  1. We like to eat other things too... And if by bulk food, you're talking Sam's or Costco, there's plenty of shoppers on here that can beat the wholesale pricing easily - read some of the coupon threads... 247 bottles of hot sauce at $0.01 each yesterday.
  2. Thanks for agreeing... One thing to note, when I consolidated 2 accounts into 1 moving my own DTivo unit from the other house after I sold it into my 1 house now, DTV said they would normally not allow me to re-use the old access card. They now mail out new cards and that would take up to 10 days. But since it was my account there and here they would allow it. It's their way of 1) doing a card swap and 2) making sure it hasn't been "messed with". That's why I said they may need to get a new card. She indicated that's the norm now, and my experience was the exception.
  3. Not when your household is 2 people. You'd waste more on what you throw away than you'd save.
  4. They didn't say anything about that. I did see the layout of the surrounding area as it was planned. There's a Home Depot right next to them. The Home Depot is 1/3 the physical size of the Wal-Mart.
  5. It depends... some of what is being bought on ebay is for "experimenting". Meaning they play with the access cards and such until DTV (or Dish) sends them a demand for payment for a few grand or threaten to take them to court. There are also reasons why you might want older equipment... The older DVR models are Tivo based, and it's also easier to enable features that aren't enabled by DTV. No, I'm not talking Free TV by this... I'm talking about enabling features such as folders, home media networking, etc. And sometimes you can just get better deals by picking up a used receiver. You may have to get a new card from DTV to activate it. And I'm not sure on DTVs policy now about if the receiver has a balance on the old account. It used to be that DTV and E* would require the balance to be paid off before they'd re-activate the receiver even under another name... of course, that may also depend on the rep. you talk to. If they aren't looking for HDTV, I'd simply look into going straight to DTV since the current offer is a FREE DVR system plus up to 3 additional receivers, free shipping, and free installation. HBO, Showtime, and Starz are free for the 1st 3 months too. It's hard to beat free. If they need a referral I'd be happy to give one ... (customers get $50 to refer other customers btw)
  6. I asked about this of one of the assistant managers the other day... It's up to the store apparently. Since the card is a "rewards program" it's not like a regular ad, though the stores around here use it that way. Thus why the local store has no problem with accepting it. They even give the CSS/CSMs the ads from the local stores to have with them so the customers don't have to carry the ads in. The one thing they won't "comp" (their term for a Price Match) is the "buy one get one free". Their philosophy on it was that since they are a pretty large Wal-Mart and people come from 20 to 30 minutes away, they'd rather them get the discountl than possibly lose the whole sale to another store. Considering the store just tok some district and regional awards thingies, it must be working for them. Also heard that they're putting in "Neighborhood Markets" in places. It's more of just a grocery store than Super Wal-Marts. And that Wal-Mart is now the largest grcoery distributor. Some of the feats that company has done in the past 50 years is pretty amazing... (we talked for a long time)
  7. Hmm... Consumer reports did a report that pre-packaged meats carry less contamination than those packaged on-site. You can tell the difference by the packaging. Pre-packaged comes in the hard plastic shells with the cleat plastic flat over the top. The in-store packaged meat has foam board underneath and the plastic touches the piled up meat. The reason I mention this is Wal-Mart carries prepackaged meats, and the local grocery store packages most meat themselves.
  8. Hmm... Ours will - or has I should say. Now I wonder if they're supposed to...
  9. WalMart will match your local grocery store prices. Some stores will require the ad, others may not (for groceries only). The only thing is WM doesn't double coupons, and if you go over some amount it will lock the register and a CSM will have to come approve the coupons (it's happened to me multiple times).
  10. This is not the first time for bogus Pizza Hut coupons... http://www.digg.com/deals/Free_Pizza_Hut_Pizza
  11. Well... I've had the opposite experience with them when a motherboard dies after a couple days. I was sent back and forth between calling them and the manufacturer for replacement. ZZF told me they "couldn't" RMA it- call the mfgr. or they'd have to eat the cost of the board. MSI, the mfgr, said "it's been less than 30 days, you should be talking to the dealer... they can get you a replacement faster, and we'll replace it for them". And back and forth I went. Got fed up told ZZF that I was calling the bank and disputing the charge - suddenly they were willing to take it back. I'll never deal with them again. And I've never bought another MSi motherboard either... Good experience - amazon -replaced a product that got lost in the mail and said keep it when (and the replacement) when it finally showed up. Proflowers - similar exp. to civicracinggirl - flowers dies very quickly around Valentines day last year. They replaced them no questions asked.
  12. Just noticed: A 1Gb DDR2 module runs $20 - $30 CHEAPER than DDR... Pretty sweet.
  13. Yo Rossman, eBates still pays $5 per referral...
  14. pm me your email address, and I'll be happy to refer you. I've been a member for a long time.. The hardest part it remembering to go there first before buying something online. Just looked: (I had forgotten about them for a while)
  15. 50% offs are pretty common... The occassional 60% off comes up every couple of months maybe even sooner. But since the last one just came out 1/24 and ended 1/31, it may be a bit before the next 60% comes out. If you bought a certificate from them, don't worry you'll be getting the codes in email fairly regularly. I had never seen a 40% off code before this thread...
  16. See OP New code - "CUPIDSAVES" - 10% off added. Other codes in OP checked, and they still work.
  17. I was wondering... are these the pages you peel back the plastic and stick things to them? If so, can you easily remove the items (say thin newspaper) without tearing them? I was thinking about using something like that for organizing coupons.
  18. Are they still sold there? If so, return then without the receipt.
  19. Of if you're typing-adverse, click on their avatar then click the "Add (theirname) to Your Ignore List"
  20. I was in the same dilema. But last time I wasn't offered it when others were. So since it costs nothing, I did it. Hopefully, I'll get to use it before the 3 months is up.
  21. I had to go through the link as if I was going to join. The offer was on one of the pages on the right hand side about 2 pages into it.
  22. Went through a similar experience MANy years ago... Contact the BBB, AOL actually will respond favorably to the BBB even when they won't to you directly. Go figure.
