Learned my lesson last year. I've been saving them as they get posted this year!!

I think that everyone making the point about all the "buzz" and planning ahead about the ads when they are leaked early is the point that the stores may be trying to make. There are relatively few people who are die hard BF shoppers who go through the ads as we do and plan out our trips so carefully. But our numbers grow every year-and the stores get nastier every year. With all of the time ahead to compare stores one-on-one we really are not the shoppers they want to attract if you think about it. They want the frenzied shoppers who do not price compare, price match or shop carefully in their stores. And by having their ads in circulation early it's not all about the other stores seeing what they've got on sale but maybe it's about the shoppers seeing what's going to be available and having a game plan. Just a thought- but I don't agree with them and I think they are silly about the whole thing.

I was a bit disappointed in the Macy's ad this year. All of our Hecht's converted to Macy's over the summer so we've all been looking forward to the Macy's holiday shopping. Hecht's was always an early stop for us but Macy's ad really wasn't that impressive. I'm sad the Hecht's is gone

Man I wish my state participated! I could have made those 5 gift cards no problem!!

I'll be watching BF deals for one of these too. I almost bought one last year but just couldn't spend that kind of $$ on myself. Kohls had a pretty good deal on the Artisian Kitchenaid last year and they had about 5 colors to choose from but you had to be there early to get it. This year I think I'm looking for a good food processor deal :)

Thank God no! But we always take my mom's car and it has a really big trunk. She also lives right in the middle of EVERYTHING!! So we can very easily go back to her house and dump our stuff as we fill up the car. That's usually when we break out the snacks and pick out the next few stores we want to shop!

Are your middle school age kids into webkinz? I know my 12 yr old cousin and her friends are. The get online and play the games with each other.

I almost never start shopping UNTIL black friday! This year I have come across a few deals too good to pass up and I have broken the rule and started shopping early. I try to do most of my shopping on BF. I finish up by about the 10th of December. I KNOW most of you are cringing right now!!! I'm not a procrastinator! I just like to holiday shop around the holidays-it gets me into the spirit of things and I never really feel rushed. When I start feeling stressed by it I guess I'll start shopping earlier!

Okay so we've all been either the troublemaker or the victim of road rage but what better day than Black Friday to have an event? Let's hear your story because we know there have got to be some good one's out there! Either on the road or in the parking lots where have you experienced Black Friday Road Rage?

'I got the Wal-Mart BF ad early from ... GottaDeal.com!' That is tooo funny!

How do you budget for Christmas money? How much do you spend?
Princess7915 replied to jarerice's topic in 2007
I always set a budget but I wish I could stick to it - we come pretty close. We don't have a big family to buy for and I think that's why it's easy to "justify" picking up extra goodies for people-especially the few kids that we do have to buy for since Dh and I don't have any kids. I also don't start shopping untill early Nov. because I never know what anybody wants and I am a huge impulse buyer! I think I set a budget to make myself feel resposible but it never works out! My Dh is just as bad about sticking to it so I don't feel so bad. He had his first BF experience last year and he can't wait for this year - he's been checking this site a few times a day for ads!! -
WWW.ScrapYourTrip.com is great. They have lots of stuff especially if you don't have a lot of specialty stores in your area. They a have a really good clearance section too.

saving you from the evil clutches of spammers everywhere....

I think we should all open new yahoo accounts and email him a Black Friday Tip of the Day. That would be fun. We could tell him that we heard he was interested. -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007
Princess7915 replied to 1angelnhvn's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Checked all my local Targets and found a FoodSaver! But it took a 20 minute argument with a "section manager" to get her to sell it to me! There were no lables anywhere for the 2240 model and only the display left. She informed me that she doesn't sell her displays. I told her that every other Target in the country does and that the price was about $25 on it and that I wanted it. She was dug in about not selling it to me! Finally she looked up my DCPI code (thanks guys) and it rang up on her hand held as $56. She called the store manager who said she could sell it for the $56. He said different areas clearance different prices. But then she fought me on the 30% display discount. Either way I left the store with that Foodsaver and am quite proud of myself because I was polite but firm that I was not leaving the store without either that display or a new one for the same price! Thanks for all your tips guys I have saved soo much $$$ from this site over the last few months! -
They also have their tealight and votive holders at b1g1 1/2 off along with the boxes of telights at b1g1 1/2 off. It's pretty much just like the Columbus Day sale if you shopped for that. I talked to one of the sales girls because I have 33 co-workers to buy for and the tealight holders are really affordable on this sale!!!

This is re-usable just so everyone knows, and they date is good past BF so I will be keeping this in my purse for a shopping emergency. (such as today when I spend way too much)

I am sooo ready for BF. That really kicks off Christmas for me.

Does anyone else shop at an Ollies Bargin Outlet? I went into a new on in my area today and what a find!! I figured it would be all junk so I have been hesitant to go in but I was very surprised. I cleaned up on the Christmas stuff!! They had all Walmart brand wrapping, bags, tissue etc. for less than half the reg. prices. Plus I got some major gift shopping done. Board games (good ones) for like 75% off retail. I am a major fan of this store!

thanks!! I was just on my way there to pick up a new pair of shoes that were $50, this will be handy!!!

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007
Princess7915 replied to 1angelnhvn's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Okay guys. I'm going to brave my Target and try out this clearance shopping thing for the first time. Any advice for a Target newbie? You guys seem to always find such great stuff and I just can't hold out any longer. -

anyone know where I can buy a really nice fake tree for under 300?
Princess7915 replied to copados1993's topic in 2007
We have a store here called Garden Ridge, if you have one they have pretty good sales. My mom got hers from QVC. As far as fake trees go it looks pretty nice. She got it about 5 years ago and it still looks the same so it's held up really well.
