  1. Consumer Reports actually tested a bunch of the laundry detergents a couple of months back. Interestingly, the Walmart store brand was the ONLY one that came near Tide in terms of quality of the wash. It was pretty equivalent. The others all had various problems. I don't recall Arm & Hammer specifically, but I remember that All (which I had been using) did especially poorly in the test.
  2. were these the video ones? I think my stores are a bit behind. Our craft stuff is still at 50%. I was so bummed!
  3. You can only do this on the stores where the price checker has a keypad that allows you to enter numbers. Just type it in and hit enter.
  4. You can only print from the current round of coupons listed on the site. And, you can only print them off one set at a time. You go to the kiosk and then go to Target.com. Go to the Super Target coupons link at the bottom. You can access the current coupons there. You can also go into the Exclusive Brands tab and print the ones there under each brand. It is cumbersome, but can be worth it if you want something and forgot the coupons.
  5. They were marking down more stuff in the kids craft area and gift wrap when I was at the store today. Some new items were being marked including Disney Princess birthday stuff & Elmo Birthday stuff. I am going back in hopes that the alphabet stamp set might have gone 75% today. I want to include it in our Preschool fundraiser crafting basket for DS' class.
  6. I am not entirely sure how it all works. Here is the link on the Disney store site: http://tinyurl.com/2lrffo I don't think you can watch an entire DVD on it. It wasn't really meant for that, I don't think. I think it was meant for smaller videos. I am mostly interested in the audio one for DS.
  7. I was at one of the smaller Target's today, and they had a number of baby items on clearance. There were some Classic Pooh items (pacifiers and feeding stuff) as well as a Boppy, wipe warmers and other things. only at 30% right now, but worth keeping an eye open for. Also, those Disney MixSticks are at 50% in my area. I expect they'll either go to 75% or salvage next week.
  8. Again, that is NOT a Target sponsored site. It is a Union site where they are trying to get Target employees to vent their spleen and organize a union.
  9. As with many such things, it is also important to remember that the people posting are self-selecting, and that they have an axe to grind in the first place. The majority of the general discussion is complaining. There aren't too many people on the site just for the camaraderie or anything. The other major use of their board is to ask the union people questions about HR type problems they have. So when you figure that most of them come to the site with a complaint or problem in the first place, you are mostly going to see that. Plus the active ones tend to run the ones who are happy working there off with all their nasty comments. Think of them more as the bullies, I guess. I learned a TON about how they operate in terms of their policies by reading the game where they ask each other job-related questions. They specifically discussed what they are allowed to mark down at the register for damage and by how much. That is also where I learned that they aren't supposed to sell floor models of furniture. So, I guess I am saying to take the complaining with a grain of salt.
  10. the corporation doesn't support the site. it is a union that created the site in hopes of getting Target employees to unionize - hence the name Target Union. I think the whole idea was to give them a place to get made enough to form a union.
  11. Ha! After all the candy bars people got for free. I doubt they'll renew it. At least not without a lot of conditions.
  12. You might keep an eye open at Toys R Us or even your local Walmart. Some Walmarts are still clearing out Christmas and had a few left. I saw one yesterday at TRU in the clearance section. It was still $55, but they get more serious about clearance over the next couple of months.
  13. Most of the time items are at 30% for 2-3 weeks. You will want to check back on the regular day of the week for the markdowns. That is generally Monday, but sometimes they get behind a day. Also, remember that if you get there before they do the markdowns you may think that they aren't doing them that day. They generally are not done for the day until around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. But, if you get there too late, the things you want may be gone. Ugh!
  14. I tried the 2 stores in Pasadena, CA with no luck.
  15. Don't know if anyone is still looking for toys, but they have marked down several action figures. They had a 6 pack of Justice League figures (superman, wonder woman - who my kids call the nakedest superhero - bizarro etc.) that was 19.99 before Christmas, marked down to 15.99 price cut, and now 50% off that to 7.98. Not bad if your child likes them. They also marked Ninja Turtles, Pirates of the Carribean, and Spiderman figures down. I got 2 4-packs of solar yard lights for $12.48 each down from $49.99.
  16. We have a lot of Macy's stores, but I have never seen the toys. Where are they in your store?
  17. Well, that is obviously the store manager's take on things, but if megnsamsgrace is speaking to someone at the corporate level who disagrees, then it may simply be that the store managers are mistaken in their own beliefs. It is also the case that each state makes its own laws regarding coupons, which is why they often have state disclaimers on them. That said, schwadette, were the craft items things other than the kits? All I have found so far are kits which weren't too interesting. But I would love to get some modeling clay and that type of stuff if it is clearing out. you say it was done today?
  18. don't know if anyone is interested, but they are clearancing the small hand weights at my target. They just went on so I think it is only 30%.
  19. This is sort of a side note, but I always buy the Wilton canned frosting at Target the end of whatever holiday is coming up when I need more. It is the kind that you can write or decorate with. I like it better than the squeeze tubes. Anyway, I get it at the end for 90% off every time (there always seems to be a few left), so I pay almost nothing for it. Well, I had some lavender from last Easter that I bought, and I went to write a name on a cake the other day and opened it. Unfortunately, it leaked at the base and wouldn't work. I had another can, so no biggee. But I called Wilton to complain, and not only did they replace the can that I spent $.39 or so for, but they sent the replacement FedEx!!!! Now THAT is customer service!
  20. Not sure about plastic. The new tubs they have with the chalk boards on the ends also fit if you can wait a few months till they clear those out. You might try a Big Lots or someplace like that for inexpensive plastic tubs if you want to wait for nice ones later. Otherwise, you can go to one of the storage places that specialize in storage solutions. But by then you might as well have paid regular price for the new chalk board ones.
  21. I found them today. I got the chocolate mint ones. Pretty good.
  22. I got some business stamps today for $5.24 - 50% off. You can use them for address stamps, deposit stamps, or other types of business uses. I needed these for some business bank accounts. They are pretty customizable. I am going back for a couple more to make Airmail & Fragile stamps for my packages. They also had some that had date stamps in them. The ones I bought you can go online and enter your custom info, and they send you the plate to attach. This is even cheaper and faster (7 days) than Vistaprint's free offer. So, if you have any need for them, they are with the packing supplies, on a bottom shelf. They also had a ton of scrapbooking stuff marked half price today.
  23. Oooh...how much are they? and where are they located? In the chocolate aisle?
  24. Go back to page 70 of this thread. Midway down the page. Or search for niccci until you find it. it is one of niccci's posts.
  25. I wouldn't think the end of 90% off, but I wouldn't count on it for anything but holiday merchandise. They did still do Valentines Day 90%.
