked up the Lego Space Police ship (the big one from the Black Friday ad) 75% off a few months ago. Some Legos don't go, some do. Some stores don't take all their toys to 75% on the same day for the summer or winter toy clearance. Some stores are just off by a week or two. And, they've actively been tweaking the schedule this year. I'd be prepared both weeks to get in there and be ready to shop.
  13. Oh yeah. Hate that thing. My kids really hated it when they had one on display and people would set it off. I always find it funny that people buy those and the Elmos since kids never really like them because they aren't soft. They usually lose interest pretty quickly. But if you want it for entertainment, that might work fine. And everyone has different taste.
  14. I don't know, but I sure hope so. I hate it every time I hear one go off!
  15. They always done that for some items, but they do seem to be testing out different discounts. Making it less predictable. They've also been stretching the timeline from 2 weeks to sometimes 3 or 4 at a level before dropping it. Pricing research shows that random pricing works better for stores, so they may be playing with it more.
  16. A lot of patio stuff is 30% today. Some 50%.
  17. Huh. Our ads say buy 1 get one half.
  18. You must be in Clarksville. That Target really does suck. I don't know why they don't build another, bigger one. My mom can't ever find anything. With 3, or is it 4, Super Walmarts, I can't believe they don't bother taking them on. The Walmarts are nasty too, but they are more plentiful.
  19. Ours went 50% last week, so I bought some wines to try out. Will buy more next week when they drop again. Depends on what is left. The beer on sale is highly variable. One store has one brand, and other store has another. hard to figure out what on sale where on that count. Stores here are still just experimenting with actual liquor sales. Only a handful have it.
  20. It doesn't matter which ones he got. They all share the same DPCI (double check, but pretty sure, they will all show a single number on the receipt if so) and so you can buy whichever ones you find and return those.
  21. Just keep his receipt and rebuy them at 75% off and return them on his 50% off receipt. Then give him the money. I've done that for DS before when he couldn't wait. It doesn't always work out, and he knows that ahead of time, but he gets excited when he DOES get the money back.
  22. It is blue dot only, and around here there was very little blue dot. Lots on clearance in bedding.
  23. What items were these? Didn't see any of the Buzz Bee toys (which is the other brand Target carries) on sale here. Just actual Nerf.
